Those "positive people" are probably not going to disagree with you guys now, now that things are clearer. It was just frustrating to see people speak so negatively of the release, SIX weeks before anything happened (promotion, airplay, video prem even). There was constant panic that radio 1 had "snubbed them" from that point onwards, when they never playlist a song as advanced as that, ever. So back then, as a Saturdays fan it was incredibly infuriating to see it with almost every other post one member (in particular) would make (and from what I've read on here, that poster also got told very similar things on another forum). Didn't even give it a chance.

I'm still fairly confident in this tbh. Yeah it'll be out the charts faster than you can say "Una", but it went top 200 the day it got put up for pre-order and has been back in the top 500 (?) ever since Radio 1 did eventually playlist it.

Another little dig at me I see. Just because I predicted what would happen with Disco Love weeks ago and didn't try kid myself with false hope. It was blatantly obvious when the music video struggled to get a million views on YouTube after a month that nobody was interested in it. I've been a fan of the charts for years and if something has been sent to radio and TV and it's getting zero attention after a few weeks then it's likely the song will flop.

The song is boring as hell and the video isn't interesting to watch. They can do much better than this and everyone knows it but they choose the worst singles ever. What About Us was a massive hit sales and airplay wise and now look at the state they're in. Release Not Giving Up ffs!

The positive people she talks about is me. All I'm saying is I think it's their best song personally and I personally think WAU is faceless dance music with none of that Saturday's sparkle they used to have. I however have never said that it wasnt gonna flop. I've been pretty vague regarding its chart run. Saying it'll chart at #6 and it'll do alright.

I dunno really, it won't do 2 weeks in top 10. But it should do 150k total sales.

I think to do as much as 150k in the current sales climate, it would absolutely need 2 weeks in the Top 10 to be able to go on and achieve that sort of total.

It wouldn't surprise me if Disco Love's removal was a mistake, True Love by P!nk got removed before it had even taken off but was added back with the next update.
Capital is still playing the song so I think it's probably a mistake.

They've played it once all day and that was Rich Clarke. I'm not sure if it was a mistake as Rich seems to be the only DJ along with Marvin to be playing it.

I've heard Disco Love loads on Capital, Rich Clark plays it during his show, but others have played it too(Was played 3 times yesterday).

That's not really that impressive.

My first thought was that the removal from Capital's playlist was a mistake, so I'm glad that appears to be the case.

In regards to my statement that this could realistically do two weeks in the Top 10, I stand by that. No, airplay is not impressive at this point and the release is in five days, but I never expected good airplay prior to release coming off the abomination that was Gentleman. Just because airplay is low doesn't mean it's not going to connect with the general public once it is available on iTunes. If they like what they hear (which I'm confident they will) I think it will at least shoot into the Top 5 and promo will be enough to keep it Top 7/8 for the week. If there is decent promo for album release week then I don't see why it can't score a second week Top 10, especially as airplay will have picked up by then (thanks to a combination of them entering high on the official chart and their whatever radio promo they have planned). I mean, Missing You only slipped from #3 to #5 thanks to album release week and continued promo. I can see this doing the same, even if airplay isn't quite as strong as Missing You.

Call me optimistic but I refuse to declare this a flop ahead of release. I'm choosing to look at what this release has going for it: Capital and Radio 1 support (albeit minimal), good promo planned, and a "good enough" song and video.

In all fairness, all heir singles these days have sold 25k and more opening week because they have gotten a bigger fan base now. It could easily get to #6-7 with the sales climate atm, just look at it's my party. The entire Jessie J forum were like saying it wasn't gonna chart well because of poor pre orders and bla bla, hasn't done that badly for the album
I don't know for the rest of the "negative people", but I personally have never said anything like that SIX weeks before the release. I know it might not be directed to me, but I'm just saying. (I'm pretty sure the song was premiered seven weeks ago so it wouldn't make much sense anyway. I was one of the first to praise the holy vocals from the girls on the song and how good it was in general  )

However, it was pretty obvious it was going to flop 3 weeks ago I would say. :( There is a pattern. An obvious one. And in the case of The Saturdays where they had so many flops in different settings (30 Days in Spring, Gentleman during the Summer and My Heart Takes Over during the Winter/End of the year, with or without promotion, with X or Y airplay/Youtube views/playlisting/etc), it's really easy to tell if a song is going to flop a few weeks before the premiere. That's the whole point, you see? The things were already clear a few weeks ago. Otherwise we wouldn't have made such assumptions.

I'm not gonna lie, though, I do find rather endearing the positivism of some members (Lee a few weeks ago, LoveKiller in general, Joseph, all my babes  ). I just wish some of you were more objective. It doesn't concern you Jonjo, I don't even remember who it was, but you know that you're grasping at straws when your argument to defend the fact Disco Love isn't going to flop is that the song is #1498 on airplay instead of #1500 like Gentleman was at that time (exageration, obviously, but I thought I might give it a go too  )

Disco Love is lush, just like Gentleman was, so I would be really gutted if this flops even harder than Gentleman. I'm hoping for something better for Disco Love, and hopefully one more single of the album (which is set to be amazing. :cheer:  )

Oh no, I definitely see what you mean (and as you know, this wasn't particularly aimed at you). As I said a few weeks or so ago, it seemed to be the same people spouting crap and generally not giving it a realistic chance, whatsoever. It was all happening far too early (way too soon to judge on airplay and other things), so there really wasn't any "realism" behind their responses, other than them not personally liking the song. Like I said though, Shadow (if it is indeed him on the other forum) has apparently been told about it before on another forum, so that should tell him something, no?

I wouldn't have gone off on one/ranted as much as I have done had it been now/2 or 3 weeks ago. It just seemed like they were just stating it to cause a stir and it got on my nerves. It was constant. (Shadow also did a similar thing about 'Same Love'! Moaning about airplay/it's iTunes position despite it not being fully sent to radio at that time. Maybe that's what contributed to it looking like it was a constant thing).

I'm really not one to moan usually, but when something gets on my nerves, I like to get it out there majority of the time. Sorry if you thought any of this was aimed at you Hurricane, it wasn't. You're definitely one of the more objective fans on here.

Oh and I'm usually rubbish at wording things. So some things might not come across the way I intend them too.

You take forums and opinions far too seriously. The fact you can remember my username and what I've been posting about other songs should tell you that you maybe need to get out more.

I'm a bit bored of being targeted for negativity when Lee Wallace and several others (who's names I don't remember) are much worse than me. The promo just got announced and we had people complaining it was shit and that management don't care about them etc. Did you say anything to them? It seems like a personal attack on me because I'm positive alot of the time, yet whenever I mention something to do with airplay or pre-orders not looking good it's "OMG STOP BEING NEGATIVE YOU JUST WANT ATTENTION!!1".

I think Disco Love is shit - definitely one of their weakest singles - and I don't think it'll be a hit at all. It's at #315 on pre-orders right now and the album isn't even anywhere near the top 400 on pre-orders and it's out the week after. Yay!! :D Let's celebrate the fact that it's actually in the pre-order chart at all! :D

Don't worry Jonjo, it's all good. Believe me, I know how it feels to be rubbish at wording things. So, it's all good babe.

Let's just all listen to Mollie's verse on Not Giving Up, it will make us feel better and relaxed.

Why does every single release have to turn into an argument and there isn't any need for the way you two are bitching at each other. It's a bloody single release. Whether is flops or not remains to be seen and then maybe you can start your 'I TOLD YOU SO' arguments!!

Wow someone's pressed. It's not TOUGH to remember usernames pet, or what you post, seeing as it's actually quite repetitive.

Many people in this AF are negative but I and clearly others feel that you're one of the main ones, you rarely have something positive to say about the girls and it's better to be optimistic, no? As I've said before, it's doing better than Avril's Here's to Never Growing Up which went to #14 so I don't think we have any need to worry about it doing worse than Gentleman at least, especially as sales are actually quite low.

Try and remain OPTIMISTIC rather than "omg this is shit it's gonna flop the album's low on pre-orders end of the world omg" cause that's what it feels like ALL THE TIME.

I'd rather be realistic. If I see signs the single is going to flop then I'm going to post it. Deal with it.

You can be optimistic all you like, it doesn't bother me. You need to stop getting upset if someone has a different opinion from you. If you think a 100K selling single again is a success then that's fantastic. Good for you. If I think it's shit, then I'm going to say it's shit and you should respect that instead of whinging at me all the time.

Releasing on such a busy week is really going to harm it. 'Wrecking Ball', 'Beserk', 'Cheating' and 'R U Crazy' are obviously going to go in higher than it. If it hadn't been released on such a busy week I would say it would probably go in around 8-10, now with 4 new entries in front of it I think it will go in somewhere between 12-15.
