January 7, 201114 yr Goodness Rapper + female chorus does not automatically = current. Stuck In My Head is current compared to most of her stuff in that it could concievably be from about 2002 compared to the rest of her 1998-esque songs but seriously how deluded do you have to be to think that in its current form it would be anything close to a hit in the UK?

Stuck In My Head is current compared to most of her stuff in that it could concievably be from about 2002 compared to the rest of her 1998-esque songs but seriously how deluded do you have to be to think that in its current form it would be anything close to a hit in the UK? It would never be a UK hit. As I mentioned in the iTunes thread (I think) about a month ago; firstly UK radio would never support it - Radio 2 wouldn't because of Vinni, and nobody else would touch it with a bargepole. Radio 1 wouldn't go near it because (as much as I love the song) Vinni's rapping sounds very, shall we say continental, there's definitely a strong 'English isn't my first language and it shows' accent there which you never really heard from fellow Norwegians Madcon, who could have easily passed for US rappers. Maybe it could have been a hit in 2000 when Lene Marlin was having success but those days are long gone sadly :drama: The only way European females are going to get top 40 hits in the UK these days are in these two ways only; 1) Make a dance song - European dance can occasionally cross over still. 2) Get your song on a high profile advert (Yael Naim anyone?). I maintain that had Jungle Drum been on an advert somewhere along the line it could have been huge here. 3) Win Eurovision (go Lena :magic:) But radio just aren't into non-dance European artists anymore...
January 7, 201114 yr Author No Way Out confirmed as 3rd single! Somebody's got their head screwed on this era haven't they  About bloody time too! Makes a change to have management how know what to do. Then again, No Way Out, Crazy Cool an Stuck In My Head are the 3 best tracks on the album
February 8, 201114 yr Author Stuck In My Head hit #2 in the Norwegian chart, equalling her position for Butterflies and making it the joint highest chart position she's had  I took the plunge and bought all 4 albums on import today. I can't wait for their arrival. Oh, and according to Scandipop.co.uk No Way Out is currently climbing the Swedish iTunes Chart :funky:
February 8, 201114 yr Oh, and according to Scandipop.co.uk No Way Out is currently climbing the Swedish iTunes Chart :funky: It's nowhere in the top 1000 in either Sweden or Norway's iTunes chart :kink:
March 1, 201114 yr Author AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! I have finally got Bliss!!!!! :cheer: SO EXCITED!
January 23, 201213 yr Author And she's BACK: VUx5oCwlln8 A nice little evolution on her String laden sound  Naturally I am absolutely OBSESSED. I am so excited that she's releasing new music, and I am thrilled that the quality is remaining at the sublime standard set by Butterflies. In other God related news, Morrisons have both I Know and Butterflies on their instore radio. It nice to hear my favourite song when I'm having a shitty day.
January 23, 201213 yr Author  Tone has never been cheesy. MOR, yes. Chessy, no. Butterflies is a little bit twee but thats about is. This song and the last album isn't twee at all.
January 24, 201213 yr Author She's #1 on iTunes - Norway :w00t: I've played this more than 50times already
January 24, 201213 yr Lovely song and nice to see it as an instant success in Norway! Hopefully this means that a follow up to the brilliant Cocool isn't too far away!
January 24, 201213 yr Look Back is brilliant! Definitely a good sign for the new album, if it's half as good as Cocool I'll be looking forward to it!
January 25, 201213 yr I really need to give her album(s?) a listen. She has so much potential. I've always liked 'Butterflies' (craps all over 'Fairytale' - FOR SURE :puke:) and 'Look Back' could be a grower! It's really good!
January 25, 201213 yr It's dawned on me that this is like a more poppy version of I Forgive You from Kelly Clarkson's current album :o
January 25, 201213 yr Author I really need to give her album(s?) a listen. She has so much potential. I've always liked 'Butterflies' (craps all over 'Fairytale' - FOR SURE :puke:) and 'Look Back' could be a grower! It's really good! She has 4 albums, but I'd avoid the first 2. They are impossible to track down without paying a fortune to get them from Norway (if you find anywhere that still stocks them) and you aren't missing much. I Know and Cocool are both rather good albums. They have their standouts then the rest of the albums are just nice. She's literally the perfect person to put on if you're after some really nice relaxing music that you can chill out to or study to. As for tracks, I'd probably start with I Know, I Love You, Little Lies, No Way Out and Stuck In My Head. They should all be on youtube. If you like them then you'll like the two albums.
January 30, 201213 yr Author  Still gutted we didn't get a No Way Out video. Hopefully they'll take this track international as it's less errrr twee than Butterflies and more likely to do well.
January 30, 201213 yr Usually I'd disagree that the UK would be open to this sort of thing anymore but with back to back #1's looking likely from Cover Drive and Alyssa Reid, perhaps the era of great but random throwaway pop smashes from countries outside the US/UK is returning :o All Tone needs to do is to sign with AATW and she has one huge hit single and a(nother) flop album guaranteed
