Why you are surprised by the mass love for him is puzzling considering how huge Take That are and he has a lot of fans from X Factor. Let Me Go is catchy too so all that combined would surely indicate success especially for a lead single from an album his fans have waited 14 years for.

You think this is catchy? It is the complete opposite, and I can see it dropping down really fast.

My opinion is that his X-F exposure may have made him even more disliked instead. And waiting 14 years for a "Let me Go" from the man who wrote "Rule the World" and "Patience" cannot be considered a huge achievement either. You cannot be that surprised Gary is slightly bashed here, he is not the most likable solo artist I can think of.

That said, Gary looks like the person who would have chosen his album release date more caregully chart-wise... Appart from Robbie's, Eminem's and 1D's week (and perhaps Gaga as nobody expected sales would be that low) he would be the favourite to get the no1 album. Surprisingly, I am on team Gary for the no1 album next week if Robbie's 2nd week cannot stop 1D. (not that it will do any difference though -_- )

You thinking Gary is terrible is your opinion, i think he is brilliant but again my opinion. Why you are surprised by the mass love for him is puzzling considering how huge Take That are and he has a lot of fans from X Factor. Seriously doubt many were waiting 14 years.

Anyone know what his 2nd album sold? I guess we might find out in 10 days or so.

I think Gary's album could get to #1 on the back of the XF final performance with Elton or his BBC televised NYE concert (sales are usually rubbish in January so hopefully Gary will take advantage)
I really hope Gary Barlow is number one album next week and NOT One Direction. He is very talented and writes his own songs and is a far more deserving winner.

One Direction could sell 200K first week. I don't think Gary has that "Take That" selling power on his own.

What were the first week sales of 1d's last album?

Something like 130k!

Lily Allen is 2,000 away from #1. She'll probably get it.

Yes, she will get it.

However, I'm so happy Bastille combined are easily outselling Gary Barlow. So, they will be number 2 on sunday.

Surprised at the mass love for Gary, he is terrible?!

I know right

He shouldn't get anywhere near the top 2 which is good. :cheer:

My opinion is that his X-F exposure may have made him even more disliked instead.

This. I wouldn't mind him if it wasn't for his terrible acting on the X Factor.

He is desperately wanting to be seen as a gentleman but the "fag ash" moment proved he is nothing of a gentleman, and just a very rude and stupid man who can't take constructive criticism. His ego is huge.

Never heard anything so stupid in my life! Bet you are perfect aren't you.

No but I'm not on National television every week and pretending to be M. Perfect in front of millions of people.

His comment to Tulisa was personnal, low and totally out of topic, and god knows I'm far from a Tulisa fan.

It is just a perfect example of his hypocritical act. And it's not like the music is any good anyway (but this is only an opinion of course). :)

Thanks.

Managed to find sales on the web which say it sold 155k.

Knew it was something unspectacular. Prob do similar next week too - thats the moment lats year when i knew album sales were f*ked. The biggest pop act in the world can only do 150k in the final week of november!

This is kind of true but the thing is 1D are a bit like Justin Bieber in the way they have massive popularity and are young people's idols but it doesn't really translate in huge numbers because they don't appeal to very wide demographics, like Adele would for example.

Please tell me this is some kind of joke? 155k was one of the highest opening weeks of the year, and an improvement of 20k or so from their first album which was released when sales were higher.
