October 17, 201311 yr Well there's loads of artists who sell more singles than albums. It's only picked up on with the girls because they're more of a traditional (ie late 90s/early 00s) pop act in a climate that is so dominated by thudding Guetta synths and American 'superstars' $l*t dropping while wearing dresses made out of two patches of elastoplast and dental floss. The Saturdays have endured for as long as they have, I feel, because there's a continuity and a comforting presence about them. I think that's a far greater asset to have than twelfty billion sales. And the new album is good. Not as good as 'On Your Radar' for me personally but still a solid album. Edited October 17, 201311 yr by ThePensmith
October 17, 201311 yr We're not getting into a Girls Aloud vs The Saturdays argument in here.. or anywhere in fact. Discuss The Saturdays' album. Oh no did I start one of those? I was just saying that I thubk our girls have done amazingly well is all :)
October 17, 201311 yr Interesting, the uploader states that the shoot took place before Christmas and supposedly the shoot was intended to be used for a fragrance.
October 18, 201311 yr I guess they couldn't avoid using the pictures intended for something else, as by the time they were pregnant, it was too late for another photoshoot ....
October 18, 201311 yr The breakdown in 'Problem with Love' is simply awesome! And the transition among their vocals is way too amazing :) Edited October 18, 201311 yr by holler
October 18, 201311 yr #8 in today's midweek update - today and tomorrow left to keep hold of top 10. Edited October 18, 201311 yr by Encore
October 18, 201311 yr I expected them to fall to #8, presumably Miley and AM overtook them (as I predicted). I don't think they should drop much further! Bit awkward if they get a third #9 peaking album though!
October 18, 201311 yr #8 in today's midweek update - today and tomorrow left to keep hold of top 10. Oh God. I'm worried this will miss the top ten again. Wordshaker was #5 on the Tuesday and slipped to #9 by the Sunday, On Your Radar was #16 and fell to #23 by the Sunday and as recently as last year Cover Drive's album was #6 in the midweeks, fell to #8 by the Friday and then was #14 by the Sunday. Where are the signings?! Where's the promo?! And I've saw alot of posts by fans saying they want Leave A Light On as a single because Not Giving Up will be shit live. The hell? That is such a bad excuse. For a start not all songs translate well live (Work, Notorious, All Fired Up) and it's not like it's going to be performed on tons of TV shows if it gets released. At best, it'll probably get a Daybreak and Loose Women slot where they'll mime half of it anyway. The bottom line is that radio are very fickle with The Saturdays and they are far more likely to get an airplay hit (and thus, a sales hit) with a smash anthem like Not Giving Up than a ballad. Not Giving Up is the fan favourite, got the most cherry picks, is very Capital friendly and is a huge song. If they really want to waste this opportunity by releasing a ballad for the sole reason that they haven't released one on a while and it's got "good lyrics lolz" then they're idiots. It's not about them releasing their favourite song, it's about which one will make them more money and make their brand more successful. If they want to release Leave A Light On, then they should at least release Not Giving Up first, keep radio on their side, get them another top ten single and keep them relevant and THEN release the ballad. If they do it the other way round (Leave A Light On then Not Giving Up) it'll just be a mess because radio won't be interested in Not Giving Up once the ballad bombs and it'll end up being a 'People Like Us' situation where the best song flops majorly because the previous song killed their airplay.

THIS TBH! :cheer:
October 18, 201311 yr My favourite track is the problem with love. I think its a lot stronger than Not giving up. Hopefully, it will be a future single release!!
October 18, 201311 yr According to Wikipedia it charted at #16 in Ireland,is it true? That's a bit gutting if it is...
October 18, 201311 yr It has indeed charted at #16. Tbh it's not a bad result for them in Ireland, considering their previous history... 34 - Chasing Lights 36 - Wordshaker 10 - Headlines! 43 - On Your Radar 16 - Living For The Weekend http://www.irma.ie/aucharts.asp 'Disco Love' falls from #9 to #17.
October 18, 201311 yr They've done well in Ireland! Second highest peaking album of theirs yet! Hopefully it will be the same case here too!
October 18, 201311 yr I think Leave A Light On is definitely the better choice for the next single. Coming into winter, it has a very 'cold' feeling to it, and I think it'd be good. It's more different from The Saturdays but not too far away from their sound to do well.
