I always choose my entries on the impact they have on first listen now and have done for the past 4 or so contests. If I'm blown away and actually remember the song after a single listen I'll very likely send it (and then as it naturally continues to grow with more listens I get more and more behind it).

I think I've got to become more wary of it now as I think that's what happened a couple of contests ago when I sent Fever Dream. Looking back, I only got properly behind it once I started listening to it more and more and I feel that it is more the type of song that keeps growing on you and therefore wasn't ideal for this type of contest.

Incidentally I can't recall a single thing about 'Julia' and I listened to that more than most other BJSC songs because I wanted it to grow on me. Guess I'm just weird.

Hmm, I think I'm close to settling on an entry now. Still deliberating between two, although ONE of them seems to have a certain fabulous country's seal of approval so I'm leaning towards that. Poor original potential, though.

In unrelated news 'Cry No More' by VAULTS is playing on Radio 1 RIGHT NOW. This is really growing on me, good entry Dandy*!

Weird to think it's on Radio 1, perhaps they get all their ideas from BJSC eh? :D

 

Anyway, glad it's continuing to grow... it really is one of my favourite things all year. Kinda like London Grammar's 'Strong' in so much that it just gets more beautiful for me with every listen.
