This year's John Lewis Christmas TV advert called 'The Bear and The Hare' has just been revealed, and it features a cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Lily Allen. It will be first shown on TV during the first advert break on Saturday's episode of The X Factor.

 

It says on John Lewis' official website here that 'Somewhere Only We Know' will be available on iTunes soon. This follows Gabrielle Aplin's 'The Power of Love' which reached #1 on the official UK chart after being featured on last year's advert.

 

I can't wait to hear the full version of the song as the 2 minutes in the advert sounds great! :wub:

Wasn't that fussed when I heard she was doing a cover of a Keane song but it's actually a really nice version :)

I thought it would be a disaster, but it's actually quite good. Weirdly Christmassy even though it's not a Christmas song!

I want Stooshe to give Lily a taste of her own medicine and call her up for turning an amazing song into a shit song (not something that Stooshe actually did, mind you)...

I like it. The advert's cute too but I can't help but think it reminds of me something I've seen before, maybe when I was a kid...I wanna say 'Animals of Farthing Wood' but there wasn't a bear in that. Anyway, carry on!

Admittedly if you said Lily Allen was covering Keane before now I'd have been excited whatever but it really does sound pleasant on the advert.

Glad they are getting it on iTunes fairly quickly, but I think they should've released it today like Gabrielle did last year as that would have meant it would be on iTunes ready for when the advert is shown on X Factor tomorrow.

I love Lily but I'm not sure she's right for the soft, melodic Christmas advert thing. Hopefully NOT a sign of things to come from her next album!
