This would probably be better in the Album #12 thread, but nice to see she's having a second pre-album single! She cost herself a Top 10 when 'Get Outta My Way' was released post-album.

The song is classic Kylie sounding. Starts and end with a 90s housey piano and very lush melancholy strings. Not a dance song per say about 116-118 bpm, but remixes could be great. I would say in feeling it's a little bit "aprhodite" a little bit "no more rain" from X. The chorus is anthemic and she sings into the blu-uuuuu-uuuuuuu an a gorgeous high falsetto. The break down and end have some gorgeous falsetto ad libs. I think any long time K fan should be very happy as it fits into her catalogue beautifully! I also heard another song that was more dancey that was great and sung completely falsetto as well...I don't want to give the name of it

"A little bit 'No More Rain'" is not a selling point for me!

 

I'm sure it will be good however "classic Kylie sound" and "any long time K fan should be very happy" doesn't make it sound like it will be reaching too far to a younger audience.

Perhaps the second single will be a little more sonically adventurous. Right now she just needs a guaranteed hit.

Agreed. I get that 'No More Rain' means a fair bit to her, but definitely one of the weakest on 'X' IMO.

Single released confirmed for March 16th by her PR. Two months after the premiere. Seems quite foolish.

I wouldn't call it foolish, I don't see Kylie as the kind of artist who would benefit from having the release at the same time as the premiere.

There's a middle ground between OA/OS and 8 weeks to build radio play. 3-5 weeks would be perfectly sufficient.

Yeah, I'd say 2 months was little long, although they may end up bringing the release date forward like they did for 'All the Lovers' (even if that probably cost it a week at #1! <_<).

Premiered on the 27th of Jan so it'll be out just under 7 weeks after release.

Now let's just hope they bring the release forward 2 weeks. With ratings for the Voice at their highest during the spinny chairs rounds as opposed to the live shows, and the video presumably out by early Feb, the hype will be at its peak next month. Not the middle of March.
