November 9, 201312 yr Supermarkets have a limited amount of space and are only ever going to stock a limited amount of new releases, it's stupid to release on a week with about 10 other high profile releases and expect it to be stocked. You say 10 other high profile releases, but other than James Arthur and Eminem, I wouldn't call any of the other albums 'high' profile releases. And that's not the reason why they haven't got it, there's obviously been a problem.

The 7 above are all much higher profile than Avril Lavigne though, and they certainly are for a supermarket, the likes of Andre Reiu and The Overtones are going to sell far better in Tesco. And don't forget a supermarket chart is also full of compilations and there's loads of those released at this time of year.
November 9, 201312 yr The "problem" is that Avril Lavigne isn't a big enough album act for supermarkets to bother with her these days. I bet you can't get the Young Knives album in supermarkets either but nobody complains about that because they understand why.
