Called 'Is This Love' it seems. Oh and I definatly think should be moved to Pop, I think thats where her other threads are, and by all accounts it sounds like she's heading for a Europop/Dance sound this time round.

I like Jordin sparks. Her battlefield album was a favourite of mine back in 2009. Shame it didn't do well.

Really can't wait for her to be back and hopefully do a third good album in a row. But if she is heading the direction as described above, I will not be happy. Too many artists are going into dance music these days. It's ridiculous.

Apparently it has quite a heavy dance beat and is quite Euro in sound. Maybe it'll work though - after all On The Floor is smashing it up in America.

Another Stargate faux-Guetta production a la Only Girl (In The World) then?

Yeah. I'm moving this to pop. She is a pop artist imo. Plus it'll get more views and stuff in there.

Love Jordin. Her debut is brilliant and 'Battlefield' (album) was quite the grower, but only a few tracks really impress me now. Still, very much looking forward to this. The euro dance sound could work very well for her as she kind of hinted to what it'd sound like in 'S.O.S (Let the Music Play)'.

I am looking forward to this. I never bought 'Jordin Sparks' but 'Battlefield' was just fantastic, not a bad song on there so I should give her first a listen. Hope she doesn't change her sound too much with this 'euro sound', I love her ballads the best.
Can't wait for new jordin material, it is sad she's so underrated, the battlefield album was amazing, i really wish Walking On Snow and No Parade were released as singles, im still surprised SOS flopped in the US, especially given that Battlefield did quite well, hopefully though this new song will give her a big hit.

I've just found this: http://idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=664086 and it has sources, so I hope it's true that we'll be hearing very soon! :D

Also, she tweeted a few days ago that she has just heard the first mix of her new single and says 'you guys are going to love it'!

Hopefully, we'll get some news from her soon :)

Not long then. :D

Really looking forward to it.

Yay, not long to wait :w00t: I've a feeling this might be the turnaround era she becomes big a la Kelly's Breakaway (though I'll never understand why SOS was a relative flop - I was expecting top 5 :o)

The only other AI winner I can see having any kind of success even close to resembling that of Breakaway is Carrie Underwood. Why she was never given a proper release over here I will never know... Surely the success of Taylor Swift should be more than enough reason to give her a release..

Don't get me started on Carrie :( She's my fave singer of all time (even a bit ahead of Gaga :o) so I'm DYING for her UK launch (which'll never happen) and the soft release of Play On over here which saw it peak at a paltry 93 wasn't enough :nocheer: Although with zilch promo/airplay she did very well off the back of diehard fans following her like me at US pace! With a push, I could see her doing very well! I know Jordin's era won't be even half as sucsessful as Breakaway, I just meant this will be her breakout era (Kelly's first era went a lot worse - in the UK at least - than either of Jordin's, but she got the right songs and struck lucky) - I see no reason she can't get a top 5/10 single or two and top 10 album with the right songs/handling. Last era, she had the amazing songs but not the push (Battlefield and SOS easily could have gone top 5 in the former's case and top 10 in the latter's). The new sound will do wonders I think (she seems to be focusing on Europe, as this won't work in the US, Australia/NZ may take it Ok as well) though I do hope we don't lose the Jordin ballads completely!

What is the message of your new single 'I Am Woman'?

'I Am Woman' is a song about different aspects of the lives of women. It could be a mother, a performer, a woman working in a corporate space -- its all about what we go through as women and how our lives are so crazy. Walk a mile in my shoes, or in my stilettos, if you dare and see what happens. It's all about the strengths that a woman has -- how we can multi-task and carry so much, yet still always be on point when we need to be and on cue when we need to be. It's all about the amazing-ness of a woman.

...

'I Am Woman' was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder and you also collaborated with John Legend on a track for the new album. Who else are you working with?

I worked with John, I worked with Ryan and we also did another song called 'The World I Knew' for the new Disney movie 'African Cats.' So that was a lot of fun, I love working with Ryan. We did [the 2009 album] 'Battlefield' together, so I knew this was going to be great. I'm still in the studio recording. I have the single and we're trying to find songs that are just as good -- some slow songs, some mid-tempos, we have 'I Am Woman,' which is up-tempo. I worked with the Underdogs again, who did [the 2008 single] 'No Air' with me. I'm working with a whole bunch of different people and just seeing what we can come up with in the studio.

Read the full interview and listen to the song HERE.

The song sounds alright on first listen! Very different to Ryan Tedder's norm, which I think has been pulled off here. The production sounds quite Beyoncé-esque too, I thought. Good effort though, and I look forward to seeing what else this project produces.

Edited by THEO.

I quite like it on first listen - not quite the Europop I was hoping! A bit poppier than her other stuff but I doubt it will be her big breakthrough :( Doesn't sound too Euro-friendly atm!
Horrific artwork and ridiculous title aside it's not actually too bad. I doubt I'll be listening to it again out of choice though...
Oh my, i'm just listening to FREEZE  What a missed opportunity that was.
Bloody awful song. Talk about hammering the nail into the coffin of her career.
The most bizarre song title like ever.
