You don't have to have a country thread though to enter.

:D

I might remix one of those Phil Collins or Pink Floyd tracks you posted (I do remixes of songs btw)

That would be interesting TWS, would love to see what you come up with :o

Were you :drink: ?

Why is it that drinking wine at home, it never tastes as nice as if you buy it in a pub/restaurant? Even if it's the same wine?

I never enjoy it as much.

I enjoy everything more at home in the way of alcohol, since I don't have to worry aboot getting home, as I'm already at home.....

Amazing what a DUI in one's past will do to one's public consumption of alcohol.....

By the way this was my Buzzjack Song Contest entry...I was going to post it here before when we were talking about the BJSC but I forgot.

Almost qualified for the final, missed out by a few points.

I dont' do home drinking unless I have visitors . We ended up going to a hotel bar after we had a meal & those places never close so it was a wee bit late when we left -_-

It's from 2014 but was a completed version of an old disco track from 1979 that wasn't released.

Yes - I can understand that :)

I like dance music with disco influence, there were quite a few popular ones in the charts in the 00s like Salsoul Nugget, Lola's Theme and Thunder In My Heart Again, fewer now sadly.

I remember 1979 the first time round. :)

More for Gary Numan and Tubeway Army but also for Squeeze, Police etc.

Good times B-)

Never heard of Tubeway Army but definitely heard of the other ones, Gary Numan influenced dance music a lot! Cars is brilliant. Cool For Cats is the only Squeeze song I know and is very catchy. I like quite a few Police songs too, like the clarinet instrumentation in Englishman In New York. Message In A Bottle and Walking On The Moon are great tunes too.

What is your favourite decade for music btw? And your favourite year?

By the way, for me my favourite is the 00s as that was when I was in school and growing up and I think there was more vatiety of music in the charts than now. My favourite year is probably 2005 or 2006 for all the lively disco influenced dance songs around in those years. The early 00s were great for pop music and rock too, as well as dance (although I only appreciate the trance and hard dance music that was around then now). I like the 2007 for the rock hits from The Fray, OneRepublic and the Klaxons.

I am a big fan of the 80s though even though I wasn't born until 1992, love the dance tunes such as Yazoo's Don't Go and The Communards' Dont Leave Me This Way. The synthpop was great too. Talk Talk's It's My Life is one of my favourites and for rock, Genesis' Land Of Confusion is so catchy :music:

TWS, may I suggest Tempted by Squeeze, as well....one of their more moderately successful hits from the early/mid 80's here in the US...

Blondie ( Heart if Glass ) , Fleetwood Mac ( Go Your Own Way ) , Pink Floyd ( Dark Side of The Moon ) all brilliant

There was also Pop Muzik by M, One Night In Bangkok by Murray Head....my most favorite songs from the 80's by The Fixx are Stand Or Fall and Secret Separation....by A Flock Of Seagulls, Space Age Love Song, Wishing (If I had a Photograph), The More You Live The More You Love, Telecommunication...Whisper to a Scream by Icicle Works, Electric Blue by Icehouse....I could go on all night.....

Favourite decade = 1970s B-)

Favourite year = 1976

I loved all the 70s soul music - Isley Brothers/OJays/Delfonics/Chilites etc etc :)

Gary Numan was in Tubeway Army before he went solo.

Their most famous hit was Are Friends Electric?.

Isley Brothers from 1976 - Harvest for the World.

IMO one of the most beautiful songs ever written and still so relevant for today's world.

Beautiful hot summer in 1976 and just hearing this song reminds me of hanging out at school in the sunshine.
