Xmas week should be the last of this year. It should be so even if Saturday was January 1st, not to mention a Wednesday January 1st. Regardless what I may believe, did the week following xmas count for the current years chart before?

 

If there is only one week remaining 1D will have to sell at least 220k to get the no1 B-) In this case 1D could even finish 3rd behind Buble's 600k. (there is little chance of that happening though)

If for some bizarre reason the week after xmas still counts they still need to do 150k-70k.

So if Emeli will sell more during chart year (30th December 2012-28th december2013) and 1D will sell more between 1st january and 31st december, who will be crowned as the best album seller :rolleyes:

I still personally think Robbie might have an outside chance... I definitely think he'll be the Xmas #1, but he'll probably need to shift close to 200k this week, which might be too much of an ask in this sales climate.

Robbie *could* do it but he didn't outsell 1D by much this week and there's still quite a gap between their current sales, so I don't think he'll topple them.

I think Robbie has a small chance of overtaking Emeli and Bublé also has a (very) outside chance, but 1D pretty much have year end #1 in the bag. Nothing is coming even remotely close to 1 million though of course. Hopefully Take That will change that next year although their next album will probably not do as well as 'Progress' since it's not the big 5-piece reunion album (Robbie probably won't even be on it).

That's why the original poster said One Direction will have to sell 12k copies per day more than Emeli.

So One Direction have to sell almost 70k this week, it will be really close race.

So what do people think? Less than 24 hours for them to cross the line - with no mids this week it'll be a tough call...
