Lady GaGA needs to realise she needs to release songs like these, different ones, and change her image. We don't even want songs like Venus.

I've just realised why this isn't clicking fully - it's about 5 BPM too fast. It could have been brilliant, although I still like it. A bit like "Heavy Metal Lover" with a proper chorus.

According to the sales report it sold 22,915 copies; would have been #10 if it was chart eligible! :(

I'm all for zany weird pop songs, but imagine if she'd released Goverment Hooker over The Edge Of Glory! Not that Government Hooker is really that similar to Venus, but you get the point!

 

This will bigger than anything last era I'm sure. It'll at least be about equal to The Edge Of Glory.

Tbh having heard 'Venus' for the first time on Sunday alongside the superb 'Do What You Want', the latter is everything I wanted 'ARTPOP' to be. Good, simple pop. 'Venus' (so far) is everything I did not want it to be. I love most of the stuff that she comes up with but even as a big fan I can see that she needs to simplify things and go back to basics. If there's more 'DWUW' on ARTPOP, consider me excited.

I have a love/hate thing with Richardson. I kinda love his style but he's a bit too creepy. If the image is anything to go by then the video could be really great (if it's not 15 minutes long).

I wouldn't worry about that at all April. The song is only just getting started and one of the problems with the last era was big opening sales and then falling super fast so she's done well to keep 'Applause' in the top 10 for so long in the US this time round. I'm confident the video will be out around the time it's huge on radio there which would = a very good peak and longevity.

 

On the concept i think it could well be the hip surgery as Regina alluded to. And maybe a 'Bad Romance 2.0' going on the images so far/theme of that video and this song :o
