I cannot believe The Good Wife is so low considering it has a lot of fans in here. Then again I only started watching it recently and thus did not vote for it when the voting took place 27 years ago.

40th - The Voice UK - 211pts (more votes) ( 86)

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/01/11/article-2537750-1A93757A00000578-901_634x368.jpg

I'm really surprised to see this so high (it got a score of -1 last year !!!!!). I don't mind it (especially now Kylie is on it ) but it just seems to revert to a more boring version of the X Factor (still to come) when it gets past the blind auditions. Hopefully the current series will prove me wrong.

39th - Sherlock - 216pts (fewer votes) ( 62)

Words cannot describe the brilliance of this show. For a show to retain such a high standard throughout all its episodes is a remarkable achievement. This thoroughly deserves its place here and is definitely one of the best shows on TV.

38th - Waterloo Road - 216pts (more votes) ( 8)

From one of the best programmes to one of the very worst. Why people like this show is beyond me, but it seems lots of you do and you're not alone - as a 10th (!!!) series has been commisioned by the BBC.

37th - Misfits - 218pts ( 13)

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/About/General/2013/12/9/1386592615624/Misfits---will-we-ever-se-008.jpg

I don't know much about this one but the premise (people on commuity service getting "super powers") is pretty exiciting. And for a programme on E4 it achieved massive viewing figures - as much as 1.5 million for some episodes. Something I'll try to get round to in the future.

36th - Shameless - 219pts ( 36)

The less I say about this one the better. A lot of you seem to like it but I do not find myself in that category. Maybe it's something that grows on you - but I have far better things to be watching.

Sherlock. Eww.

Shameless and Waterloo Road  Two of the best things to grace British television since EVER.

'Lost' will always be a favourite of mine. My obsession for it throughout its run will probably never be rivalled by any show now.

Shocked, but happy at 'Shameless' getting this high :o Has it's ups and downs but when it's good it's brilliant.

35th - Pointless - 223pts ( 48)

http://static.whatsontv.co.uk/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/Media%20Gallery/208797.jpg

The BBC1 (formerly 2) quiz show where an answer has to be obscure for you to win the prize money. Surprisingly awesome.

34th - Celebrity Juice - 225pts ( 6)

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/06/618x392/celebrity_juice_generics_01.jpg

Is this a guilty pleasure of mine? Quite possibly - but it's not something you can watch everyday.

33rd - I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! - 230pts ( 41)

http://www.daily-diversion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Im-a-celeb-logo.jpg

If you get a decent selection of celebrities then this show can be really good. However the past couple of series have been a little disappointing for me (we need more Kim Woodburn).

32nd - 30 Rock - 239pts ( 6)

http://www.mhsmirador.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/30-rock-promo-pic.jpg

One of the most critically-successful American comedies appears here - recieving 112 Emmy nominations across its 7 series. I watched a few clips on YouTube but didn't find it in the same league as Veep - it was more 'amusing' than 'hilarious' for me.

31st - Alan Carr: Chatty Man - 243pts ( 13)

Not my favourite comedian in the world but lots of you seem to like him. I do sometimes watch for the musical perfomances though.

30th - The Walking Dead - 247pts ( 4)

http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/31100000/The-Walking-Dead-jessicamc26-31150017-500-313.jpg

Despite pacing issues from series 2 onwards this still a very good show. For every unlikeable character (*cough* Rick *cough*) there is a load of awesome ones (Michonne / Daryl etc.) and I do really want the group to suceed.

29th - EastEnders - 257pts ( 25)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ac/EastEnders_Title.png

The ever popular soap is next to drop out. As someone who doesn't watch any soaps I don't understand the appeal of any of them - but people do seem to like this one in particular. But it's not the highest British soap on this countdown - that honour goes to Hollyoaks which shall itself be making an appearance here in a short while.

28th - Skins - 266pts ( 3)

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Media/Pix/gallery/2010/12/16/1292511810394/The-Skins-5-cast-001.jpg

This show was unusual in that its cast was changed every two series, so that all in all there were three "generations" of Skins. The series came to a conclusion last year with three special episodes: Skins Fire, Skins Pure and Skins Rise.

27th - Absolutely Fabulous - 270pts ( 28)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/01/Absolutely_Fabulous_Cast.jpg

Well the title says it all really. I love this, Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders are just hilarious and the whole thing works brilliantly.

26th - Arrested Development - 289pts ( 5)

http://www.tubefilter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/arrested-development-600x369.jpg

Despite being cancelled by FOX after just 3 series in 2006, this show was in 2013 for a forth series, exclusive to Netflix. Apparently this is actually good - being regularly named amongst the top comedies of all time by critics but from the clips I've seen it doesn't look like anything special.

25th - Hollyoaks - 294pts ( 3)

http://www.limepictures.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/hollyoaks-cast-2013.jpg

As I mentioned this is the highest British soap on this list. Quite a few of my classmates are rather obsessed with this - but I don't quite understand why.

24th - Will & Grace - 302pts ( 23)

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XtadCNpC8OA/Rpz5ZyRh4wI/AAAAAAAAABU/7YKgxbhATT4/s320/Will%20and%20Grace.jpg

This is the first show to get over 300 points. I've heard conflicting opinions on this one - but as I've not seen it I can't judge.

23rd - The Vicar of Dibley - 307pts ( 2)

http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/files/2013/03/vicarofdibley.jpg

My best memory of this is my RE teacher playing it is class because it was apparently relevant to our course. It is great fun though - and something I want to watch more of.

22nd - Ugly Betty - 309pts ( 7)

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QzsvDJcI9Ko/UDU75_kFK4I/AAAAAAAAAI4/l5SSB2GQOAM/s1600/uglyBetty.jpg

There's just something about this that doesn't work for me. Anyway, it is a very popular show and I suppose it does deserve a place on this countdown - just maybe a little lower.

21st - Outnumbered - 310pts ( 2)

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/01/29/article-0-09A7A91E000005DC-624_634x425.jpg

Well I tried my best not to watch this one and I managed to resist successfully for four whole series. However I recently gave in and watch the first episode of series 5 and was hooked. I don't know whether it's always been this good - but I sure hope so.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XtadCNpC8OA/Rpz5ZyRh4wI/AAAAAAAAABU/7YKgxbhATT4/s320/Will%20and%20Grace.jpg

This is the first show to get over 300 points. I've heard conflicting opinions on this one - but as I've not seen it I can't judge.

This show is amazing and should've been top 3 at least. Any conflicting opinions are simply WRONG  .

Hollyoaks is also good and I watch it more than EE, but as long as EE is ahead of Corrie, all's good.

Actually quite a good top 20, though with some random shows thrown in. Am surprised!

The original commentary for Will & Grace:

How is this not higher??? Shame on you Buzzjack! SHAME ON YOU.

Will & Grace

September 21st 1998-May 18th 2006

The classic NBC sitcom Will and Grace is up next! The highest rated sitcom from 2001 to 2005 (yes, that means it was better rated than Friends) and the greatest sitcom of all time scored 16 Emmy wins from an incredible 83 nominations. With 10 of those in it's final season including a second win for Megan Mullally for her part as a TV Legend and Life Idol, Karen Walker. The show's 7th season was nominated for 15 Emmy's tying it for second with Desperate Housewives on the list of most Emmy nominations received in a single season. The show is one of three sitcoms (Along with All In The Family and Golden Girls) that has seen all of it's lead actors win Emmy's for their part in the show.

Running for 8 seasons and 194 episodes this cult classic introduced Prime-Time America to it's first openly gay characters setting the scene and breaking the glass ceiling for countless shows that came after it. A show that changed the cultural landscape of American TV forever, this truly is one of the greatest TV shows of all time. Not just for it's cultural impact...

Staring Sean Hayes as Jack McFarland, Eric McCormack as Will Truman, Debra Messing as Grace Adler and Megan Mullally as the legendary Karen Walker. Karen was the true star of the show providing not only comedic value but invaluable life lessons. Wealthy, self-involved, a drug addict and permanently in a state of alcohol induced intoxication should be a recipe for disaster but instead is one that has provided us with some of the best TV

Just skip the last two episodes as they genuinely ruin the end of this outstanding show. If you haven't watched this yet, get out from under the rock you've been living under and get downloading. No amount of hyperbole could do this show justice, never mind Karen Walker.
