I'd forgotten this was out next week. I still feel it'd benefit from being pushed back a week (and then another week) but it could be doing worse I guess. I think it'll go top 20 but it really does sound like a top 5 so I'm a tad disappointed.

It HAS actually been pushed back to 27 October :D That'll hopefully help its chart peak slightly, top 20 would still be a good result for it!

I suppose such a boost was to be expected following the resurge of 'Let Her Go', but that is initially quite surprising! Wasn't aware a deluxe edition was out tomorrow, should mean it will easily pass 400k.

I think the boost is more to do with his appearance on Jools Holland than the X Factor use

I think a Katy/James Blunt top 2 is almost a certainty, Passenger may get back to #3 again if this deluxe version pays off for him. Andrea Bocelli will probably be top 10, not sure about Andrea Begley though :lol: She might do better than Leanne? Lawson will probably re-enter at least the top 20.

Sadly I think it's not going to do well. She has had little radio support and BBC Radio 2 haven't even given her any support (They playlisted Leanne IIRC). Plus, she hasn't done any promotion from what I can tell.

 

Although saying that, she's performing on Strictly tonight, so I hope that helps her out a bunch! :wub:

I wonder how much Katy is likely to sell this week? Teenage Dream opened with 54,176 but went on to be a million seller, so with 'Roar' being so huge I'd expect her to clear 100k. However, while I didn't pay too much attention to the progress of the pre-order, I do recall it not doing insanely well, so I feel as if she may be in for a disappointing début.

Yeah 'Prism' didn't do particularly fabulously (at least not until the week before release) - it should definitely beat the opening of 'Teenage Dream' but I would be surprised if she tops 100k. She's still primarily a singles artist though (even if 'Teenage Dream' was eventually a million seller) so a second #1 album is still pretty good for her.
