Are they going be on X-Factor live or is it pre-recorded like when they done 'Story Of My Life'?
Moved this from the pop forum into to get you started ^_^

I've been listening to the album a lot lately (basically this and 'Skyscraper' is all I've had on with a few other tracks on the side ). Updated rate ~

10.0 | Story of My Life

10.0 | Diana

09.5 | Midnight Memories

09.5 | You & I

08.5 | Don't Forget Where You Belong

10.0 | Right Now

05.0 | Little Black Dress

08.5 | Better Than Words

07.0 | Why Don't We Go There

10.0 | Does He Know?

09.0 | Alive

08.0 | Half a Heart

'Does He Know?' is definitely the 'I Would' of the album, and I love it! So in love with both 'Best Song Ever' and 'Little White Lies' at the moment though!

I've just finished listening to the album all the way through for the first time and I wanted to share my thoughts.

I love this album. I think it's definitely the progression they referred to a while back and it's a lot more mature than their last two albums. My favourites at the moment are Diana, You and I, Strong, Happily and Something Great, but they're all good in their own way.

I really don't feel that Midnight Memories should have been their next release, although I can see the direction they're trying to take in releasing it - they're maturing in themselves so they want to show it in their music. I do feel there are many better offerings on the album which could easily have shown their development and progression in a better light.

I really want them to release Something Great. I think it really portrays their strengths and I believe they'll gain new, more mature fans as well as appealing to the general public in the process.

All in all a strong album - one I'll be playing for a while to come!

I bought this album a couple of days ago - my first 1D album! I had heard UAN all the way through on youtube, but wasn't tempted enough to buy it. I tried doing the same for TMH but really didn't like any song at the halfway stage and therefore abandoned it. I did the same for MM and liked it so much that I bought it! I never thought I'd buy a 1D album, lol. Harry's voice was 95% responsible for the purchase as it really suits this sort of music.

Still early days but faves so far are SOML, Diana, DFWYB, Happily and Alive. I like MM too but it does sound a bit rock-by-numbers, especially now it's confirmed to be a single.

Will rate the songs when I've had a few more listens!

Official chart positions (29/12/13):

09 Story of My Life · 4-5-8-10-3-2-9-10-9

34 Best Song Ever · 2-5-9-14-12-15-18-21-29-33-44-48-51-59-66-78-69-57-42-60-71-68-34

Great to see 'Story of My Life' getting a boost (even if it's a small one!) from gift cards, as well as 'Best Song Ever' (YAY). Two of their best singles so glad they're doing well!

I'm so pleased 'Story Of My Life' is having great longevity, 9 weeks top 10 is a fantastic achievement for them! And YAY for the album still top 3, hopefully it can be the year's biggest seller!

Given I'm loving 'Midnight Memories' so much right now, I really wouldn't mind if it overtook Emeli. Definitely deserves all of the sales, so hopefully it can snatch it!

Also, 'What Makes You Beautiful' charted in the top 100 this week at 98!

The album is the YE #1! :cheer:

Sales of 75,822 this week (while Emeli sold 15,283 with 'Our Version of Events') put them just 1,846 sales ahead of her to take the crown!

Not even bitter because OVOE's had a year, and I'm in LOVE with MM right now, so very happy for the boys!

Very close in the end then! They're turning into quite the albums artist aren't they?

Listening to this for the rate and have fallen head over heels in love with 'You & I'. So simple yet so beautiful. Wow.

Possible contender for a full single release i hope?

Official chart positions (05/01/14):

Dropping out (top 40 only): 34 Best Song Ever · 2-5-9-14-12-15-18-21-29-33-44-48-51-59-66-78-69-57-42-60-71-68-34

Great to see them get 10 weeks top 10 with 'Story of My Life'! Starting to love it even more every time I listen to the album, and I can see it sticking around in the top 20 for a few weeks yet.

Acoustic version of 'Happily':

That is gorgeous. We need some more acoustics from the album, tbh. I'd love to hear a stripped back version of 'Best Song Ever' (much like Gabrielle Aplin's Live Lounge cover).

It's a gorgeous song. 1D's record label are useless when it comes to singles - release 3 and that's it. They're too obsessed with chart positions. If they had a sensible strategy You and I would be the 4th single. It's my favourite song from MM.

Glad to see it's not free-falling after dropping out the top 10, hopefully it still has a couple of weeks left in the top 40!

album 4 will be out by by November, I hope it's more poppy. ;)

I hope not! More of the same please. As long as they give Harry the most solos

'Midnight Memories' has been named the best selling global album of 2013!

One Direction's 'Midnight Memories' album has been named as the best selling album globally in 2013.

Information provided by the BPI confirms that the X Factor boyband's latest album sold four million copies in just five weeks and taking them past Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' to the top of the list. 'Midnight Memories' was Number One in 19 countries following its release in November 2013.

The data was collected by amassing physical sales figures as well as downloads and streams. Adele's '21' topped the same chart in 2012 and 2011.

The BPI's Gennaro Castaldo announced One Direction as Global Recording Artist of 2013, saying: "Around one in eight albums sold around the world are by British artists, and One Direction are certainly playing their part in maintaining this fantastic achievement.

"It all helps to add up to a golden decade of global success for British music, and with some huge albums out later this year, not least from the likes of Coldplay in May and a rumoured new release from Adele, there must be another good chance that a British artist will again top the global best-sellers list come the end of the 2014."

Meanwhile, One Direction have announced plans to release their single 'Midnight Memories' on vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day 2014. The picture disc will also feature a live version of 'Rock Me', taken from the motion picture One Direction: This Is Us.

So happy for them that they managed not only the UK but the world!
