I really like this! My fave from you since '7even' easily, reminds me a lot of 'Blinded By The Lights' (which is a v good thing). Think your own odds for it are probably overselling it a bit but I'm v much here for this being a hit please. I think I thought the same thing about KOLAJ after all and look how that turned out :kink:

Great entry this month! It sounds like something that will be battling for top points from @Jade

A wave of Turkish darkness for 175 After two middling results with pop songs just over two minutes long, FSR Rontvia has decided to leave the wonderful pop nations to what they do best and are ringin

  • In predictable fashion... this is nothing short of incredible 🖤

*.* Always here for some Bré appreciation! Yeah it definitely has a Streets vibe to it, which I love. Haha yes, I'm not sure what compelled me to give those odds for it, as really I'm just hoping it qualifies right now after a couple of DNQ predictions!

Olivia for 86!

FSR Rontvia have selected Swedish singer/songwriter and vocal powerhouse Olivia Thorn to represent us in the 86th edition of BJSC, held in Beaverdonia and Ashton. The sassy number has a fantastic chorus, brassy pop production that sounds like Fleur East, Louisa Johnson, Agnes and early Christina Aguilera whirring through a pop blender and the brilliant Velvet-esque lyric 'gotta play your cards right when you're dealing with the queen'.

Ricardo Delta from the RTVN said: "Olivia is a self-assured independent woman who knows what she wants. I'm Not Your Lady is classic Rontvian pop, a killer chorus, an even better middle eight, thumping power pop production and stunning vocals. We're proud to have her as our representative, particularly in a semi-final held in Ashton, the spiritual home of Scandipop."

I'm Not Your Lady is at #2 in both the Rontvian iTunes and Spotify charts, only behind Enough by Delta Goodrem & Gizzle on both metrics. It's in heavy rotation on every radio station in the country, receiving 5,940 plays last week and a further 600 plays of the video across the RTVN.

I am LOVING this. A proper old school FSR banger. Very fitting that it ended up in the Ashtonise semi final! I expect there will be a fair few Rontvian flags in the crowd.

Yess, it's a very fitting semi and host country indeed  FSR Ashvia for the final please.

Hopefully but getting country through ain't easy!!

I've rediscovered the utter joy that is Sweet California. Think today might have to be a big of an FSR Ashvia day musically *.*

True, it's a strong song though! Fingers crossed.

This Is The Life  They've become properly huge in Spanish speaking countries now since I sent that, think their recent album has been #1 in Spain for months and they're crossing over to South America now.

I must admit your track has grown on me still listening to the last 15 tracks I've chosen, need to ditch a few now. Semi 2 is a killer, I can see myself struggling now or lose out by a few points. :drama:

It's a strong semi isn't it, quite varied overall which always makes it difficult to vote. Hard to tell who will DNQ as there don't seem to be any completely obvious DNQs to my ears.

Not posting potentials as I only really had the one song in contention, but I'll be sending my first Chilean act *.*

Ortiga bring a global flavour to 86!

Germany-based Chilean world music band Ortiga will represent FSR Rontvia in the 87th contest in Pupok and Yehesi with Ilumbarada. The Enigma-esque track has already gone to #2 in the Rontvian Spotify chart and #1 on iTunes.

Ricardo Delta said: 'Ilumbarada is something completely different from FSR Rontvia. We may be on a qualification roll but we refuse to play it safe, we absolutely adore this very special track with its magical melody, euphoric chorus and uplifting key change and we hope other countries enjoy this track.'

This song is just absolutely magical  Didn't think you'd ever top Mr Little Jeans but I think this has just pipped it. It's like Enigma crossed with 'Baba Yetu' <3

Where did you come across this? It appears to be an album track from 2000, quite an obscure choice (but thank you so much for picking it up out of the archives)!

<3 Wow, incredibly kind words, I'm really glad you're a fan!

I found it on a German compilation called Bravo Hits 32 last month, it really stood out on first listen to me, mainly because I thought 'wow, this was a hit somewhere?'. Turns out I think they were successful album sellers in Germany so Ilumbarada was more of a token inclusion to represent that. Usually I'd think twice about sending something so old but world music is a pretty timeless genre, it could have been released yesterday or in 1990.

So thrilled that this gave you a second top 5 this year (and a third top 10! You're on fire in 2016~) - this song really was so standout and one I knew I'd love within about 10 seconds. Glad I could give you top marks for the first time!

(Also came to say that 'The Touch' just came on shuffle on my BJSC 2016 Finalists Spotify playlist and it has just clicked with me! *.*)

Thank you so much for the 18, still getting my head around three top tens in four contests <3 The early Brade hype really lifted my belief with Ilumbarada because after opening with a couple of DNQ predictions I thought it was all over!

Ooh fantastic :D The Touch does sound so much better when the sun is shining I find.

Theia's Roam to represent FSR Rontvia in Cor Lupus

After a shock top five last month with Ortiga's world music anthem Ilumbarada, FSR Rontvia have decided to go more straightforward this time around by just sending a thoroughly excellent pop song. Rising New Zealander Theia has been tipped in her home country for big things and is hopefully soon set to break out internationally. The track has already topped both the Spotify and iTunes charts in FSR Rontvia.

RTVN's Ricardo Delta said: "It was instant love when we first heard Roam by Theia, the track has the contemporary pop production of the likes of Dua Lipa and Justin Bieber but the quirky attitude and style seen in fellow New Zealanders making a mark right now such as Lorde and Broods. The chorus stuck in our head after the first listen and the 'everywhere I roam is home' post-chorus hook is pretty irresistible. We hope the BuzzJack world enjoy this track and emerging talent as much as we do!"

This shit is real

Brighton-based singer-songwriter Alyss has been drafted in to represent FSR Rontvia in Jadakissina and Persephonia's jointly hosted 89th edition of the BuzzJack Song Contest. She is hoping to do better than Theia, who snuck into the final last month and then narrowly avoided the bottom five with Roam.

T S I E R (which stands for This Shit Isn’t Even Real, which you may guess from the chorus) has already gone as high as No.2 in the Rontvian streaming, sales and airplay charts. The RTVN’s Ricardo Delta said: “We were really struck by the infectious production in this song, and the melody is a huge earworm too, it’s really quite a hypnotic track with great lyrics. I’m from Brighton too before I moved to FSR Rontvia so it’s great to support a local talent."

Alyss, whose other singles released so far are said to encapsulate the spirit of artists such as Disclosure and Jessie Ware, added: “I’d been studying shaman teachings around that time and there was one principle that I couldn’t get out my head: dreams are real and reality is a dream. Both are equally as real as they are hallucination. The more I dissected the concept, the more it tripped me out. In a good way. It’s mad how such simple words have completely changed how I view existence. I guess making T S I E R was like an audible screenshot of that perspective shift.”

Oh after seeing this post (i.e. remembering what the title stands for) I realise I have actually heard this already as well! Can't think where, think it was just a random song I found while searching for potentials (or maybe it was in PJSC or something). This is continuing your run of good entries lately anyway!

Ooh nice glad you like! I heard it through the Spotify Release Radar, have noticed it on a couple of blogs since though too.
