Love this Bré, you always go that one step further than you need to and that's always rather special.

As for my entries, they're not at all in the order I would've expected from you so that in itself is interesting to see... very pleased for 3 to have made it and that they all kinda represent different styles. ^_^

Poor Tartford managed to land 3 songs in our worst of the year countdown, but all three of them are gone before we reach the top 20 - the same can't be said for Mulgracia who still have 3 entries to come. Oops. Both countries also have appearances on the good list though so it's not all bad. Petite Meller's 'Baby Love' will probably be a contender to win the Rejects this year, but I remain steadfast in being the only person on the forum to think it was RIGHT to be rejected. It's just really annoying ok. It's only their third worst entry of 2015 though (landing 27th overall), beaten by Dusty O, Tasty Tim and T-Total's 'Where Is My Man?' which is just... not my thing at all let's say, at #23, and another irritant in 'I Got You' by Ola Salo and Kleerup which lands in 21st.

Greenfroze open up the top 30 with Paul Rey's 'Good As Hell'. The title pretty much speaks for itself there. All in all it could be worse... but not by much. Ramrynia mostly had a pretty decent year but had one moment of retro Ramrynia annoying pop in BJSC 73 with Erika Selin's 'Break Me Up' which comes in 29th. Similarly N-Lazone were pretty inoffensive all year but unfortunately their most recent entry 'All Hours' by Julie Bergan was just pure trash and comes in at #28. In 26th we have FSR Rontvia who delivered what no one ever asked for - a Sam Smith clone - with Wrabel's 'I Want You'. I'm not sure if I really HATE it that much or just heavily resent it for getting into the BJSC 77 final over 'Enssa El Aatab' due to Pavel's laziness, but it's here nonetheless. Aprogonia took an unexpected and unwanted turn to insomnia cure status with Ruth B's 'Lost Boy' in BJSC 78, earning them the title of 25th worst song of the year. Hendinia's drag queen outing (no pun intended) 'This Is My Hair' by Alaska Thunderfuck is again not really my thing at all (I mean 'Sissy That Walk' kind of pulled it off somehow but this not so much). And her accent is weird. That puts her at #24.

Finally in 22nd we have N DNTN, but don't let that fool you into thinking we're hating on the vowelless country. We understand the struggle they were in in BJSC 74, having failed to make the final 3 times in a row including twice in a row with literal 11/10 anthems, and we don't blame them for selling their soul to the devil that is brain-meltingly bad K-Pop. Ok we do a bit. But it did the job for them to some degree by returning them to a final and their other entries this year more than make up for it, with 8 of the other 9 making it to our good list. 4Minute's 'Crazy' though... BE GONE.

Poor Crazy and All Hours. Weird how there are times when we totally mismatch when normally we don't. I HOPE there are no more I'd disagree with in the bottom 20 (there probably won't be, that seems to be reserved for the worst of the trashy pop)

Out of that lot I quite like 'Crazy', 'Baby Love' is okay and 'Where Is My Man?' is a bit of a guilty pleasure lmao. I get why it's not ur thing tho x

Some v deserved mentions here though like Ruth B / Paul Rey / Julie Bergan.

13 Sandénia 71 // Masketta Fall - Summertime Girls

12 Dobago 80 // ItaloBrothers - Sleep When We're Dead

11 Triangledonia 77 // Every Last Chance - Spotlight (feat. Marissa Dattoli)

Sandénia have also landed multiple songs down here and both of them are found in this section. Mako and Madison Beer's 'I Won't Let You Walk Away' comes in at #20, thanks to committing 3 cardinal sins: 1) being terrible basic dance, 2) having a grammatical error in the chorus (it's down here for THAT ALONE!), and 3) continuing the existence of Madison Beer (it's also down here for THAT ALONE!) It's not quite as offensive as 'Melodies', but what is? Sandénia did top it in the dreadful stakes two contests earlier though with Masketta Fall's 'Summertime Girls' which managed to sound like an even worse version of one of the more dreadful songs by one of the boybands recently. I can't remember exactly which one, they all kind of blur into one, but it's all unpleasant. Masketta Fall take lucky #13.

And here we have the first 2 appearances from Mulgracia (well, one was Jamvale but I've updated it accordingly ~). Mulgracia do basic dance in a way most other countries can't match - which is a good thing - and there are 2 examples here. Shaan and Lauren Evans' 'Light Up The World' is at 15th (it's literally called 'Light Up The World', how much more basic can you get) and sadly the change in their country name hasn't been met with a permanent change in musical quality as their most recent entry, Rosette's 'Sweetest Mistake', is also here at #17. There's a few more basic dance songs here, including shit ripoffs of Swedish House Mafia (Triangledonia's 'Spotlight' by Every Last Chance feat. Marissa Dattoli, #11) and Basshunter (Dobago's most recent entry 'Sleep When We're Dead' by ItaloBrothers, #12), as well as the faux sass and eye-rolling lyrical clichés of 'Boss' by HELENA and Vassy at #14 for Danaelanda (who otherwise had a good year!!) and one of the Altyr Muunilinst ones, 'Hands' by Gareth Emery and Alastor feat. London Thor at #16. Their other entry to come (they've achieved top 10!) is a horror of far more extreme proportions but will it top the official list of worst songs?

Completing this sorry lot is Taahino's worst entry by far, We The Kings' 'I Like It' which sounds like something The Vamps rejected at #19, and inexplicable semi-final winner to final 16th place 'Overload' by Life Of Dillon for Ojnoj at #18, combining the folky dance sound that I resent Avicii for popularising and some awful vocals that reminded me of someone I now can't remember. Was it Sam Smith again?

(I'm having a bit too much fun with this)

Oh right, I forgot about my favourite kind of dance (not the Mulgracia basics, the Avicii/SHM/Basshunter stuff) :D (and Fall Out Boy ripoffs)

Mulgracia score again just inside the top 10 with the worst example of Mulgracian dance this year, Dash Berlin and John Dahlbäck's 'Never Let You Go' featuring the oddly named BullySongs. This song certainly bullied my ears. There was a brief moment when I was hosting BJSC 75 and adding up the votes that it was looking scarily possible this could have done nearly as well as the infamously shite 'In Your Arms' but thankfully that was just a phase and this one ended up outside the top 30. Enough of basic dance, let's go to some more interesting shit. Like basic pop. Hi Ashley Allen. Hushkanukia land in 7th place with 'Touch Me (Take Me Tonight)'. I have little to say about this.

PRoJ are usually pretty reliable for good entries but they majorly dropped the ball with the ill-informed decision to send a James Arthur clone - as if a Sam Smith clone wasn't bad enough! - in the form of Walking On Cars' 'Always Be With You'. This apparently grew on me during the contest and ended up midtable in our rankings, but I've lost all memory of that growing process, I even tried to listen to it again to see if it was still magically listenable. It wasn't. Two songs that were never going to be magically listenable by virtue of their genres alone are found at #8 and #6 - oh BJSC 76, the time we had 2 country songs in the final for some reason. The Shires' 'Friday Night' is the SLIGHTLY PREFERABLE one because, idk, they're British which is somewhat interesting, or it has male vocals and I'm sexist, or something. That's #8 for Bignia-Zaragovina while its American solo female counterpart 'Love Me Like You Mean It' by Kelsea Ballerini is two places higher for Ultraviolenceland.

I'll dial back the hyperbolic shit-slinging a bit when dealing with the song at #5 because I value Persephonia's lack of nuclear attacks in its history. *ahem* Federal Republic of Ashton sent Midnight Red's 'Hell Yeah' to BJSC 74 and Persephonian voters found it to be of questionable quality. It places 5th. Just ahead of it is 'Pinne For Landet' by Freddy Kalas which represented Tinnmark in BJSC 72. Following the horror Singerpurear unleashed the month before this one, I was fearing there'd be a token truly horrendous eurodance song every month from then on. Thankfully I was wrong and Tinnmark went on to send some much better songs later in the year (as did Singerpurear of course, but we'll get to their BJSC 71 crime in the next and final post of this countdown...)

ALTYR MUUNILINST vs. OSLOL vs. SINGERPUREAR

SAM FELDT & KIMBERLY ANNE vs. ELLE KING vs. FLY PROJECT

'SHOW ME LOVE' vs. 'AMERICA'S SWEETHEART' vs. 'TOCA-TOCA'

All are quite frankly monstrous, but which takes the cake for the worst entry of 2015?

10 Mulgracia 75 // Dash Berlin and John Dahlbäck - Never Let You Go (feat. BullySongs)

07 Hushkanukia 74 // Ashley Allen - Touch Me (Take Me Tonight)

06 Ultraviolenceland 76 // Kelsea Ballerini - Love Me Like You Mean It

05 (Federal Republic of) Ashton 74 // Midnight Red - Hell Yeah

WORST songs of the year - the top (well, bottom) 3

03 Oslol 75 // Elle King - America's Sweetheart

http://i.imgur.com/cztzO1H.png

Never did I imagine one poster would go to such effort to get such a bad song into the spotlight. At the time I was hosting BJSC 75, this song was not available on YouTube in the UK, and copyright hounds kept taking down any link poor imaduck tried to provide himself. Unfortunately one of the links eventually stuck so I wasn't able to veto this song's existence. To be fair to her, the song itself is not THAT bad. She just cannot remotely sing it. It's like Jessie J's 'Who You Are' levels of ear-piercing screech. I really, really struggle to understand how humans can physically enjoy songs that sound like this. It did fairly well though so clearly I'm missing something here. Thankfully Elle has toned it down a bit with the voice thing and her other song 'Ex's & Oh's' is much more listenable and - dare I say it - even decent, so I can't hate her entirely. Although actually, yes I can, because seriously, 'Ex's'? 'Oh's'? Someone please euthanise this woman. Oslol have been much better in recent months, not that that's difficult.

02 Altyr Muunilinst 72 // Sam Feldt - Show Me Love (feat. Kimberly Anne)

http://i.imgur.com/H99RW4e.png

01 Singerpurear 71 // Fly Project - Toca-Toca

http://i.imgur.com/uZnkUnH.png

Just like in the year-to-date, it's close but no cigar for Altyr Muunilinst who unfortunately have to settle for just the second worst BJSC entry of the year, the utterly lifeless and bordering on offensive version of the classic 'Show Me Love' that Sam Feldt and Kimberly Anne felt the need to inflict on the world. It is truly a shame that the BJSC mods didn't start coming down hard on big samples a few months earlier, as it may have saved us from the injustice of this being allowed to exist. Unfortunately I'd still have heard it at some point regardless because the UK public made it a top 5 hit. God help us all. A low point in musical history, not just BJSC history.

But it's not #1 here because it never quite made my skin crawl as much as Singerpurear's first offering of the year, Fly Project's 'Toca-Toca'. Warning: if you haven't heard this song, stay at least 10 miles away from it at all times, because it carries the unfortunate quality of being one of the more catchy entries this year, infecting your brainwaves with its obnoxiousness for hours on end. It's come back to me just typing this paragraph. This was a bad idea. ABORT. (Sorry John, you know we're big believers in Singerpurear but this one is just beyond defense :puke:)

Hope I didn't offend anyone too much and I'll see you in this thread again soon for some more positivity as we begin Persephonia's top 150 entries of 2015 :D

Very understandable top 3. I heard 'Toca Toca' only for the first time through 'Rejects' and it wasn't really my cup of tea, those VOX on 'America's Sweetheart' were extremely unpleasant and I've always shared the same view regarding 'Show Me Love'. Utterly pointless version that sucks out everything that was good about the original :( Usually a huge Singerpurear / Oslol / Altyr fan so I guess I'll let them slide though.

(The Shires / Every Last Chance / Midnight Red are other honourable awful mentions x)

Living for your commentary lmao, a very enjoyable read this has been so far. Hypeee for your faves now!

Sam Feldt's version of Show My Love is great :( (albeit one I don't really associate with BJSC anymore) it appears Idina isn't your only taste deficiency :kink: Otherwise, if I were doing a worst songs list, it would likely be the same. Good shouts for Lost Boys, Never Let You Go, Touch Me, Hell Yeah and Friday Night, all atrocious.

+ I suspected it, but slayyyyy @ 8/10 in your best of *.* I'll be looking out for this one, don't let me down.

Ok Spotlight admittedly isn't my best entry put amongst my others but seriously some other great dance tunes of the year in your top 20 worst?
I guess you won't be calling Ashley Allen at 3am, drunk at a payphone with the smell of whisky on your breath! :(
I am shocked no Sandebörg entries have made the Persephonia hate chart :o
