August 23, 201311 yr Author Have to start with this beauty. Been liking him for a while, and this seems to be his most accessible song yet. L01tpu3IKFY Also helps that he is delicious himself with an equally as hot voice to match. Starting to get a bit of radio support too which is good to see <3
August 24, 201311 yr If Sam Sparro ever went Urban, that's what 'Astronaut' would sound like. My recommendation is 'Dinner' by Blood Orange (aka Dev Hynes, producer of Solange's True ). I bought his album Coastal Grooves a few months ago and it's literally amazing. I'm stanning him big time atm. :D Y6byoavf3OA Edited August 24, 201311 yr by SceneofSIXCrimes
August 24, 201311 yr Author If Sam Sparro ever went Urban, that's what 'Astronaut' would sound like. You mean that in the best way possible i hope ! is so, so good too for those that have heard and like Astronaut. The video is so dark. My recommendation is 'Dinner' by Blood Orange (aka Dev Hynes, producer of Solange's True ). I bought his album Coastal Grooves a few months ago and it's literally amazing. I'm stanning him big time atm. :D Y6byoavf3OA This is good! Like straight out of the 90's with the video and all. Ashamed to say i haven't actually got round to listening to the True EP though properly yet (only heard it in bits apart from the Kendrick collab that came later - listening now and it's still just as good). Really should get on to the whole thing soon.
August 24, 201311 yr Adoring 'Astronaut' on first listen! I'd heard 'Back to Me' before and loved that but hadn't looked into his other stuff yet. That VOICE. Blood Orange/Solange also great recommendations, the True EP was one of my favourite releases from last year, can't wait for a new album.

Really should get on to the whole thing soon. Yeah definitely. Sam Sparro was great. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved BO's album. His other alias Lightspeed Champion wasn't really my thing so I'm shocked to say Coastal Grooves is one of my favourite albums ever. You and Cremey should give it a try if you both liked 'Dinner'. :D Hang on, there was a Kendrick collab? :o Need to give it a listen when my youtube speeds up. Other than 'Losing You', I'd say 'Some Things Never Seem to F*cking Work' and 'Bad Girls' are the EP highlights.
September 10, 201311 yr Author Fans of Yeezus might want to check out Travi$ Scott (he features on Guilt Trip with a similar sort of sound to the rest of the album and is present throughout Cruel Summer). Got an EP, Owl Pharaoh which is a bit of a riot and quite fun for the most part. 2Gf2vguUJCw Definitely my highlight from the stuff i've heard off him so far (along with Upper Echelon).
September 12, 201311 yr Ooh yay been waiting for this thread! Listen to nowhere near as much new music as a few months ago but if I find a gem I'll post it here.
November 20, 201311 yr Author So addicted to this special little remix: jaRsc8wTE30 Was entered into BJSC MONTHS ago and i'm still obsessed. Fast becoming one of my songs of the year <3
December 3, 201311 yr Seeing as there isn't a thread for this (I assume he's not big enough yet to warrant his own thread, maybe a mod could split a post into a new thread if he is?): L-hSHO_Lh0M Well this is f***ing MAGNIFICENT isn't it?! Edited December 3, 201311 yr by ★ G R I F F ★
December 3, 201311 yr ^ Childish Gambino is definitely big enough imo. He had a song (I think it was Heartbeat?) go viral on Youtube and top 100 on iTunes a couple of years ago, and I think even Radio 1 playlisted it. Plus he featured on a top 10 hit with Leona Lewis. I heard one of his songs once which I loved, but I've never found it again since... While I'm here: cC2ZgCEaLWs Edited December 3, 201311 yr by Eric_Blob
December 8, 201311 yr Author L-hSHO_Lh0M Well this is f***ing MAGNIFICENT isn't it?! YES it really is  A reliable source tells me it's top 100 on iTunes right now. Also featured on 'Bed Peace' with Jhene Aiko (the EP highlight <3) so check that out too!
January 14, 201411 yr Author I've been obsessing over 'True' since being reminded about it in this thread and giving it a spin. Are her albums also worth the venture into? 'Look Good With Trouble' is so special (the full Kendrick version AND the ~1 minute EP version).
January 14, 201411 yr 'Cosmic Journey' (song) is gorgeous! You should definitely give that one a listen. I liked her debut album, but wasn't obsessed with it. 'Sandcastle Disco' and 'Cosmic Journey' are the easy highlights for me. Not sure on her other stuff (bar 'True' which you've heard!)
February 7, 201411 yr Author ^ still not got round to it :drama: she's on my list - along with Brandy if anyone has any recommendations of which albums to start with for her? I adore some of her singles just need to explore further like Solange.
March 5, 201411 yr Author Just came across this nice, fun & vintage R&B number from Mila J (Jhené Aiko's older sister):
