There's a Take That forum Mullo but ugh at this news :(

OK, but the news is about Gary, not Take That

it's offish, the world is ending :(

It's official, people are responding to this news with GIFs of some so called 'camp icon'!

There is actually already a topic about this on the Take That forum so perhaps if these could be merged? (I can't wait BTW. Gotta love the Captain!)

Fantastic news! Can't wait to hear the single!
It's Let Me Go isn't it??
Yes you're right, he's not singing a Will Young cover haha
He'll probably get a #1 with an X-Factor perf and inevitable Heart rape :( GOD HELP US.

Yep, I'll move this to the Take That forum and the moderators there will hopefully merge the two topics.

So much hate! He's responsible for at least 10 of the greatest pop songs of the past 20 years! I'm looking forward to the album!

Eh, that's completey subjective. He is no where to be seen on my list. :kink:

Will be interesting to see him perform on X-factor though. It'll be the first time since becoming a judge I think? (Solo I mean, not including his duet).

OH DEAR GOD NO. I'm not a fan of Take That, and I'm even less of a fan of Gary Borelow.

People only seem to 'hate' him, as I see it, based on him as a judge on X Factor. Unable to take a joke (Rylan, off the top of my head) and all that kind of carry on seems to be the common argument. But he even admitted himself a lot of why he was grumpy on last year's show was because of some of the difficulties he faced in his personal life towards the end of last year (him and his wife losing their little girl before she was born) which when you put that into context yes, you can understand why he wasn't himself. What normal person would be themselves?

The X Factor can be a very hypey, bitchy environment at it's peak and if you even look at say Cheryl's last year on the show in 2010 she wasn't in a good place herself with her divorce and malaria going on in her personal life. In thay respect you have to cut Gary some slack at least.

Anyway, back on topic. It looks as if Ben Winston ('On Her Majesty's Service') has directed the first video for 'Let Me Go'. He did the JLS 3D movie as well so this should be good :)

True Richie - but those 10 songs were all Take That. I think even you can discount most stuff he's written for others (if they can be remembered even). And his solo stuff - there's only 'Lie To Me' from his second album that was truly wonderful.

I am actually curious to hear his new stuff - not enough to buy - but I will give it a listen. I have the feeling he'll probably have one great song and 9 boring ones.

I agree it was hard for him last year on the X Factor, but to me he was obnoxious the year before. Regardless of the issues, he was a hypocrite for slagging of Rylan when he was the one that put through disastrous Frankie Cocoza who couldn't sing and was later banned from the show for bad behavior.

Also, all Take That/Gary fans can say all they want it was all a joke regarding Rylan - ok, but was completely uncalled of him to insult him during his solo tour. Why drag him outside the show? That is why I think it wasn't all a joke.

Regarding his music, I find him way overrated, the UK acts like he is the best thing since bread. Yes, he may have had great songs with Take That which i respect, but all the songs he wrote for others weren't major hits.
