Imagine Dragons - On Top Of The World (39) (CR-39-39) Matt & Mel C are surprisingly a good collaboration. Even more shocking is that Loving You will be a legitimate hit for both! Applause is a good song, but a bit underwhelming. I'm not sure if she'll ever go back to anything as commercially produced from The Fame/Monster era, so maybe I should lower expectations. Better than Born This Way though! Roar looks to be yet another Katy smash. Probably will be her 8th #1 in the US next week. I'm absolutely loving Royals. Lorde is reminding me of an 2013 version of Alanis Morrisette from 1995-1997 :) Great chart as always!
August 18, 201313 yr Hi 1. DJ Kent feat The Arrows - Spin My World (1) (CR-4-1-1) It's alright but it doesn't stick out for me 4. Matt Cardle & Melanie C - Loving You (5) (CR-16-5-4) I'm really surprised how well this is doing, the charts this year have spun a few oddballs  7. Katy Perry - Roar (19) (CR-19-7) The track is growing on me 8. Avicii feat Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up (3) (CR-20-OUT-15-13-2-1-1-1-1-2-3-8) 10. August 18, 201313 yr Hi Rich :P Surprised but pleased the flop artists Matt Cardle & Melanie C are top 10 on iTunes. :D Miss Gaga ahead of Miss Perry. :D That's great! Fantastic chart as Always.
August 18, 201313 yr Hi GD :D Apologies for the few weeks quiet from me in here! DJ Kent is good, solid, and I wouldn't mind it qualifying, but I think we're a bit out of sync BJSC-wise lately. :( Just listened to 'Maybe' for the first time - very good! Almost as good as 'All Over The World' which I still regard as one of the peaks of male scandipop. Headed to Swedish iTunes for my second purchase of the day - thanks again for the tip! Loving be able to play 'Roar'.

Lorde is reminding me of an 2013 version of Alanis Morrisette from 1995-1997 :) Great chart as always! Thanks West! Agree with you about Matt & Mel, first time I heard it I thought, two flopstars together to create a flop, but I'm glad that the quality of the song has won through. I love Applause, way more than Born This Way, but I think her absolute glory days are probably over now. Katy on the other hand is the sort of popstar that everyone can get on board with so I'm not surprised that Roar is doing better, it's a more simple song but has way more commercial appeal. Lorde is brilliant and Royals is very Regina Spektor-ish to me, loving it! Hi 1. DJ Kent feat The Arrows - Spin My World (1) (CR-4-1-1) It's alright but it doesn't stick out for me 4. Eliza Doolittle - Let It Rain (NEW) (CR-40) Thanks Martin, Loving You is brilliant, good to see it becoming a hit even though neither artist is particularly big anymore! The new Dannii track is a great pop song, very anthemic chorus. I loved Who Do You Love Now too but my favourite overall is You Won't Forget About Me  Hi Rich :P Surprised but pleased the flop artists Matt Cardle & Melanie C are top 10 on iTunes. :D Miss Gaga ahead of Miss Perry. :D That's great! Fantastic chart as Always. Thanks Jason! I do love a bit of Melanie C, and Matt can be alright, this single is great, hope it can go top ten officially! I love Applause and Roar, but I've always been a (slightly) bigger fan of Gaga than Katy, both are brilliant artists though.
August 18, 201313 yr Author Hi GD :D Apologies for the few weeks quiet from me in here! Almost as good as 'All Over The World' which I still regard as one of the peaks of male scandipop. Headed to Swedish iTunes for my second purchase of the day - thanks again for the tip! Loving be able to play 'Roar'. Thanks David :D I love it but maybe once again I've gone a bit too niche to properly smash, that piano hook just gets me every time though, I've even learnt how to play it on Garage Band  I actually really like your entry this time, although granted I didn't think much of your last. Would very much enjoy seeing you grab that first win! Yes, Maybe is right, it's strange as it sorts of sounds like MGMT producing a Scandipop song  Ola is very good, unpopular opinion but perhaps in my mind the most consistent Swedish male - Natalie, Love In Stereo, SOS, All Over The World, Maybe and so many more solid gold pop songs. He has quite a unique style too, not the usual dark haired poster boy. Matt'n'Mel rightfully SLAYING Dannii's new track is superb too  YES, so good! The Spanish version is shockingly pretty decent too. I've charted Matt in the past but this is his biggest hit by far, likewise Mel actually :o It is, FAR better than I was expecting :D

August 20, 201313 yr Hi Rich! My favourites this week: 4. Matt Cardle & Melanie C - Loving You (5) (CR-16-5-4) I never thought I'd see the day that Melanie had another Top 100 hit, let alone pushing for Top 10! Will be so happy if it's anywhere within the Top 20 tbh. 5. Lady Gaga - Applause (NEW) (CR-5) Really love this. The video is superb too. 7. Katy Perry - Roar (19) (CR-19-7) 8. Avicii feat Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up (3) (CR-20-OUT-15-13-2-1-1-1-1-2-3-8) 9. It does look like a bit of a flop by Delta's usual standards with that chart run, whoops :drama: I do love it but the way it ends weirdly put me off slightly but the new corrected version solves this problem! Hi Rich! I think Cher said that the version that leaked isn't the correct one? Sounds great anyway. 36. Naughty Boy feat Emeli Sandé - Lifted (34) (CR-19-17-OUT-27-34-36) Lovely chart! ^_^ Thanks Jay :D I'm really pleased at Loving You's success, a top 20 for an ex Spice Girl and former X Factor winner now best known for flopping hard is nothing to sniff at, it's a great song! I adore Applause too, will almost certainly be climbing in my next chart, already her best since The Edge of Glory for me. The Greatest Thing isn't quite that but it's still better than I expected, a great poppy song with a brilliant sugary melody/production, right up my street! I hope Flatline doesn't flop too hard but you may be right :(

The Greatest Thing is very instant, although indeed rather cheesy, quite Pet Shop Boys in their camper form imo!
August 22, 201313 yr Thanks Martin, Loving You is brilliant, good to see it becoming a hit even though neither artist is particularly big anymore! The new Dannii track is a great pop song, very anthemic chorus. I loved Who Do You Love Now too but my favourite overall is You Won't Forget About Me  The new single from the Pet Shop Boys is really growing on me a lot, it really sounds a lot like Go West in places, its got a great production over the track, I love to see PSB back at #1 somehow, mind you the year has been full of surprises it could still happen

It's hard to say r.e. Avicii because You Make Me is SO different to Silhouettes, you wouldn't know it was the same artist or vocalist!
