November 29, 20159 yr Author One More Time 10th! After a miserable year, FSR Rontvia have finished 10th with One More Time's Highland in Aeroche! This marks our second (and final) top ten hit of the year and a long overdue hit. Ricardo Delta said: "We never really expected this song to resonate so well, especially after the initial Dubtrack response, which was not exactly positive, but we concede that many of the songs fans may not use the service. Highland has been a large hit in FSR Rontvia and we're so grateful for all of the points and to be back in the top ten, which nobody predicted, least of all us!"
November 30, 20159 yr Ahh well done Rich! While I rewarded 'Fight For What's Right' in a small way, I'm so glad I could get behind another FSR Rontvia entry in a bigger way like I did with '7even'. Top 10 is a fab result *.* Really good song, quite Abba-esque as has been pointed out.
December 23, 20159 yr I actually bought Highland. It's just stuck with me so much.... so much so I'd probably give it 18 now :(
December 23, 20159 yr Author Ooh, good to hear! It's a legendary schlager classic, glad you like <3 Can't believe it was Nanne's first outing to BJSC too!
January 20, 20169 yr Author Pegboard Nerds serve a dubstep epic for 81! Danish/Norwegian dubstep duo Pegboard Nerds, a chart force in FSR Rontvia around four years ago with the gorgeous Ingen Anden Drøm, have returned with the spectacular Emoji, a heartbreaking tribute to internet culture that has brought the genre racing back to my affections. Ricardo Delta said: "Emoji caught our attention immediately due to a simple, but lovely melody and then we caught the video, which in some ways is thematically similar to last month's BJSC winner, but with real actors and scenarios I'm sure we can all relate to." The Rontvian charts ceased publication at the end of 2015, at which point Emoji had peaked at No.5. It would currently be roaring ahead at No.1 if the charts were still recorded, having sold 134,298 copies over the past week, 50,000 more than EFF's Stimme. ovrGzbsQZqc
February 15, 20169 yr Author Pixie Paris for 82! Seven and a half years after we sent Pixie Lott to BJSC with the future UK #1 Boys & Girls, it's time for another Pixie. German male/female duo Pixie Paris released Es Rappelt Im Karton two years ago but it's only recently started gaining attention in Germany after appearing on an advert for sex toys! Ricardo Delta said: "Pixie Paris are sort of like The Ting Tings and this track has similarities to We No Speak Americano in places, so of course we were going to fall in love with this duo and song in FSR Rontvia. We love the 'ton ton ton ton ton' hook and the way that they make the German language sound sultry by putting a French lilt onto it. The song is already a big hit here, having already sold 210,000 copies in two weeks, putting it comfortably at the the top of the live sales rankings. We will be in Germany later this week so hope to hear the song on TV!" Video: RccxdO2C1mI Advert: whqxQqZGxFk Edited February 15, 20169 yr by gooddelta
April 12, 20169 yr Author Going Rome to free a Prisoner UK singer-songwriter Sam Romans, aka RØMANS, will represent FSR Rontvia in the 83rd edition of BJSC, to be held in Ethanola. The pop, rap and UK garage inspired track, Prisoner, opens and closes with raps by Dublin-based Rejjie Snow, and features some fantastic bright vocals throughout from Sam. RØMANS featured on Naughty Boy's flop single Home and has also written for Mary J. Blige, Birdy, Disclosure, Gorgon City, Kwabs, Clean Bandit and Olly Murs. Ricardo Delta said: "RØMANS is a real emerging UK talent, a fantastic songwriter and highly underrated as a singer. This track really struck us on first listen as something that should really be all over the radio worldwide by now. Sam's stellar vocals contrast wonderfully with Rejjie's darker raps, that suggest the prisoner is longing for freedom at the end of the track. We also really adore the closing percussion on this track, which has gone straight into the top five on both Spotify and iTunes in FSR Rontvia. We would love this song to be well received after rare consecutive top 20 finishes with Emoji and Es Rappelt Im Karton." http://cdn.pigeonsandplanes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/RomansPub-326x400.jpeg Edited April 12, 20169 yr by gooddelta
April 12, 20169 yr Author I entered it to 76 and came 38th :drama: AHnNFqDD804 Yes sorry :drama: I had a brainfart and was thinking about something else. I did like that track and still do looking back. It's more poppy but I think I'm more taken by the garage influence of Prisoner as I'm really into that sound at the moment, I wanted to send something of that ilk and this has been in my head all week since I first heard it while in Chester last week  think this is the first time I've recycled an Ashton artist!
April 17, 20169 yr Author This has a video now too (perfect for Dubtrack listening sessions ;p though I prefer the longer version on Soundcloud so I'll stick to that in the main voting thread) OEWxI_3QTjc Edited April 17, 20169 yr by gooddelta
May 18, 20169 yr Author KOLAJ hoping to touch the final with BJSC 84 entry LA-based duo KOLAJ describe their sound as Ëuphorock, and their BJSC 84 entry for FSR Rontvia, The Touch, is certainly euphoric, though not particularly rocky. The track starts off quite lush with a laidback folky soundscape before a summery dance beat and infectious drop kick in, enrobing an irresistible chorus. Ricardo Delta said: "The Touch is rather beautiful and layered with lovely vocals. We knew that we had to ask KOLAJ to represent us this month after hearing the track only once. The song is currently #3 on the Rontvian Spotify chart, just behind Poli Genova's If Love Was A Crime and Delta Goodrem's Dear Life. It's also been Shazam'd more than 50,000 times in the Constarvan branch of H&M, where it currently plays roughly once an hour." 1m70j2iLdZo
May 23, 20169 yr Fun fact: Cal, the featured artist on St. Burbia's current entry, appears to be a pseudonym of former FSR Rontvia artist Frida Amundsen! :magic:
May 23, 20169 yr Author Ooh, how about that! If it was our very own Cal featuring that would have been even better *.*
June 1, 20169 yr Author KOLAJ score surprise top five KOLAJ have returned FSR Rontvia to the top five for the first time since Ulf Nilsson's Little By Little finished third in the first contest of 2015. The Touch took home a brilliant 274 points from 36 countries, receiving the third most votes in the contest, despite quite middling odds and a reaction on Dubtrack that placed it just within the top 20. Ricardo Delta said: “It's incredible, it's been a long time since we've had a dark horse but this one snuck into the top five with four songs that were rather more expected to be there. KOLAJ are elated to notch up another top five hit for FSR Rontvia and are incredibly grateful for all the votes.” The Touch has been top five in the Rontvian Spotify and iTunes charts since late April and is nearing the year to date top ten. It is also at the top of the 'Summer Hits' playlists on all good streaming services.
June 13, 20169 yr Author Real Lies ride the North Circular for 85 FSR Rontvia's 85th entry to the BuzzJack Song Contest is an ode to London's North Circular area, and the communities within it. Musically it's a cross between The Streets, Example, Pet Shop Boys and New Order, and the piano bassline evokes early 90s dance heaven. Ricardo Delta said: "North Circular is gorgeous, it brings feelings of nostalgia and warmth even if you've never heard it before, particularly if you're familiar with the areas of London the lyrics focus on." North Circular has debuted at #1 on both the Rontvian Spotify and iTunes chart, knocking off Delta Goodrem's Dear Life on both charts. KOLAJ's The Touch, which finished fifth in BJSC 84, remains top three in both listings. oojMM3APqK8
