I adore this song, everything about the track appeals to me and ticks all the boxes. Melodic dance with Lego video. What more could you want? :lol:

This really has become a surprise hit with me. When I first saw the video, after about 30 seconds I'd decided I'd had enough and changed the channel. Then when I discovered Will & Leah were going to perform 'Bang Bang' my reaction was one of :manson: . So I watched the performance and soon realising where the song was going I sort of smiled at the shot of Leah shuffling along on stage whilst singing "bang...bang" and for some bizzare reason I found myself liking the song a lot more than I'd imagined. So yes, it's become one of those TV performances that keeps drawing me back (a bit like when Alexandra Burke & Beyonce performed 'Listen' on The X Factor). Very few of these TV performances end up having such an impact on me, but this version of 'Bang Bang' does.

Aww, I think 'Papaoutai' is a brilliant track and deserved my 12 points. I had no idea that Juran Juran was going to enter the song to BJSC, especially after I PM'd Bre the song as a potential "foreign language hit". I also really like the quirkiness of the video too. :lol:

I haven't really taken to this at all. I remember when people started predicting 'Reload' to be a massive top 3 hit a couple of months back so decided to have a listen. It didn't grab my attention on first listen so didn't understand what was so special but needless to say it's grown on me since. It was never going to be a top 10 hit in my chart though. 'Don't You Worry Child' is in a different league.

The sad thing is that had 'I Love It' been released a few months ago, it might've had a much healthier chart run. Granted it may have peaked at #2 or #3 because of it, but it would've been a bigger selling single than it's now set to be which is unfortunate, but that's record companies for you. :( Still isn't close to the record longest run in my top 40 which goes to Gotye feat. Kimbra with a record breaking 35 weeks in my top 40. :o

Papa-papaoutai. :wub: Love the majority of the new entries, have only heard Sebastian Ingrosso, Katy B and Iggy Azalea's singles for the first time over the last couple of days. 'Reload' shouldn't have been the highest charting imo as the other 2 sound better to my ears! Great chart. :D

Papa-papaoutai. :wub: Love the majority of the new entries, have only heard Sebastian Ingrosso, Katy B and Iggy Azalea's singles for the first time over the last couple of days. 'Reload' shouldn't have been the highest charting imo as the other 2 sound better to my ears! Great chart. :D

 

EDIT: Oh, and if you'd've checked out my national thread last month, you would have known that 'Papaoutai' was one of my potentials. :lol:

I really struggled to get into 'Scream & Shout' so it stalled at #40 in my chart for two weeks before dropping out again. It's better than the godawful '#thatPOWER'. Justin Bieber is fast becoming the most obnoxious person in the entire world. Look what you've done Usher!!! :angry: Anyways, I've grown to like 'Bang Bang' (songs growing on me seems to be a regular occurrence in my chart :lol: ) although it's purely the Leah McFall version from The Voice that I like.

I've not taken to 'Formidable' at all. Gave it a listen the other week but it isn't a patch on 'Papaoutai' which is far more up my street. I agree though that 'Alors On Danse' was an exceptional slice of Eurodance.

12 This has grown on me again after tiring a little due to overplay; sounds fantastic in the sunshine and makes me want to give their album another listen after initially not being too impressed with it.

 

29 I'm gutted this has underperformed in the charts, was expecting at least Top 10. It's a great song, not too different to her previous stuff, although admittedly I feel there is something missing for it to compete with other tracks, but all the same, definitely Top 10 worthy. Not a good start to this second era really. :(

What I didn't think would happen was for it to plummet so quickly - I was thinking it could stick around for a few weeks like 'Work' did before falling. 12. 'Get Lucky' refuses to get boring for me, I just adore the song. Everything about the song is so uplifting and obviously the glorious weather we're enjoying right now is helping. :D I doubt I'll be buying the album though, I previewed the tracks when it was released and was a bit disappointed. The only other album track that could be a single is 'Instant Crush' but they'd be best to let 'Get Lucky' continue to sell whilst it's still popular.

 

29. Have to admit, I thought Katy B's single was a bonafide top 10 hit in waiting. Especially after a successful first album and singles, I think I predicted this to chart at #2 in the UK a while back. Got that wrong, didn't I? :lol: As for Katy B in general, I've never been fully on board and her biggest hit in my chart remains 'Lights Out' and it was really Ms Dynamite that made that song for me instead of Katy's "so laid back she sounds bored" vocals.

 

34. Again like Katy B, Iggy Azalea is another artist who is adored on Buzzjack but I'm not feeling it myself. 'Work' peaked at #36 for me so whilst 'Bounce' has peaked higher (just about) I can't say it's a massive improvement on the previous single. Apparently Iggy has said that the third single will be the one that sells the album. I shall reserve judgement until I hear said song...but I'm not holding my breath. :P

'Sirens' is a gem. I was so pleased with the turn out when I hosted BJSC the other month and the quality of the entries (well, those that made the final :P ) were incredible. I always know a final is good when I rank the songs in order of favourite and I want to at least give 1 point to a song that's ranked 18th out of 30 or so songs...and that's after being harsh with the ranking. :lol:

:lol: I only chart BJSC entries after the results of the final. They usually enter in stages with my best discoveries (songs I give big points to) entering first, then another set (the smaller points) then sometimes a few I didn't vote for creep into the top 40 but those tracks only enjoy a short stay in the top 40. So 'Walking On Air' will appear in my Bubbling Under chart this coming weekend, and is scheduled to enter the following week after the results (I do this on purpose just to help me compile a chart, if I allowed myself to chart anything as and when, I'd struggle to compile a chart because I'd never be satisfied with the order :lol: ). Delighted to know you're a big fan of 'Walking On Air' though. :D It's been on my shortlist for about 3 months and this month I decided it was ready to enter the contest - nearly entered the song into BJFestivalen.

12 I think it's also impressive that Daft Punk have managed such a massively successful single years after their peak. I think that 'Lose Yourself to Dance' or 'Give Life Back to Music' could do well as edited down versions, but I agree that the second single can wait a little longer - they don't want to make the same mistake Bastille did by releasing 'Laura Palmer' when 'Pompeii' was still doing well, both officially and streaming wise. Besides, Random Access Memories seems to be doing alright without another single at the moment, must be the weather too.

 

29 I'm a big fan of Katy B myself. :D I found her album one of the best of 2011; it ran so smoothly and there wasn't a bad song on there! Also, on the last track, she reads out a mini "thank you" at the end which you usually find in the album booklet, which made the album more personally if you like. It was a very nice edition. My favourite singles of hers have to be 'Broken Record and 'Easy Please Me'. :wub: I must admit that Ms Dynamite's input on 'Lights On' is the best part too! :P Can't get my head round how she can rap so quickly! Can she make a return to the charts, please?!

 

34 Iggy's style of music seems to be very love/hate. I personally love it but can't definitely see why people would detest it! :P Ballads seem to sell albums, but I can't see her attempting one of those!

 

Yes, first time listening, but I really like that! Kind of reminded me of Porter Robinson, specifically 'Easy'. Sounds like something Radio 1 would get on bored with. As for the video, well someone obviously has too much time on their hands, but it was a bit of a giggle! :D
