August 31, 201311 yr I'd have preferred the top two to be the other way round but they're both pop classics as far as I'm concerned. Euphoria is the weakest song in the top 10 by some distance for me, although I do genuinely like some of Loreen's other songs - especially Crying Out Your Name, Everytime and My Heart Is Refusing Me.
August 31, 201311 yr A pleasant overall result. I've always considered Bad Romance a little overrated, and would have preferred a win for With Every Heartbeat, but it's still a great song. Titanium is the weak link of the top 10 for me - but maybe that's simply because of how overplayed it is, and I'll have warmed to it again by next year.
September 1, 201311 yr Mr Brightside is the perfect song!It really is! I have NO IDEA why I love it so much to call it my favourite song of all time, I just do. It seems to balance most core genres in one and manages to succeed in becoming one of the catchiest and most anthemic songs of all time, it's played so much in clubs because it's a crowd pleaser. The reason it has so many fans I think is because it's a dance song, rolled into a pop song, rolled into an indie song... all at once. I get the feeling 'Little Lion Man' by Mumfords has gone/will go a similar way.Β Can't believe Euphoria is genuinely this high. Me and Jonjo were sort of half joking when it popped up in MF and we said it would storm that, storm Eurovision and smash into the UK top three, but it all actually happened. And now it's a Buzzjack classic too :lol:It's amazing! I'm so pleased you got me to check out that MF. I think you linked me to Danny's song first then I saw that Loreen (who had not too long before been given my 12 points in BJSC for 'Sober' - the original (and ultimate) version ofc) was set to perform at some point. And from first listen I was wowed (evidently).Β I remember plotting to spam the shit out of the song to get it noticed, because we realised it would have been a big hit without the Eurovision tag/proper push etc.. so we literally tried including it in every post we did for about a day or two and started getting the BJ hype train going. It seemed to work (much to everyone's annoyance, sure) but as per, I took it (maybe a little :kink:) too far, but I stand by that decision as it was with a purpose and not just to "spam the forum/threads" (unlike a lot of the loon/faux-looning that goes on on here - the weeks of The Sats/John Newman's latest releases is seriously one of the worst couple of weeks I think I've witnessed with my time on here! - I wasn't here for the peak of the infamous GA vs Sugababes fan rivalry incidents).Β But yeah I'm not afraid to say that 'Euphoria' is comfortably in my top 10 songs of all time. It's had enough plays for me to know whether I genuinely like it that much or not and honestly, I'm still not bored of it.Β Everytime should be in its position tbh.I agree with this! I adore 'Toxic' and it definitely deserves it's position inside the top 10 as it's a bonafide pop classic, but on a personal level and as a big fan of Britney, it's not even top 5 in my fave Britney tracks (although I do appreciate it's status as a classic and am not going to be shooting it down), whereas 'Everytime' is my 2nd favourite song ever and so I'm obviously a little bit annoyed that it isn't in 'Toxic''s place, even though I think it really deserves to be. But ah well.Β Also, I've seen a few comments (mostly in regards to 'Euphoria' - but other tracks too) say something along the lines of... "I do like it, but it seems a bit too soon/recent to be held in such high regards" or similar things. Well... if it's eligible to be nominated and voted for, then there shouldn't be a problem, imo. If people are as peeved off with a more recent song doing so well, don't vote for it. "Boycott" it when you do your votes. But like I said in my Loreen post above, I've personally listened to the song enough times to know where it is at in my affections.Β ANYWAYYYYYYY... Great countdown Eyes and thanks for taking so much time out of your schedule to do this for us! Amazing.
September 1, 201311 yr Yay for that top 5 in general and a stunning winner of course (being my fave). Thanks for this IzΒ 'My Heart Is Refusing Me' is far superior anyway but I'll probably always be alone on that one. You're not alone!
September 1, 201311 yr Robyn. What a QUEEN!Β I remember back in 2007 when my sister saw me watching the With Every Heartbeat video and laughed about Robyn's appearance and her speech. I distinctly remember wanting to slap her at that very moment.
September 1, 201311 yr I'm glad 'Euphoria' didn't win - for one thing, it's far too early, and for another, I'm off it at the moment. 'My Heart Is Refusing Me' is far superior anyway but I'll probably always be alone on that one. This. Totally.Β MHIRM (the old version) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Everytime >>> Euphoria
