694k for Christina Aguilera's 'Genie in a Bottle'. I think the last figure was 681,569 from w/e 17 November 2012, that's 12k in 47 weeks(?) so ~250 copies per week.
Miley Cyrus has sales of 2.5m in the UK :o

That's over one million more than someone on Haven estimated back when 'We Can't Stop' debuted! :o

That figure for Miley can't be right, surely?

Most of her singles (besides The Climb and We Can't Stop) were minor hits and the Can't Be Tamed album (and the EP she released in 2009) barely sold anything so where are all the sales coming from?

The Climb, Fly on the Wall, 7 Things, Party in the USA and See You Again probably sold much more than people expected even tho they never reached the top 10. Miley performed all of them on huge, highly-rated TV shows in the UK. Besides, Hannah Montana soundtracks probably sold quite alright, even though it failed to catch people's attention 'cause they weren't listed on the regular album charts (they were on the Compilations list).

I don't know why people are so surprised with Miley's recent success. She has always been huge in the UK. A few years ago, she sold out five O2 Arena concerts in like minutes, didn't she?

If she had "always been huge" surely one of her many singles would have made the top ten?
I wouldn't exactly say she wasn't a big deal to some extent before but she's definitely had quite a marked upturn since 'We Can't Stop'.

What a failed logic. Selling 100k tickets to her London concerts in minutes is surely a bigger sign of being huge than having a number 1 hit, something that has been achieved by hundreds of acts no one even bought one album for.

Selena Gomez and Hilary Duff had top 10 hits long before Miley and that didn't change the fact Miley was much bigger than either of them in the UK. Obviously, chart positions aren't everything.

And anyway, her current success is the direct result of the fact she was extremely well-known for years. It's not like she's been doing any huge type of promo for the last few years, people were checking for her solely because she was Miley Cyrus.

I agree. Miley has been famous for YEARS. Why are people acting surprised? And I'm sure songs like Party in the USA and The Climb had long chart runs and good trickle sales.

Did she ever release any Hannah Montana singles?

Maybe they're including those.

All of her biggest hits, which as Eric_Blob mentioned probably had good trickle sales and long chart runs, have been her solo hits (The Climb was a Miley Cyrus single but was actually the main song for the Hannah Montana Movie) but I think her Hannah Montana soundtrack CDs had decent sales also.

Here's the original post:

This week's MW has given Miley Cyrus' top 3, so here's my stab at the Top 10:-

1. The Climb :: 311

2. Party In The USA :: 245

3. See You Again :: 150

4. Hoedown Throwdown :: 140

5. We Can't Stop :: 128

6. Can't Be Tamed :: 125

7. 7 Things :: 115

8. Fly On The Wall :: 110

9. Butterfly Fly Away :: 30

10. When I Look At You :: 25

#1, #2, #3, #5 from Music Week 12/8/13

#4, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10 Shireblogger estimates to 12/8/13

#5 = one week sales only

#9 = Miley Cyrus & Billie Ray Cyrus

Not my cup of tea, but around 1.4 million of sales in total suggests a few people out there are keen
