I could count the 'best of' Nickelback on one hand (two fingers - Gotta Be Somebody & How You Remind Me), the rest...hmmm

 

If you cared to listen, you'd find it was now just a complete countdown on the week's sales on iTunes from 4 to 6. The only silly thing about it, lays in the changing around at 6pm. No airplay is featured anymore at all.

 

It has improve massively since June. And doesn't remove songs at all. Plus the presenters aren't dingos.

 

I listened to it while at work on Sunday - its still ridiculous. What they play doesn't correspond with the chart shown on the website because of this 'real time' shit - they'll play a song at a position, then later on the website's chart update, it will either have completely disappeared or be a lot lower with a few new entries that go completely unannounced. It's impossible to keep up. Not to mention they don't even play the whole top 40 (because there's no need to play anything new when they can play all the songs that are on the radio 24/7 now is there? :))

 

Plus I'm not comfortable about this 'iTunes weekly top 10' they play at the start of the show, because they market as if its the iTunes top 10 at the moment and that when it changes to the ACTUAL iTunes top 10 sometime in the show, they make it out as if people have changed it! NO THEY f***ING HAVEN'T because the list they played at the start WASN'T the actual iTunes live top 10, in reality about one or two positions would've changed since 4 o'clock

 

I know the official chart show AND the chart itself has its flaws (they've been well documented this year), but I'd happily take that any day than this mess of a chart, and its quite sad that everyone seems to disagree.

There's people with worse voices out there! :P I think 'How You Remind Me' and 'Rockstar' are great tracks, but most people seem to really HATE them!

 

I don't think there is... Well, Shakira and Jessie J perhaps.

There's plenty worse voices out there - Nicki Minaj, Lily Allen, the guy from Hurts, Demi Lovato, etc. etc.

Amazing sales for Eminem, I reckon he could end up around 130k by Sunday though I'm still unsure he will beat Daft Punks 1st week sales! That and the whole top 7 are new entries, though I reckon Katy and James Blunt will probably climb back up and push The Wanted down

 

Great to see Storm Queen at number one, shame Eminem will end up staying at number one but I've got my fingers crossed for a miracle! Also, thrilled to see Britney top 5 I hope she doesn't fall away too fast though I expect she'll end up at 6/7 by the weekend! Shame PSB won't hold on to that top 40 place but at least they've appeared in the update :)

But it's still not a weekly chart as it only included sales from a small fraction of the week. Most sales are not included.

I know the official chart show AND the chart itself has its flaws (they've been well documented this year), but I'd happily take that any day than this mess of a chart, and its quite sad that everyone seems to disagree.

I think most people here at least agree with you about preferring the official chart. I certainly do.

I think Andre Rieu could finish inside the top 3 on Sunday quite easily ^_^ his concert is televised on Sky Arts, Friday... depends how many people watch Sky Arts.

"Rockstar" remains the worse song I have ever heard in my 30 years on Earth. A man resembling a poodle "singing" in some forced cod American accent and don't even get me started on the song in question...

 

In total contrast, Rockstar is one of my all-time T10 fav songs!

Plus, Nickelback's Canadian, so it's not really a forced accent (unless I'm misunderstanding Scotty's post)

The Big Top 40 can be good at 6pm. Not ALL of the songs are Capital based, they've played stuff by Haim and Arctic Monkeys before. I do prefer the concept of the Official Chart, most definitely, but it's certainly less interesting to listen to after 6pm, and people saying "urgh it's not official so it's shit!!!1" without listening to it or judging it before you listen to it is a bit ignorant to say the least.

The top 3 singles should have great sales, im behind Little Mix this week and would love them to be number 1 but i know 3 is the best they will get but they should get at least 80,000 sales which is great.

I'm glad James Arthur is no longer number 1 in the albums.
