I wouldn't really be surprised if 'Do What U Want' became a staple club hit in the near future which would help it especially on the weekends. Perhaps her first since 'Telephone'?

That's really quite unfortunate timing for the single but good the album. She'll no doubt get a considerable boost in sales on the Saturday and Sunday following the performance but those sales still won't count to Do What U Want's chart position. Only sales from Monday 11th will count. She's going to lose the 2 days that will probably contribute most to the single's sales. Unless of course she's got more UK promo planned.

 

Do What U Want is going to be quite a good seller in the long run though I think. It'll be interesting to see how its sales are reported when it is finally able to chart. I can't remember how it worked with Paradise. Do you get the weekly sale and an update of the total including the ineligible chart weeks?

It certainly looks that way, since if they *had* been, it would have passed 1 million 3 weeks ago - and now be on 1005.5k...

Ooh thanks for that total. That makes 'Paradise' the 20th song to sell a million copies in the decade-to-date :D What a shame it's not official though, I'm not even a big fan of the song but it doesn't deserve to have sales taken off its total imo. I'm sure it will pass a million officially one day though.

Animals seems like the most unlikely song to be a #1 this year. It sounds more like a club hit than anything else. Now Storm Queen... that deserves to be HUGE.

Storm Queen needs to hurry up and "do a Fatboy Slim" and not become anywhere near as big as people and pre-orders are predicting..

I want Little Mix to nab the number 1, I'm pretty bored of 'Look Right Through' whereas 'Move' keeps on growing. I reckon they'll end up at number 3 though, which isn't a bad result. I just hope this one has some longevity like 'Wings'.
