Plus, videos generally seem to be having very little effect thesedays... even for such a traditionally huge video artist like Rihanna, I think the release of the 'Stay' video barely had any impact on the song's sales (in the UK atleast).

True, but I think it was a VERY delayed video and I believe music channels were showing an unofficial video in the meantime, which would have had an effect and would explain why the official video didn't do much. I have no doubts that 'Talk That Talk', 'Pour It Up' and 'Right Now' would have been a lot bigger if they received music videos.

I do think that video effects can very though, depending how long the song has already been in the public eye for and how "big" the artist is.

I agree. I think often there's cases where the music video gives little boost, because it's released way too early when people don't know the song yet.

Anyone forgetting the Blurred Lines video of nekked ladies effect? ;)

I know people who knew of that song only through the viral vid.

But even in those cases, none of them except 'Judas' actually hit a new peak after the video like some people are expecting to happen this time, they just arrested their slides or just caused them to rebound.

Think it depends how soon after the radio airplay peaks it gets released if its a long time after it wont effect it!

That didn't seem to work for Justin Timberlake's 'Tunnel Vision' though. :P

This is definitely going top 5 now, who'd've thought they would ever be on a hit single in 2013?

:o is that from them performing it on This Morning / Daybreak / whatever it was?

Ray Foxx up to number 6, that's fantastic I'm so pleased its doing so well after that dodgy start on Sunday where I thought it would stall at the lower end of the top 40, should end up around 7/8 come Sunday!

Eww at Drake climbing...awful! But Lana climbing again with the original version of SS, hope this can go top 40 so both versions are charting and will help the overall sales this week!

I'm still not convinced this will go top 5. It might appear in the early chart update but I'm not expecting it to hold up that well its a tough one to call but exciting, we'll have to see next week

I don't think anybody would've done. 2013 has been a really bizarre year in the charts, I just expect to be surprised now.

ME!

I'm so happy that Melanie C is going to have another UK hit. I never thought it would happen ever again! I previously thought that 'Think About It' could have been a Top 40 hit for her, but sadly it could only peak at #95.

It would also be rather unexpected if this became Matt's biggest hit after 'When We Collide'. I can see 'Loving You' outlasting 'Run For Your Life'.

Matt & Mel to snatch the #1 from Klangkarussell since Gaga won't do it <3

It will never be the same again for her. :kink:
