To be fair this is about as far as Sitting On Top Of The World got iirc (imo that was a better song although this is great), it really is the lack of promotion that's stopping her.

Really liking this, far far better than Sitting On Top Of The World already, it's been far too long since I really loved a single of Delta's.

Found on Popjustice that apparently during an interview on The Today Show, she said this single is for a new album she hopes to have out by the beginning of next year.

This video was posted on Popjustice along with the above information - I haven't watched it but it's probably confirmation of the above.

Bloody love Delta

It is indeed confirmation Ryan that Heart Hypnotic is the lead single from the 5th album and the 5th album will be out at the start of next year. Let's hope that in between all the writing of it she still has time to come over here to do a wee spot of promo.

Oh wow, I read re-release of COTU but new album is fabulous  Child Of The Universe was brilliant, as are all her albums actually, so I'm excited!
I wonder if the new album will be out at the beginning of next year? lol it'll be her fastest turn around since IE-MI!
Not too shabby, another top ten smash! Hope the video surfaces soon to keep it afloat. Nice piano cover there, very talented The Controller!
I think 'Heart Hypnotic' is brilliant. :D Agree with Eyes, it's the best Delta single for a while and I already prefer this to 'SOTOTW'.
Just realised she's had four top tens in Aus in just over a year with Sitting On Top Of The World, Wish You Were Here, Bayini and now Heart Hypnotic. Very impressive considering her heydey was a decade ago now!
Decade ago my arse. With The Voice AU she's undergoing a second heyday right now and it's amazing! To be fair I don't think she's ever been far from the spotlight. When I was there in 2009 she was everywhere as the Hair of a Shampoo and she wasn't gearing up to release anything then. I think she's become too much of a big name, by Australian standards, to disappear.
Oh yeah I agree but she'll never go back to being the chart force that she was in 2003 where she could have burped for 3 minutes and sent it to #1. Much like Westlife here except 3 minutes of burping would have been preferable to half of their #1's.
Oh yeah, the music scene has changed so much since then that she'll possibly never have something that sells as much as Innocent Eyes. On the other hand, the music tastes of the buying public do change frequently and there is a chance that she could put out an album that makes 21 look as successful as Sweet 7.
Wasn't Innocent Eyes the biggest selling album of the 00s in Aus? I know it sold over a million copies which considering their population is staggering! I don't know what Child Of The Universe's total sales are so far but I can't imagine they're even a tenth of that :o I'm always ready for an Adele style miracle to happen to Delta though!
I don't think this new song is as strong as some of her more recent stuff but its still not bad.

Yeah, it's their =7th best selling album of all time at 1.05m copies sold and 15 times Platinum!!! (according to Wikipedia)

With 4.5m copies sold worldwide you could say an Delta size Mirakle happened to Adele. :kink:

It's hard to know when you're on the outside (being in the UK here) but I agree I don't think Delta has ever really strayed too far from the Australian public eye. Each new era since Mistaken Identity she has had 2 songs that have connected with the public:

Out of the Blue and Almost Here

In This Life and Believe Again

Sitting On Top of the World and Wish You Were Here

Ok it's not every single being a monster hit like Innocent Eyes era, but then how many Australians have had hits that keep flowing like this over their last 4 records? I just think that Innocent Eyes was an exceptional era bought upon by a lot of factors, which can't be done again (and I think we all agree won't want to either!) As long as the music is strong - and in my opinion she hasn't actually had a rubbish single. It's just a shame some single opportunities have been missed (Electric Storm, Last Night On Earth, Brave Face, War On Love, Hunters and the Wolves)

If anything I believe that Delta is probably where she should be in terms of chart impact and positions. I think some of her fans need to get it out of their heads that she can't hit #1 all the time

LOL! sorry Phil but that's complete tosh. Her last album sold gold, the one before that 3x platinum. I'm glad she can still get a top 10 single but I would say the Australian public is tiring of her.
