Sadly it will get to number one but I'm doubting that it will make 100k, Avicii's pre order was #10 before its release and sold over 250k and Robin was #11 and sold 190k so I suspect she may end up around 85-95k, maybe though I'd rather it would just flop and let Avicii have that 4th week!!

I had a feeling Lana would stall at 5 but given that it sold enough copies in 24 hrs to chart on Sunday I can't complain and top 5 would be such an achievement for the track!!

Difference being, both Robin and Avicii were released a lot earlier than scheduled and Miley's been top 200 since the pre-order became available. So I think she's done enough to go over 100k. Whether it will be enough to overtake Avicii (who's video play should increase on channels this next week as the video has now "officially" premiered), who knows. But it's definitely an Avicii vs. Miley vs. Tinie battle. I think it's too soon to rule Tinie out completely, tbh.

I really hope Avicii could hang on for a fourth week but I guess we'll have to see but after 1D didn't sell 80k with preorders it will be a very interesting week! I agree Tinie could be a surprise and if avicii cant be number 1 I'd rather Tinie over Miley, even though I'm not into Trampoline I think it's more interesting musically!

Katy Perry is releasing her new single 'Roar' on August 13th worldwide (which is a Tuesday).

EDIT: It's fake.  I was so up for some new K-Pezza music.

Quick question. Shane Filan's debut single is being released as part of an ep and was showing

Up in the album charts as the preorder. When it is released will it be eligible for the

Single charts? It's a 4 track ep.

Whether it will reach the top 75 however is a totally different question

Can't wait for Miley to get to no1., amazing, different and relevant song, completely the opposite to that Trampoline mess.

Come on, Miley!

Don't just break the top ten for the first time, own it at no.1!

OH MY GODDDDDDDD :dddddddD When was this announced?

Amazing! She needs to release on Sunday though to smash that no.1

That is true, it's what I asked in her forum. She doesn't usually release OA/OS here.

Well her album is coming out late October, so hopefully it premieres in August and released in September (I don't think they'll release it OA/OS but hopefully they only hold it back for a few weeks)

Having said that, I would also like it if Lady GaGa and Katy Perry both released their songs in the same week, the iTunes thread would be very interesting

Dunno who I'd support! :o

Obviously Katy has the better singles, but GaGa needs a no.1 after the Born this Way fiasco.

It depends on what their new songs sound like, of course - but judging on their previous material I would support GaGa over KP.

Katy Perry is massively overrated. She has 'Hot N Cold' and 'Teenage Dream' but that's about it tbh

California Gurls, Wide Awake, Firework, all amazing singles!

She did eccentric better than GaGa last time too.

Katy would probably do worse in the first week, but sell more in the long run.

Isn't it usually the opposite with them both?

GaGa sustains 80k sales for a while, never selling loads in one week.

It depends on the lead single. They got the whole 'Teenage Dream' era absolutely spot on for Katy Perry. 'California Gurls' only had 1 or 2 weeks of UK airplay then the video was released as the song became available to download. Ended up selling 127k in its first week iirc which was brilliant sales for 2010. If they get the marketing spot on again, and the lead single has mass appeal, Katy could easily do 150k first week.

As for Lady GaGa well, who knows how that's going to pan out.

Katy has never done a pre-album on air, on sale single, so I can't really compare. But I assume Lady Gaga would do better in the first week since she seems to have a larger, more devoted fanbase. From their previous albums, Katy's singles were more successful, at least in the UK, so if that continues she would sell more in the long run.

That was true with The Fame era, but Born This Way sold ~140k in its first 7 days and kept falling from there and her other singles weren't that big (although The Edge of Glory did alright for itself in the end but nowhere near 80k in one week)

Pretty much this, to be fair. GaGa is the most unpredictable this era.

Also, speaking of Capital, I haven't had a radio signal from them in daaays. It's really weird. Anyone know why?

They changed frequency on Monday. Not sure what it is now but it should have changed automatically.

Yeah, Katy is never going to get over 100,000 first week with an on air, on sale release imo, whilst Lady Gaga is capable of that. California Gurls was held back, which is why it had such high first-week sales. So if this scenario did happen, I would be almost certain Lady Gaga would sell more first week, she had big first-week sales, she even got #1 on iTunes with a promo single.

I'm just making these assumptions based on their past chart success.

Ahh right. I have a dab radio and it hasn't updated, just says station unavailable and you have to cycle through pre-set stations so not sure how to get it back.
