Granny came to visit one weekend

There once was a dottering Granny,

She had a very big fanny,

She said on a whim,

When asked who's him,

"He's my gardener Manny' "

It was a fab weekend, the sun shine, the crowds came, traffic was not allowed into the the city for the three days , everyone followed Granny & her entourage around the city, the kids loved it , some really lovely memories :wub:

 

The guys that operated the mechanisim that made her move were extremely fit , it was all pullies & ropes, really fantastic to see it working & the best of all was that Granny had a personality , she made everyone smile :P

& the funny thing about that photo Laura is that looking at it you would think that those stores were on a sweeping bend of the road but in fact they are part of the main street that runs up the centre of the city , it was the angle of the camera that gave it the curved look. I see what you mean about the posters, it was great fun as people got dressed up as Grannies for the weekend, it was hllarious , best thing that ever came to this city

Here's me on 'saving the planet ' mode

 

Nationwide in one of our Irish supermarket stores they have a bin in the store where you can remove the plastic from your v/fruit etc & drop it in the bin , it was so successful today that it is now going to be a permanent feature in the stores...what a great idea, there is far too much plastic everywhere that is doing huge damage to our environment. I would love to see other stores follow suit
