Oh Lily how I missed you babe!!! :P Welcome back Lily! <3

:/ This vid...

Song is fine but the vid totally ruins it and almost is hypocritical? Still trying to gather my thoughts about it. It's pretty racist to me? I can't get down with it even though I think it's really catchy.

Also the song isn't really saying anything not already covered here:

It's not black culture she is parodying, it's youth culture.

I feel like she's an even cleverer lonely island -- ethics come first yet still the perfect chorus follows

at 1:39 what choreography is she mimicing.?! i CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT YET I REMEMBER IT FROM YOUT)

But most of the dancers are black? And all of the slow-mo shots of asses, breasts, etc. are of the black dancers? And everyone in the video is an adult - how is that parodying youth culture? Twerking has existed for 20-30 years and has a very rich history and it's really only recently since a bunch of white artists have capitalized on it that it's really been focused on in the media. I know she's really mostly throwing shade at Miley, Robin Thicke, etc. and I totally think there's legitimate criticism for both of them but I think this is the wrong way to go about it - the fact that nearly all of the dancers in this vid are black sort of kills the point 2 me. "DON’T NEED TO SHAKE MY ASS FOR YOU, COS I GOT A BRAIN" When you pair this with images of black women twerking it comes off as "I'm above this", or at least I think that's how most people will perceive the video and not a critique on white ppl exploiting black culture.

I think I'm mostly tired of how when people critique capitalism, body image in media etc. they often use imagery/ideas from black culture and attack that? Jewelry/"bling", money, alcohol, twerking, etc. Lorde's Royals comes to mind as well. Why are these the images in our mind of excess/greed and not Wall Street, bankers, etc.? "New Slaves" comes to mind for me. I'm just sayin

She's back on top form! This does somewhat remind me of 'everyone's at it' lyrically.

If this is the sign of things to come then I can't wait for her third album!

Is 17th November confirmed?

I posted the link to the YouTube video on Facebook and it said it in the description, but it seems to have been removed since then. It's still visible on my Facebook though.

I hope it's still the case! Clearly a smash in waiting.

I don't see why they wouldn't release the track asap.

This single won't launch the album if it's still scheduled for March, so she can as well get a hit now and then roll on a new single January/February time.

I'd love her to be #1 and #2 next week, who ever did that before?

Lily tweeted just over an hour ago that the song is indeed being released on the 17th! :D

I say this as a very big fan of Lily, but I'm actually a little underwhelmed by this. The verses are pretty good but really not a fan of the chorus, it seems a little too much over the top. I really want it to grow because her past material has been outstanding but not feeling it right now.

To retroactively become buzz single please. Or at least stronger second and third singles.

Why would or should this be a buzz single when it's obviously going to be a hit? The video looks too expensive for a "buzz single" anyway.
Unpopular opinion but Not Fair is my favourite song from her. This has vastly grown on me now. It's very catchy and video is great but the chorus is a bit poor imo. A surefire hit all the same though.

It seems like nobody can release a video these days without the appropriation police hysterically flashing the racist card. Yes, Lily Allen is totes racist.

Anyway, it's a fun song/video and I actually love the autotune usage, but I can't help feeling the message is a tad passé. I mean P!nk did the exact same thing seven years ago on Stupid Girls. Still, I'm pretty excited for the album so I guess it did its job!

Spoken like a man with excellent taste :D
