:manson: So Miley’s novelty record looks like topping the chart, what a nadir for music in 2013! Definitely up there with DJ Otzi and the Crazy Frog for sheer banality in the 21st Century. Hannah Montana gone bad eh?! More like turned up into a desperate attention seeking skank. :puke2:

Shame the run of excellent run of No1's from Duke Dumont to Avicii has come to a screeching halt! :snif:

Hurrah for Tinie Tempah/2 Chainz, looks like a sure top three smash. :D

We Cant Stop is AMAZING  sooo happy its no.1  cant wait to hear her full album! imagine if that goes no.1 in the UK too!
It will

I must have misread ... I thought I saw you write John Newman is boring?

He is. Pink is better.

Even if this remix is fake, the credit is still to Ellie Goulding and "Burn"; so I'm interested to see how they'll deal with it.

Great to see Miley at #1, it's such a grower; and good on her for finally getting a UK T10!

Nice to see Tinie Tempah so high already too, hopefully a #3 peak is looking likely now. Am remaining hopeful that it won't fall too quickly either.

Tinie #3 already :cheer: He is doing a lot better than I was expecting after his EP stalled outside the top 100 so far. I shouldn't doubt Godnie.

 17. Burn (Alienator Remix) - Ellie Goulding

This doing so well definitely bodes well for the real version to smash next week. If sales of this are counting as official sales it could be looking at a top 40 debut this week even if it gets deleted partway through the week (which I'm sure it will).

I think if it's real version so it will hurt next week huge sales.

And the run of amazing number 1s is bought to a crashing halt. Big UGH @ We Can't Stop.

Whilst the prospect of Ellie having a number 1 is great, why must it be with a song so generic and americanised? :( It never fails to irritate me how all of Ellie's worst songs (Your Song, Starry Eyed, this one and to an extent Anything Could Happen, it's still great, but there was far better on the album) seem to do well and all her great songs (Under The Sheets, Guns & Horses, The Writer, Figure 8) do next to nothing...

He is. Pink is better.

She could never, ever.

He has the most unique voice and sings so well

I loved Anything Could Happen and Your Song but agree about The Writer/ Figure 8.

I also don't care much for Burn :/

I'm really intrigued about how Katy and GaGa will do in the coming weeks with 'Roar' and 'Applause' respectively. Katy is far more consistent than GaGa in terms of how her releases are received by the general public so she should be looking at another #1 but for some reason I can see her peaking at #2/#3 unless 'Roar' is something AMAZING. Many artists have #1 lead singles for their first couple of album campaigns and then fail to get another during their third one (GaGa, Beyonce [on her fourth], Christina, Britney etc). I'd put money on 'Applause' being a bigger hit than 'Born This Way'. 'Born This Way' was never going to be well-received after the ridiculous overreaction/praise to the Fame Monster era. It was extremely cheesy and unoriginal though so I guess it deserved a backlash. I do get the feeling though that 'Applause' will be mega-cheesy. I also sense it'll be a bit of a Queen rip-off. I don't know why.
Can't really stand Ellie Goulding either. Her voice is whiny and feels forced.

Completely agreed about Born this Way - Steps-lite choruses, cheesy lyrics, she could have done so much better. If Applause is back to the Fame Monster quality, with little to no pretension, no.1. Katy needs a massive single to get back into the public's mindset, but she has done it each time - I Kissed A Girl, California Gurls, Part of Me, so far. And you're right about her being more consistent, she is usually really popular.

Chezza, don't shade the GODDESS of Miley Cyrus when she had long hair .

I would have hated ' Your Song ' to be Ellie Goulding's first number one, it was incredibly irritating! My favourite Ellie song is ' Anything Could Happen ' or ' Starry Eyed '. I'm sure if ' Starry Eyed ' was released now it would have been an easy top 3 smash.

1. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop

3. Tinie Tempah - Trampoline (feat. 2 Chainz)

184. Mk1 - Let Go (Radio Edit)

189. Brookes Brothers - Carry Me On (Radio Edit) [feat. Chrom3]

919. Mr Hudson - Fred Astaire

1194. Brookes Brothers - Carry Me On (Club Mix) [feat. Chrom3]

 13. Burn (Alienator Remix) - Ellie Goulding

^ LOL oh dear. I still can't see her getting #1 next week tbh (especially if Katy Perry is releasing OA/OS)

The trouble with 'Born This Way' wasn't just that it wasn't a very good song, it's that it was a poor song that was supposed to be a hugely important statement. And then as soon as it came out, all the Gaga stans started saying 'Judas' was going to be the really massive song from the album but it turned out to be even worse.

I'm not sure she isn't repeating the same mistakes by drip-feeding all the announcements about the new single.

I got the feeling Miley might just stall later or start slowing down, and probably Avicii might just sneak back in there. Its not as if Miley has got an astronomical lead over Avcii.

Oops at Ellie Goulding being at #13. I think it's going to take a couple of thousand sales of the original now though!

I think Tinie Tempah will stall at #03 now, the gap is too big for him to overtake Avicii! I assume Miley will get opening sales of around 130,000 which is incredible as that will have outsold the majority of her singles.

210. Miley Cyrus - Party In The Usa [i assume this has sold a couple of thousand as it's been top 300 for the past month. 59 plz. ]

Her record company obliviously not noticing this is making me laugh.

And Tinie Tempah is fuck awful.
