Yes, I was going to say that it should become mandatory. I know now that its better to have to wait an extra day for results if need be than have this issue happening every contest. :kink:

YAY.

Looks like we will have a full house of voters then as I see Phlox is now viewing the thread (and Jonjo voted). :D

Late voting finalists will be subject to a points deduction Inkeeping with precedence.

Fairly happy about this as well as it means 'One Woman Army' is still getting deducted even if Phlox votes :kink: Aww for 'Young Boys' though.

Sorry guys (get your X factor sob story heads on)

Unexpectedly had to go to hospital for 4 excruciating days (doing the voting from my mobile in my shmexy hospital gown, snaps available to those who give porcelain the big one two (no, don't hit her)! Unfortunately that meant the semi 1 songs only got one spin each on Tuesday! (Although the amount of melody deficiant ambient music was troubling)

My results may be a hot mess, I literally has no recollection of some of the names. So appols if I overlooked your pop smash!

Eugh, why did the deadline change, I looked yesterday and it said midnight. How ridiculous. I was hoping to be discharged today so I could do proper voting, if id have known about the 7pm deadline I would have voted yesterday. Even the warming said midnight!

How petty of whoever is enforcing that.

Sorry to hear about that Phlox, hope you're okay. The deadline has definitely always been 7pm though.

Nice try but the deadline has been 7pm since September 23rd.

Also, both a site admin and myself received that warning PM and it said 7pm.

While I'm sorry to hear you were hospitalised, and glad you're feeling better, any goodwill you had from that (from me anyway) entirely evaporated when you tried to pull a fast one on us.

Deadline was 7pm phlox, I got one and just read the title. Have looked and it clearly says 7pm. So take your punishment like I am :P
ALSO, (as long as I am on a roll I may as well crack on) the people you're calling petty are the moderators and I really would advise against calling us petty when we've been reasonable thus far.
Give the guy a BREAK, he's been in hospital. (Hope you're okay Phlox).
Oh come on it really is just a missed deadline, not a personal attack. I've always preferred the idea of full house voting over petty deductions (I have honestly always seen then that way if like within a few hours of the deadline). Getting the best overall consensus of the voters should be priority, non?

I genuinely though it was 12, I blame the concoction of drugs and steroids!

I'm not kicking up a fuss, just saying it's all a bit too serious, isn't it.

Thanks for the kind words, should be going home this morning, ready to be as passive aggressive about the deduction as possible.

Just a thought (obviously not related to anything this time round but it's been playing on my mind) is a one contest ban really necessary for people who don't vote? Maybe I they're a repeat offender but it seems a bit unnecessarily harsh in normal circumstances.
Well people should be punished for disobeying the rules, shouldn't they?

I agree with Chris, the 33% points deduction is enough in my opinion, unless they do it all the time in which case what's really the point of even taking part?

A 33% deduction is only a punishment if the only thing you're here for is $ucce$$. Because the vast majority of us are here for new music, a 1 contest ban is more of an incentive to vote. Over the past 6 years the rule has gone unenforced at times and during those times there was actually more non-voters than there is when the rule is in play. As a deterrent it actually works so it's not something i'd really look at removing if I'm honest because the data supports it's existence. The amount of non-voting became such a problem it's why we started re-enforcing the rule again!

I know it can be a little harsh but I'd rather get a full house of voters month in month out and this is a more effective way of ensuring that than just the 33% penalty.

Repeat offenders is something I am hoping we will look at over the TBO/Xmas break to restructure the deterrent
