Posted October 13, 201311 yr I am a big fan of Britney Spears ever since she burst onto the scene with Baby One More Time which is iconic and I'm sure that most people will agree, and I own nearly all of her studio albums apart from Femme Fatale which in my opinion I couldn't get into to and I weren't a fan of any of the singles from that album. I'm sure that I will get a lot of flack from users of this forum, but I don't care that's just my opinion. But I do own all of her other studio albums. Thinkin' About You (Baby One More Time The run of singles from her debut was almost perfect, Baby One More Time, Sometimes, (You Drive Me) Crazy & Born To Make You Happy, But I couldn't help that feel that the album could have benefited from one more single, okay I know that "From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart" was released for the American market, and I'm not really a fan of that song, and I just really like "TAY" was a really decent track and could have been another smash hit for her. Oops I Did It Again (Album) I've always thought that the run of singles from this album was totally wrong, I mean why did "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" get released as a single, it's one of the weakest tracks on the album and basically the track tanked worldwide. Here's what I think the run of singles should have went. Oops I Did It Again Don't Go Knockin' On My Door Stronger Lucky Can't Make You Love Me Anticipating(Britney) This track is one of my all time favourite Britney Spears songs and why this track wasn't released over the terrible "Boys", I'll never know, I know this track was released in France, but I would have loved to have seen a proper video and I reckon this would have been a much better fit as the soundtrack to that Austin Powers movie instead of "Boys". Let Me Be (Britney) This would have made a stronger follow up to "I'm A Slave 4 U" instead of "Overprotected", but I do like that song as well, but it does sound like all her other stuff which is probably why it struggled on the American charts, I think "Let Me Be" would have been stronger choice. Breathe On Me & I Got That Boom, Boom In The Zone These two tracks are my faves on the album, and they both would have been fantastic 4th and 5th singles following an already perfect run of singles, and why was that terrible Outrageous track released I don't know and it bombed, not hard to see why. Toy Soldier Blackout The Blackout album was packed full of great tracks, and I think this would have been a better third single choice and at least 4th. Hot As Ice Blackout I just love this track, it's so catchy. Get Back Why this didn't make the album cut I don't know, Another wasted opportunidy. Heave On Earth Another decent track that could have been easily released as a single and would have ended the run perfectly. Unusual You Why this didn't get released I don't know, this would have made a fantastic 4th single instead of the crappy "Radar", this track showed Britney with a different dancey sound but it's still her. Kill The Lights Another wasted track that could have elevated the Circus album, and with a killer video this track would or could have been huge.
October 13, 201311 yr Femme Fatale Inside Out (Drop Dead) Beautiful Circus Unusual You Blackout Hot As Ice Why Should I Be Sad Oops!...I Did It Again Don't Go Knockin' On My Door In The Zone Showdown Shadow ...Baby One More Time Soda Pop
October 14, 201311 yr I don't know if I'd change any of the singles released, but I happen to like these ones a lot: From ...Baby One More Time: I Will Be There This song has a Natalie Imbruglia vibe to it, in my opinion and it would've been a great end of 90's release if you ask me. Maybe it's not as strong as the songs that have actually been released from her debut album, since the singles picked were perfect. From Oops!... I Did It Again: Where Are You Now It might have been a better ballad choice than Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know, but I can totally understand the latter being released instead, as it was written by Shania Twain who was huge back then and I suppose her team was contemplating that as big hype for the song. From Britney: I think this album had its singles very well picked and I wouldn't have released anything else from it. It is, in my opinion, her weakest album so that might explain why I wouldn't have released anything differently. From In The Zone: Breathe On Me Wasn't this planned to be released at some point? It'd have been a perfect single from that era. I could've totally pictured this being a 5th single after Outrageous if that era would've been a full force back in 2003/2004. From Blackout: The perfect album with the perfect era for it. This album showcased a very dark period in Britney's life, and the whole darkness that surrounded it was perfect for me. I think everything about it makes it iconic and the quintessential Britney album that it is for pop music culture. If anything, I might have released Hot As Ice as a final single, but I seriously can't imagine Blackout and its era any different from what it was. From Circus: Quicksand Don't even get me started on this album :( First of all, I would've switched ALL of the bonus tracks with Kill The Lights, Blur, Mmm Papi and My Baby. Second of all, Quicksand would've been a perfect single choice, with Lady Gaga emerging as huge pop force back then, a remix with more vocals from her would've propelled the song as a worldwide No.1 hit single. Even when most of her fans praise the Circus era, I think it was a complete mess: from the patchy album through the rather weird single choices. Unusual You On the same vein/level as the likes of And Then We Kiss, Trip To Your Heart or Heaven On Earth. I love these type of Britney songs :) From Femme Fatale: Although I was all for it back in the day, I now see the release of Criminal as a big mistake non event single. I'm not sure if anything else besides Hold It Against Me, Till The World Ends or I Wanna Go was worthy of being released, so I'm going for my personal favourites from the album: How I Roll Would Bloodshy & Avant ever done wrong? The production on this song is incredible, and its catchiness is beyond ridiculous. One of my favourite Britney songs ever. Trip To Your Heart Bloodshy & Avant once again. This is a personal favourite and the fact that it is so underrated among Britney fans makes it much more special to me. Scary What the actual f***ery? The girl wrote this incredible pop song, easily the best from the album in my opinion and it is left as a Premium Fan Edition bonus track?
October 17, 201311 yr ...Baby One More Time "E-Mail My Heart" instead of "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart". A much better and sweeter song. Oops!...I Did It Again "When Your Eyes Say It" instead of "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know". I really don't get the ballad singles from her first 2 eras. Britney "Cinderella" instead of "I Love Rock n Roll". Because the latter is just a shit cover, really, a bit fun but shit. In the Zone "Breathe on Me" or "Early Mornin'" instead of "Outrageous". The video would feature nude bed scenes where she probably wouldn't hurt her ankle. Blackout "Why Should I Be Sad" as single #4. What a perfect ending to her dark era, her realising she shouldn't be sad and moving on. An extremely underrated song too. Circus "Unusual You" instead of "Radar". I love Radar but it's a Blackout song and Unusual You was a fan favourite. Femme Fatale Can't really think of a better song that wasn't released. Probably Gasoline but it wouldn't do anything.
October 17, 201311 yr Can't Make You Love Me Breathe On Me (I think this one was the big missed opportunity as the rightful follow-up to 'Everytime') Everybody Unusual You Trouble Edited October 17, 201311 yr by Silver Rocket
October 17, 201311 yr Baby On More Time : Amazing singles Oops ! I Did It Again : "Dear Diary" or "Girl In The Mirror" instead of "Stronger" Britney : "Cinderella" instead of "I'm Slave For You" Blackout : I dislike all songs from this album (exclude "Radar"), so I don't know. In The Zone : "Shadow" and "Brave New Girl" instead of "Me Against The Music" and "Outrageous" Circus : All good singles, but I prefer "Lace And Leather" / "Kill The Lights" / "Shattered Glass" instead of "Circus" Femme Fatale : agree with the real singles choice. October 17, 201311 yr NO ALEX! Nothing should and nothing ever will replace 'Stronger'! :( "Oops ! I Did It Again" is my favourite Britney's album. I like "Stronger", but it's my second least favourite song from this album (only "Satisfaction" is worse)
October 17, 201311 yr Haha, can you actually imagine if she'd have released either of those instead of 'Stronger'? That's one of her best singles, you're insane.

October 18, 201311 yr "INSIDE OUT" screams the entire population with functional hearing.I will never see the (full) appeal with this song. It always seems like it's setting up for something HUGE, but then just wimps out and becomes so lackluster :( So much love for 'I Will Be There' too <3 BOMT Era: 01. 'Baby One More Time' 02. October 18, 201311 yr EVERYONE STOP. BOMT: 1.Baby One More Time 2.Sometimes 3.Crazy 4.Born To Make You Happy 5. BRITNEY: 1.Slave 4 U 2.Not A Girl 3.Overprotected 4.Lonely 5.Boys IN THE ZONE: 1.Me Against The Music (this is essential as the lead to capitalize on the VMA performance, and it's f***ing underrated as f***). 2.Toxic 3.Everytime 4.Boom, Boom (US) // Breathe On Me (UK) 5.Outrageous (junkie xl remix) BLACKOUT: 1.Gimme More 2.Piece Of Me 3.Break The Ice 4.Radar 5.Heaven On Earth (TTYH wishes it was 1/3 as good) 6.Toy Soldier 7.Get Naked (I Got A Plan) 8.Hot as Ice 9.Ooh Ooh Baby ---Rihanna did it with not near as quality tracks. I any album EVER deserved to be whored out singles wise, it's Blackout. I really need her to start doing more then just 3 PROPER singles and a lazy 4th single. How about FIVE proper and the sixth be lazy. Damn, so many missed opportunities... But it just further proves how amazing her discography is.
October 18, 201311 yr Is it anybody here, who dislike "Blackout" album ? I find it a bit messy and I can't listen to it in full without her 'vocals' on it driving me up the wall. I'd say it has about 4 really solid tracks though (I still can't believe they released the utterly awful 'Break The Ice' :manson: That and 'Why Should I Be Sad' were the two real horrors on that album).
October 18, 201311 yr This 'Blackout' hate. WHAT EVEN IS IT?! :drama: Oh yes, I completely forgot 'Unusal You' from the 'Circus' era. I think I might have that in place of 'Out From Under' and have OFU close the era.
October 18, 201311 yr Blackout does not have one single flaw. I do think "Get Back" should have been a hidden track after 'WSIBS', though.
October 18, 201311 yr EVERYONE STOP. 5.Heaven On Earth (TTYH wishes it was 1/3 as good) JUST NO. I can't believe you call yourself a Britney fan and make such a statement. You're in my prayers and I hope you get all the help you need.
