That is a really good showing for D'yermak'er! For all the shade I throw at our apparent one-sided loving, you actually are good supporters of us (when it doesn't matter admittedly, but good supporters nonetheless ;o) xx

Me supporting you a lot, but only when you flop, is as true as ever. 3 of your 5 in this top 150 were your 3 DNQs and one of the others is a song I gave to you (which also didn't do that well). Oop.

'Look / Lak' though :(

That's pretty amazing that five of our entries are featuring in your top 100! Jadaphonia going strong. Terra Avium slaying as well in a huge way *.*

Some great picks so far, particularly: 'Shade Of You', 'Wolf', 'Calm Down', 'Can't Have', 'Farewell G41', 'Hurt Me', 'When I Found You', 'I'll Wait For You', '1/M/T', and 'Paradigm'.

V strong start, woop woop x

Kicking off the top 100 ~

Best songs of the year - 100-91

100 Land of DW 79 // Polar Dear - Even If I'm Late

099 Desbuanda 72 // Eves The Behavior - TV

098 Séyetana 76 // Chisu - Sabotage

097 (The Actual Republic of) Bellamia 80 // Eaves - Alone In My Mind

096 D'yermak'er 79 // Rajveer and Dr Zeus - Pakka Sharabi (feat. Shortie and Fateh)

Just pipping Land of DW to the top 100 is... Land of DW, with Polar Dear's 'Even If I'm Late', starting us off with one hell of an addictive keyboard riff, and the first of many very disappointing DNQs in this top 100 (there are a handful of them as high as the top 10). One more song still to come from this land. Feels a bit wrong for Desbuanda to be all out already as they had another consistently strong year - let's ignore Cloves - but alas #99 is the highest they manage with Eves The Behavior's Lorde-esque 'TV' which also gave them their biggest hit in the contest to date. Only right for them to scrape in as they usually do on my votes eh? The first of Séyetana's very varied bunch of top 100 appearances is at #98 for Chisu's 'Sabotage', a bit of ultra-classy Finnish language pop. Séyetana do Finland best, take notes... the few other people who've sent Finnish tracks. The Actual Republic of Bellamia actually had a really good year in retrospect, and though I'm still not convinced they sent it for reasons anything to do with the music, given its similarity to Ben Howard who Joseph is hardly a big fan of, Eaves' 'Alone In My Mind' was our highlight of their 2015 and comes in 97th here. Then in 96th we have D'yermak'er (they've done well on this EOY :)) with their second of two Punjabi offerings this year, Rajveer and Dr Zeus' 'Pakka Sharabi' (feat. Shortie and Fateh). There's just something I really love about the Punjabi / bhangra vocal style. This one was a touch more generic than 'Look / Lak' which we won't be seeing for a while yet, even roping in a couple of slightly questionable English rap verses, but it's all part of the fun ~

095 Ajanaeda 71 // The Writers Block - Don't Look Any Further

094 Vülkyria 78 // Grandtheft and Sleepy Tom - Hold On

093 N DNTN 75 // Merely - Scandinavia

092 Terra Avium 71 // OOFJ - You're Always Good

091 Tartford 79 // Son Lux - You Don't Know Me

Another DNQ that came as quite a shock to us is 'Don't Look Any Further' by The Writers Block, #95 here for Ajanaeda - after they were caught up in 99 Souls-gate and vetoed mid-contest I really thought they'd replaced it with a potentially even bigger hit but somehow it missed out. Very reminiscent of FARC's top 2 hit 'Trapped' and also sporting a very... interesting video. Speaking of interesting videos by DNQs from BJSC 71, at #92 we have the first of our 8 Terra Avium entries, the brilliantly spookyscary 'You're Always Good' by OOFJ. Terra Avium have earnt their stripes as purveyors of the ~scary~ as later proven by their hosting of the Halloween spinoff (not to mention another of their main contest entries which will feature much later). Vülkyria are a country who, on paper, should probably have received a lot more points from me - their last 2 entries have not quite hit the spot for me unfortunately but they manage a place on the list at #94 with the one before that, the underrated 'Hold On' by Grandtheft and Sleepy Tom which very much reminds me of something that may have been sent by Aeroche, and is also far better than the pretty limp Sleepy Tom track that became an actual hit. Pfft. Back to the bizarre DNQs at #93 with N DNTN, clearly Merely is just cursed to DNQ whenever she's sent to contests I host as it happened last year with 'Forever' as well. The even better 'Scandinavia' (THAT CHORUS) is the first of 5 top 100 appearances for N DNTN anyway. Finally at #91 it's Tartford's biggest hit to date and also my favourite of their entries, Son Lux's 'You Don't Know Me' which perfectly blends fresh and modern production with some frail-sounding vocals. Also delivering with a cool video. We like these.

'Pakka Sharabi' the music video was filmed in a gentleman's club literally 5 mins away from where I live :') yay though  I know you prefer 'Look/Lak' but glad this was received well too (i don't know which one i prefer :(). Maybe we'll have some more Bhangra tunes to come in '16? :o :desi:

Also liking Eves The Behavior, Eaves, Merely, Son Lux and OOFJ (y)

Yassss 'You Don't Know Me' <3 Tartford rather on form in the past two contests, but particularly that song.

'Sabotage', 'TV' and 'Pakka Sharabi' are the other main highlights there.

I actually had never seen that OOFJ video before as I didn't know there was one (flop etc.)...err wow  S'pose it matches the unsettling tone of the song though, great to see it here anyway and my other seven entries still to come *.*

Looking lovely with the commentary/format etc as well (though I do hope you actually finish this :heehee:)

I hadn't seen the OOFJ video before now either (I'm listening back through all these songs as I post them to assist my commentary ) - I actually quite like it, it's just very inventive I'll say! :P

I finished my BJSC EOY last year!!! Plus I have some actual work I need to be doing, so plenty of procrastinating to do. I'm sure I'll get this done. x

(Thx for all comments so far x Posting at least one more section tonight ~)

Best songs of the year - 90-81

090 Utopia 75 // Cuushe - Daze

089 Botanikka 79 // IAMX - Happiness

088 Harmonica 72 // The Flavr Blue - We Can Go Blind

087 Cumulonimbia 71 // Lxury - Pick You Up

086 Fljótavík 71 // Christine And The Queens - Christine

Utopia are one of our favourite countries so it's been sad to see their participation becoming less frequent this year. It was also sad to see just how few people appreciated the entrancing beauty of 'Daze' by Cuushe, which appeared in the contest we hosted and only got points from 3 countries in its semi-final. We were obviously one of them, giving it 7 (it also got 12 from N DNTN - huzzah for taste - and 3 from PRoJ). That's #90 here. At #89 is the first of 3 top 100 appearances for Botanikka who we loved a lot this year, mainly due to their trance entries early in the year and in the contest just gone, but they also delivered with the retro spooky sound of IAMX's 'Happiness' in the off-trance months. Harmonica's least successful entry this year (?!) was The Flavr Blue's 'We Can Go Blind', despite it sounding like something the alt-y pop-y blogs would spaff over and with good reason. We really hope that Rejects voters can give this a second chance but it's unlikely in such a massive field with many more obvious qualifiers. Ah well. It claims 88th place here. Repetitive but euphoric floorfiller 'Pick You Up' by Lxury is at #87 for Cumulonimbia, often among the providers of the best dance songs in the contest. I hope you're satisfied with this position Doctor B - but you have 2 more songs to come nonetheless :o Then at #86 we have Christine And The Queens, who has 2 songs in the top 100. It's her Fljótavíkian entry 'Christine' that plays second fiddle despite being a bigger hit in the contest. Persephonia didn't vote for 'Christine' due to its subtle charms only properly getting us JUST after we sent our votes, which we still regret to this day, hopefully a place in our EOY top 100 is some compensation x

085 Cor Lupus 77 // Five Knives - Savages

084 FARC 74 // Tkay Maidza - U-Huh

083 Bignia-Zaragovina 71 // Zack Binspin - Moptop Tweenybop (My Hair's Too Long) (feat. Blingo)

082 Trifoski 78 // Kero Kero Bonito - Picture This

081 Terra di Campioni 74 // Sleeping With Sirens - If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn (Acoustic Version)

Another song that received no points from Persephonia but makes it into our EOY top 100 anyway, #85 is the sole appearance for Cor Lupus with Five Knives' 'Savages' which grew on me a lot after the contest as Cody continued to spam it on plug.dj / dubtrack.fm, now my clear favourite of their entries as well as their biggest hit to date. It reminds me of a slightly more rocky version of Krewella's 'Alive', another song I probably shouldn't like as much as I do. #84 is a bit of feel-good female rap from FARC, their autoqualifier 'U-Huh' by Tkay Maidza which I first heard over in the PopJustice Song Contest and initially wasn't really a fan but it proved to be a big grower. The chorus kind of sounds like she never bothered to finish writing it, but it somehow works. Also just found out she's Australian. Take notes Iggy. Bignia-Zaragovina started the year with the truly iconic 'Moptop Tweenybop (My Hair's Too Long)' by Zack Binspin feat. Blingo (rumour has it, this was the start of the whole 'long hair don't care' thing) ((also, an offcut from a genuine UK top 5 album!!!)), a bit of a Skype injoke / novelty entry but it puts a big smile on my face every time I hear it, so it goes in the EOY, at #83. And Blingo got barz doe. Maybe it'd do better if it was sent now everyone loves Binspin's real-life inspiration... One of Trifoski's naughty self-recycles this year, Kero Kero Bonito's 'Picture This' is at #82, a really cute little song with some PC Music-esque vocals which is always a good thing, especially like the Japanese parts interweaved. All in all it wasn't quite the MOMENT 'Sick Beat' was but a very nice song nonetheless. Terra di Campioni only entered 4 times this year (and only bothered voting in half of those <_<) - but beyond their dodgy debut entry they've really hit their stride and I hope to see them properly return in 2016 with some more tunes. The best of their entries this year for me was the beautiful 'If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn' (Acoustic Version) by Sleeping With Sirens, a big risk of an entry which sadly didn't pay off. Not the only fantastic entry by a Terra that DNQed in BJSC 74... more on that much, much later, but Terra di Campioni's offering is #81.

"Savages" :wub: :wub:

Am I the only one who thinks IAMX is basically a more improved but less budgeted AWOLNATION?

Petition to get the brackets in my country name REMOVED for next year begins now ^_^ x

Yay for Eaves appearing though, you can believe what you like but I do genuinely like the song

Catching up on this, great commentary on this so far. Excited to have four entries top 80 *.*

Best songs of the year - 80-71

http://i.imgur.com/S25lzDB.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/ANh5upN.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/8r19yJs.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/JRZcu5m.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/QIkY6hx.png

080 Skall 79 // Telephones - Blaff

079 Patvia 72 // Rob Gasser - Taking Over (feat. Miyoki)

078 Triangledonia 76 // Sound Remedy and Illenium - Spirals (feat. King Deco)

077 Mulgracia 73 // Lema - Magnetic Nights (Shog 2Faces Remix Edit) (feat. Christina Novelli)

076 Hendinia 77 // GFOTY - Friday Night

When it comes to no-hoper lengthy dance instrumentals, Ethanola are typically the country that come to mind but Skall outshined them this year with their 2 most recent entries. Both made the top 150 but the first of the two, Telephones' 'Blaff', is the higher one at #80. Those eight minutes seem to go by in no time at all listening to those entrancing Balearic house vibes. The now mysteriously AWOL Patvia are at #79 with what I thought and hoped would be their biggest hit - as it is by far their best entry - but alas was a massive flop sadly leaving BJSC 72 without a token drum n bass hit, the super energetic 'Taking Over' by Rob Gasser feat. Miyoki. Then there's another example of a country's best entry being their least successful at #78, Triangledonia's finest moment, Sound Remedy and Illenium's 'Spirals', featuring former Persephonian potential artist King Deco (check out her song 'One' to see what could have been for Persephonia!!1) Thankfully 'Spirals' has already had some justice with a #11 finish in 'Your Best of BJSC - The Rejects' but it's still a mystery how this glorious melodic dubstep track managed to fail so spectacularly in its contest. Hang on a second... there are 3 artists on 'Spirals'. It's at #78. 7+8=15, 1+5=6. 'Elaine' has 6 letters, as does 'Spadam'. 6+6=12, 1+2=3. Loomynarty confirmed :o Then yet another DNQ in this unlucky bunch and proving Mulgracia's dance entries aren't always suicide-inducing - just most of the time - they're at #77 with the Shog 2Faces Remix Edit of Lema's 'Magnetic Nights' (feat. Christina Novelli), a certified ~sick~ progressive house banger :music: Just missing the top 75 are my former most-voted-for country Hendinia at #76 with GFOTY's 'Friday Night', a quintessential PC Music offering combining their usual cutesy vocals with some of the trashiest lyrics found in the contest this year and a banging, banging, banging, banging, banging, banging instrumental. Hendinia had a period of being really good again in the second half of the year (with one obvious exception). More of this when you return in 2016 pls.

075 Greenfroze 76 // Robert DeLong - Don't Wait Up

074 Tinnmark 73 // Arcane Station - Make Me A Bird (feat. Marianne Hekkilæ)

073 Land of DW 76 // Art Vs. Science - In This Together

072 Cadelicia 73 // easyFun - Laplander

071 Aquafina 77 // Alex Metric and Jacques Lu Cont - Safe With You (feat. Malin)

#75 goes to Greenfroze with their Trifoski import Robert DeLong and 'Don't Wait Up', sounding like it was lifted straight out of the 80s with more than a hint of Pet Shop Boys to it, and with a killer of a chorus it's no wonder it was Greenfroze's biggest hit this year. It still doesn't quite rise to the level of greatness of his previous entry 'Global Concepts' but it was nice to see DeLong get a top 10 anyway. They're just pipped by the other Norwegian BJSC entrant Tinnmark with 'Make Me A Bird' by Arcane Station feat. Marianne Hekkilæ, I remember being initially surprised when this qualified as it didn't stand out that much on first listen but it grew more and more with further inspection, it builds really nicely to a rather glorious final chorus. Tinnmark certainly had an interesting year with an eclectic bunch of entries. It just missed out on the top 150 but I feel like I should also shout out Raske Penge's 'Hvem Ved?' for being one of the more bonkers entries this year, as I said at the time who knew Danish-language dancehall was a thing and that it'd be so good? (To like... me and a couple of other people at least). Land of DW are the first country so far to appear twice in the top 100, their highest appearance is at #73 with Art Vs. Science's 'In This Together', one I was very pleased to see qualifying (not that I ever expected it to miss out but some others apparently did). It's one of those songs I already knew I was going to love from the first few seconds, excellent production and packed full of hooks. Just beating GFOTY for the highest PC Music entry, and also the highest entry for Cadelicia, is easyFun's 'Laplander' at #72. The usual PC Music stuff applies here - slightly mood-confusing cutesy vocals and typically great production. Can't go far wrong with PC Music. So it's a little confusing why this DNQed when PC Music tracks usually do really well. Whatever. I actually forgot how much I enjoyed this song until revisiting it in the Rejects the other day, saving me from potentially having an EOY countdown with no #Cadephonia representation at all which would just have been wrong. Also just checking the YouTube comments and apparently the high-pitched hook (which I always thought was 'daddy, daddy' but apparently is either 'die, die' or 'dirty, dirty' :')) is a Jessie J sample. So yeah, PC Music can even turn the devil herself into something enjoyable! Finally at #71 it's one of Aquafina's two non-disqualified winners, 'Safe With You' by Alex Metric and Jacques Lu Cont feat. Malin. I never actually bothered to check this song out when it was briefly relevant a couple of years before finally being sent to the contest so it was a discovery for me - and one I'm grateful for, as it is a tune and a half. I'm a little surprised it still managed to win after all that time but it certainly would have been a very likely winner when it originally came out (if it had been able to pass the veto back then!) so not at all a non-winnery song, just... it was old to a lot of people. Aquafina's other 2 slightly more infamous 'winners' are both still to come.

Some Spirals lurve  I was not aware you had sent King Deco before :o it's put me off sending any more melodic Dubstep next year as you can't really get any better than that :(
