Holed up in a friendd house near airport until tomorrow
Holed up in a friendd house near airport until tomorrow

Is there much damage Tess? About three o'clock here the sky went a really weird yellow/grey colour and then it got really dark. It was so strange. That's the storm sucking up the sand from the Sahara apparently. I've never seen anything like it before. It was like twilight

Glad you're safe Tess.

Why do you think BBC reporters feel the need to stand on the edge of the sea wall in the howling wind and rain to deliver a piece to camera on the storm? I always feel sorry for them. They must have drawn the short straw today.

Glad you're safe Tess.

The weather prognosticators here are always doing the same thing during hurricanes, standing out in the middle of a street to give a first-hand account on what the hurricane is doing....

This was one of ours in DEC 2015

I fell over a trolley, nothing to do with the storm or drink <_< , my legs are black & blue, I would post a pic but my legs needs a shave
My colleague at work sent an email to out Corporate office yesterday telling them that sending of files could be delayed due to hurricane in the region , somebody replied back & said Yeah ; sure , not a good enough excuse , of course not believing what they were told until a link was sent back to them with the proof . Nobody over there could quite believe what they were seeing although I do not think it was as bad as Storm Darwin in 2014 when thousands of trees were felled which was really sad & we had terrible structural damage . Ophelia looked impressive on the weather charts but Darwin was far worse

Ouch :arrr:

Or when they wait for the end of a Politicians speech, everyone starts clapping and THEN they start their report by shouting over the sound of the clapping. <_<

Everyone I just decided to post this here, please consider joining Buzzjack song contest for its 100th contest!

To enter, just pick a song that wasn't a top 20 hit and make up a country name and enter the competition, then vote for the other countries entries when the semi finals are announced.

Why do I get the feeling that Brexit is going to cost the UK taxpayer a fortune

The whole Brexit thing just makes me so angry.

A referendum that should never have been held, a completely catastrophic decision that we'll be paying for in the decades to come

and the group of "experts" currently negotiating a deal on our behalf are so inept and unqualified for the job are making that decision, ten times worse.

In my opinion of course.

They will agree eventually Laura but it will take a lot longer than they thought & cost everyone a huge amount of money. The Nr Ireland border issue wil be an interesting one, there will be no HARD border & that is a fact :)

I do wonder how they are going to sort out the border. What do you think they'll do Tess?

All I know Laura is that there will not be a HARD border as that would be going backwards , it works as it is & it's not just about a physical border when is comes to Nr I , it took a long time to achieve peace that was so badly needed so I think that they will work something out all that suits all communities both sides of the border , for me it is the most worrying part of Brexit so I hope they get it right & do not do anything to jeopardise the great work that was done to get us to where we are today
