September 10, 201311 yr Rooting for our lord and saviour Kimberly here. All this soggy bottom talk is really too much.
September 10, 201311 yr Author Mel's 'Of course she is' throwaway line after proclaiming Frances was making hers in the shape of a cherry tree with unnecessary complications was wonderfully done.
September 10, 201311 yr aww I'm so happy glenn made it through... it really was close between him and ali, bless him his first two dishes were a mess, especially the custard tarts :( he's so cute though. I've grown to love frances now, the way she goes so OTT with her presentation in everything she does makes me laugh.
September 10, 201311 yr Woo for Kimberley getting another star baker. It seems her and Ruby are the two frontrunners, with possibly Beca and Frances in with a shout.
September 10, 201311 yr I watched tonight’s late as the football was on so here are some notes I made as it went on. Rhubarb (or cherry-apple) pie, various apple pies. The peach balloon looks rather fun too although I did seem to be somewhat lacking in peach. I want to be a judge. I would have quite happily passed on the custard tarts just to be able to taste the fruit pies, even the one that didn’t taste of anything. As for the custard tarts themselves, they seemed to be a bit of a car crash. How many contestants thought “Oh, I’ll try and hide that one and hope they don’t notice”? Not too keen on a couple of the filo thingies either as I can’t stand figs and I’m not a great fan of dates. Some of the others looked good though such as Kimberley’s chicken, bacon and butternut squash. She and Ruby (rose, almond and raspberry sounds wonderful) are beginning to look like the ones to beat. All three of the ones who seemed most in danger (Glenn, Ali and Howard) all did rather better in the third challenge to make the final decision more difficult. No great surprise that it was Ali who went. Over the series so far he seems to have been winging it a bit. He seems to have his specialist areas and has been hoping for the best (and sometimes getting it) the rest of the time.
September 10, 201311 yr I really thought Glenn was for the chop after the Custardgate disaster round, but he improved in the showstopper round, so hats off to him, to get through. Ali and Christine were hovering on the edge as well. In the end they made the right choice to vote Ali out. Really surprised how well Ruby is doing now, when she was on the verge on leaving in the first episode, that must have a been a fluke for her, I'll be really surprised if she goes on to win it now. Frances is beginning to irritate me quite a bit with her presentations, in the end it boils down to the taste.
September 14, 201311 yr Utterly DELIGHTED that our SUPREME LEADER in all her glory was finally recognised this week. BEGIN THE REVOLUTION (have Ruby PURGED THIS INSTANT, I don't care if she's probably 152chris's crush of the year) Line of the week had to be Mel complimenting Glenn on his BEAUTIFUL RING. (Like HELL though, he probably doesn't take CARE of it) Further to the above the custard tart removal sequence is probably the most painful thing I've seen this YEAR, and that includes LIVE HÆMORRHOIDS
September 17, 201311 yr Was horribly convinced that howard was a gonner after that first round / tuile disaster. Ruby and kimb cutting it fine too tho what is HAPPENING.
September 17, 201311 yr A good round considering some of them had a shaky start and saved themselves at the last hurdle. I must admit that Dalek cake was awful, poor Rob exterminated himself. And that Bavarian Clock Cake was just too good to eat.
September 17, 201311 yr Loving this show, never watched before until this series. I really love Ruby and Kimberley. One thing I have learned though is I need food supplies to watch each episode! Watching on a diet is a killer!
September 22, 201311 yr Utterly DELIGHTED that our SUPREME LEADER in all her glory was finally recognised this week. September 22, 201311 yr Wish Ruby would kindly BORE OFF. moan moannnnn. Chris what are you thinking??? Christina & Howard 4eva ~ Ruby is very Goldsmiths tbh P.s. I shall NOT be moved
September 24, 201311 yr Howard is too much for me, he's like a parody of a fastidious sitcom character. I genuinely laugh at pretty much everything that he says as I find it comical.
