September 22, 201311 yr You can't really say that about pixie lott cause you're expecting it to do as well as her first album. In the end it did go gold, which is still really good and successful. Considering people like Duffy and Christina Aguilera, whose other albums may not have been as successful as their huge one but still outsold Pixie's sophomore effort, have been banded around this thread, Pixie Lott is actually fair game. And did it really sell 100k? I thought that was just Lee's embarrassing attempt at optimism.
September 22, 201311 yr The difference is that Alanis and Cyndi still sell at least some records and tour at theatres and arenas. Where does Darius tour? Cyndi is also an icon of some kind and Alanis started even a movement which helped other artists such as Natalie Imbruglia and Meredith Brooks imo. Cyndi Lauper kept having Top 40 singles until as recently as 1997 (I know that's not very recent to most Buzzjackers, but it's quite a while after her first hit). But none of these arguments have anything to do with NOT being a "one album wonder". Cyndi is an icon exactly because of that one big album!
September 22, 201311 yr You can't say her other albums flopped though (especially because her GH Twelve Deadly Cyns sold amazingly well in 1994)
September 22, 201311 yr EDUCATION TIME. Chasing Lights- 300k Wordshaker- 60k Headlines!- 200k On Your Radar 60k -_- I would agree with this - The Saturday's have been consistent in their underperformance and I suspect their media profile. singles sales and breakthrough potential kept their deal by the skin of their teeth.
September 23, 201311 yr This thread indicates Buzzjack's version of Godwin's law - a thread is not complete until there is at least two Saturdays references (one positive and one negative).
September 23, 201311 yr The Saturdays. 4 albums all rubbish think they will end if this new album dosent get top 10

But Pixie has only had 2 albums. If a third one fails then yeah she is a one album wonder
September 25, 201311 yr EDUCATION TIME. Chasing Lights- 300k Wordshaker- 60k Headlines!- 200k On Your Radar 60k -_- CORRECTION. Chasing Lights - 380K Wordshaker - 88K Headlines! - 210K On Your Radar - 60K Although that technically doesn't help their case.
September 25, 201311 yr Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie sold twice than that yet it is widely regarded as a flop because it faded into oblivion very quickly. Cyndi had two major hits after She's So Unusual ("True Colors" & "I Drove All Night") but none of her albums got any attention and I believe her debut sold 6 million in the US alone so True Colors selling 3 million WW still makes her eligible to this list in my opinion. An album selling 3 million copies is not a flop for crying out loud!!

September 25, 201311 yr Could we say it about Our Vanessa Carlton, even though her third album was one of the best of all time? :(
