Administrative staff are doing home office in the Netherlands to a huge extend. If you see the comparison to other epidemic deseases Corona does not even seems so scary. What is scary is the fast way in a short time it spread.

Many people in the small country here are using public transport, where the likelihood to be infected is huge.

I am wondering where this will head..

All the experts say 'wash your hands many times a day ' ....

I agree about the ban on flights, we cancelled the Italy/Ireland game last weekend & they still allowed the flights to come in from Italy where many of the fans came from the worst affected areas. At the end of the day we all have a personal responsibility when it comes to something like this , I do not think some folk realise how serious it can get or is getting

They say that these current weeks are the danger time where they expect to see spikes in numbers ..

There was a debate on the main Coronavirus thread in The Lounge over whether the government should have banned flights to Italy much sooner, I think they should have but some others disagreed.

I think the Govt aren't being strict enough although I realise advice can change on a daily basis.

The experts say that 60% of the healthy population need to actually get the virus in a controlled manner so that they will build immunity to it naturally as they feel that this virus will come back year after year , unfortunately there will casualties along the way so folks that are vulnerable need to stay home & hope a vaccine comes along in the next few months

I went to the Tesco last & one whole shelving unit was completely empty

schools are closed here , we may yet be working from home, will know more next week

I do think they need to check the folks coming back from Cheltenham although the amount of booze they will have taken might help -_-

I just need life to get back to normal :(

I loved the Cobra meeting that met to decide to have another meeting in two days' time... :heehee:

They need to take action & stop just talking ...

Advised at work today that we have to work from home next week , how long this will go on I do not know ...

Yes - I think that could be a lot of us.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones who can do that. My friend I sit next to has three young children. She said to me today she will have to log on at eight o'clock at night to get any of her work done. -_-

It's scary isn't it. :(

I went to an ELO tribute tonight. They were brilliant.

During one of the songs they showed film from the 2012 London Olympics. Everyone looked so happy. It seemed really poignant after what is happening at the moment.

It's a tiny theatre so wouldn't hold more than a couple of hundred people I think.

I noticed the staff did have gloves on and we took our hand sanitiser. ^_^

I've just read they're planning on isolating the over 70s for four months.

I just can't see that working in this country.

The numbers have stopped increasing in China - I wonder how they managed that considering how many people live there? Are there lessons to be learnt from there? I guess they did shut down whole regions although I heard on the radio today an opinion that it could all come back once people started mingling again.

I reckon they told people if you come outside you will suffer the consequences

We are on shutdown in a lot of areas over here, there is talk of closing the pubs as some people are ignoring the heath warnings .you know the way some people think it will never happen to them  , it seems to be a very dangerous virus & spreads easily, if folk do as they are asked now we might get back to normal sooner rather than later.

all schools closed in Germany, in the Netherlands the first next week, huge companies do home office. the peak in Europe is not reached yet they say
They've closed schools till the end of the month here in most of the US, along with the theme parks all across the US....many companies are telling people to work from home, an option I don't have. Many universities are telling students to do any course work online, with other universities closing till the end of the month...
All pubs, clubs etc closed from midnight tonight until March 29th & maybe even further out ...
If the "peak" isn't until June/July - will everything be closed until then I wonder?

Beautiful song.

I used to love Clifford T Laura, I remember that song well ...
