Posted July 16, 201312 yr This film seems to have caused quite a stir in the film industry. Metascore of 69/100 apparently (for a horror film, that's GREAT!) and an 8.0 out of 10 on IMDB (out of 18k+ users!). It's based on true events and the trailer I have posted in here, sees the real family talking about their experiences. _FCaLiZtu9s It'll probably be given a "15" rating here, but in America, it has been given a "Rated R" rating, despite having very little violence and no gore! It's rating is based on the fact the rating system think it's that scary! :o Very excited. I already know I'm going to shit myself, but I'm intrigued to see if it is as scary as it is being hyped to be...
August 1, 201311 yr Author I saw a very freaky clip of this the other day! Something to do with her hanging the washing out and the sheet blows off the line and in mid air, makes it look like it landed on someone/something. SO CREEPY. Going to see this Saturday night, hopefully!
August 1, 201311 yr on Rottentomatoes its got a 86% rating :o That's very rare for a horror movie. Usually only the universally loved classics or the ones that actually present something new to the table get good scores there. Cant wait to check it out
August 1, 201311 yr I really dont get excited about ghost horror films. For the most part, I find them so lame! :( I think things that can actually happen like murders and stuff more interesting and fun to watch. I will still probably watch this but after being disappointed with Paranormal Activity, Sinister and countless other similar movies I wont hold my breath.
August 4, 201311 yr Really need to watch this. The trailer makes it seem like any old haunted house horror flick, but the hype around it is suggesting there's more to it or at least that it does the traditional scares well. I'm not usually blown away by modern horror, but hopefully this can be an exception. Let us know how it is Jonjo.
August 4, 201311 yr Considering it's over an 80 on Rotten Tomatoes then it must be decent. There's been so many cheap horror films over the years in the wake of Paranormal Activity's success. Most of the reviews say this is no new boundary setter, but it is actually scary despite the shocks being obvious. Want to see it!
August 4, 201311 yr Scariest film I've seen in cinemas since [Rec], I think. We were actually terrified. A woman nearby had slipped so far down in her chair at one point she was actually horizontal with terror. It really helps that it mixes really well orchestrated ghostly scares with strong characters and a nice sense of humour - fantastic cinema experience.
August 5, 201311 yr Anything with the tagline 'based on a true story' just creeps the shit out of me! (esp. when it's about ghosts/the paranormal) I've seen the trailer for this and that's already enough to make me scared of this Bathsheda thing. Although inevitably I'll get dragged along to go see this and not be able to sleep for a week afterwards.
August 5, 201311 yr Yep I very much agree with Randy on this! THAT DOLL! OMG. *shudders* That's me not seeing this then, anything with dolls/clowns is just pure evil.
August 7, 201311 yr This is really good. Quite scary but not overdone. It messed with my mind and my feelers. The bit with THE MAID almost made me wet myself.
August 7, 201311 yr One part of me wants to see this but I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep after seeing this EVER. Like EVER EVER.
August 7, 201311 yr One part of me wants to see this but I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep after seeing this EVER. Like EVER EVER. I'm trying to persuade people to come and see this, their too afraid. Come to the cinema with me?
August 7, 201311 yr That's me not seeing this then, anything with dolls/clowns is just pure evil. The doll barely appears ;)
August 7, 201311 yr Author The doll barely appears ;)THIS IS A LIE! It's a main part of the story! We might not see too much of it (we see more than enough of it & CLOSE UPS TOO!), but seriously ONE LOOK at it and nightmares forever!
August 7, 201311 yr Its not part of the main story. It appears at the beginning as a link to a previous story the Warrens worked on. And then briefly again near the end once you know what happens at their house. Funnily enough, this is how the real Annabelle looks like http://badassdigest.com/2013/07/23/the-tru...-the-conjuring/
August 7, 201311 yr omg I'd have totally gone to see this if not for the doll. I most likely AM going to see it so I'm going to tear my boyfriend's arm off during the first 5 minutes. and I will need to bring new pair of pants too. I'm trying to persuade people to come and see this, their too afraid. Come to the cinema with me? Ok. Taking the next flight to 666, Hell street, Hell. Is it where you reside in?
