I think it debuted at #4, but I think it was a "mid week" release.

I think Applause will do well, but not to the degrees some other people in here are thinking.

There was much more hype around her in the UK when she released Born This Way. She'll do well, but I'd be surprised if she beat Ellz.

It is I!

Even i was a fan of Lady Gaga i wouldn't wake up that early just to buy her song and i have to wake up early anyway

I'm really doubtful about Gaga's success this era. I feel like it could and should be big but i can't see it happening for some reason. Would love to be proven wrong of course, but after being continually disappointed with decisions they made last era i just want them to get it right this time.

 12. Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (feat. Majid Jordan)

 38. Katy Perry - Roar

While she doesn't have the same level of profile she had back in 2011, 'Applause' is still going to get the same amount of airplay that BTW got worldwide since her last album didn't flop. If anything, the general public (non fans) are more likely to give 'Applause' a chance since GaGa has been out of the public for nearly two years while BTW was released less than a year after her last single and both her and her fans completely overhyped her comeback to the point where she (deservedly) underperformed.
Who's gonna wake up at 5AM just to buy Lady Gaga?

I'm usually up at 5am anyway.

Wow! :o Drake songs usually go into free-fall at this point though. Fingers crossed this doesn't.

Which is exactly why I don't think this will hit #1 in the UK this week. Plus Applause is pretty average. The fans aside, I'm just not sure there will be that much interest in casual music buyers to buy the track with the limited exposure it will have this week, compared to Burn.

It will be interesting to see how Lady Gaga does and what strategy they will use for this album. While born this way era did well there is no denying it did not perform as well as expected. Im confident applause will make the top 5 but how high within it im not sure of.

Lame release... such a shame. Out only in the US, and TOO LATE for this week, and not on streaming site even in the US and the rest of the world didn't get it on ITUNES yet.

^ It's on Canada iTunes as well I think.

I hope it gets released on a Friday again.

Scared she's gonna slay?
