Decided to make a separate thread for the results. Which song will come out on top?

Okay! I'll count down the first set of results. There were 10 raters so a few positions belong to more than one song (e.g. there are 3 songs in 22nd place and FOUR in 20th place due to them scoring the same averages.)

So in last place is Just Smile, an album track that features on Olly's second studio album In Case You Didn't Know. I was a tad surprised at this as I was expecting a B-Side to be knocked out first. Clearly we do not appreciate this extremely optimistic & mellow track enough! Personally I find it extremely feel-good and a fairly decent album track. Having said that, 6.6 isn't too bad overall at all considering it's last place.

In joint 22nd place is I Don't Love You Too (an album track from In Case You Didn't Know), Loud & Clear (an album track from Right Place Right Time) and Runaway (A bonus track on the deluxe edition of Right Place Right Time). Personally, I feel Loud & Clear should be higher but agree with the low positioning of I Don't Love You Too as I find it rather forgettable. Still no B-sides knocked out!

Next up is Takes a Lot - the B-side of 4th single Busy. Personally, I very much agree with this low placing as the track is slightly dull & repetitive and he has far stronger B-sides in my opinion.

This one took a particularly long time to type up - 5 songs joint in one position! If only 1 more person had voted to take it up to 11 voters. ANYWAY, that aside - in joint 20th place firstly includes Don't Say Goodbye (An album track from Olly Murs) - the first song to be knocked out from Olly's debut album and one of my personal favourite album tracks of his so I was disappointed this finished so low. Next is I Blame Hollywood (An album track from Olly Murs) so a double whammy of songs from his debut. Also joint 20th is I've Tried Everything (An album track from In Case You Didn't Know) which in my opinion is pretty forgettable as a track itself, although live is a standout as Olly makes the crowd do a little dance along with it! Also, there is Sophie (the B-side to second single Thinking Of Me) which you literally cannot find a YouTube video of without a flurry of comments from girls claiming to be Sophie. A great B-side IMO, a song about heartbreak yet it feels so light and mellow. Lastly, there was Tell The World (An album track from In Case You Didn't Know) which isn't anything special to be honest compared to some of his other material, but I liked the whistling element added to it and how feel good it is. After THAT commentary, I'm glad that there are not 5 songs filling the #19 position!

Another joint lower position - but at least not shared by five songs this time! The nineteenth place spot is shared between Army of Two (2nd single from Right Place Right Time) and Ask Me to Stay (Album track from Olly Murs). The former is the first single to be knocked out and was a song "written for the fans" which is ironic as this is a very small percentage of the fans' least favourite single! Still, I gave it a 9 as I think it's brilliant and has an anthemic feel to it. The only thing possibly keeping it from being a 10 was that his vocals sound a bit strained on the falsetto parts. A #12 chart position was a decent result for Olly as well. Ask Me to Stay isn't one of my favourites but I think it's pretty great - showing how strong Olly's albums are in my opinion.

Another joint position again! Luckily the next one belongs to just one song. Anyway, the joint 18th position belongs to Accidental (Album track from Olly Murs) and Head to Toe (Album track from Right Place Right Time). I really like Accidental, the odd yet charming "stalker song" as evident by the lyrics. Head to Toe on the other hand I find average by Olly's standards.

The song in 17th place is C'mon C'mon. It is the B-side to third single Heart on My Sleeve. I have distinct memories of this song, as in early 2011 Olly ran a competition where fans had to get creative and make videos to the song ~ cue a 13 year old me making one just doing random stuff that had nothing to do with the song (No, I did not win). Anyway 7.25 is a pretty decent average for a B-side, and I think this is a great one - telling the story of Olly wanting somebody back after messing up in a very mellow and catchy style.

Olly has a few duds on his albums but his debut was absolutely fantastic. One of the best albums I've ever purchased (and I buy ALOT). His second was absolutely awful but his third was alot better.

 

Don't Say Goodbye, Love Shine Down, A Million More Years, Change Is Gonna Come, Right Place Right Time and Troublemaker are tunessssssss. :D

The lovely old situation of having multiple songs in one position again! Ah well, these songs in question are Baby Blue Eyes (B-side of 6th single Dance With Me Tonight), Cry Your Heart Out (Album track from Right Place Right Time) and Don't Say Goodnight Yet (B-side of 7th single Oh My Goodness). This leaves one B-side now to be knocked out! Both B-sides were a great bonus to the singles, with Baby Blue Eyes being a track about wanting a girl to realise that he's the one for her in a fairly sweet manner & Don't Say Goodnight Yet which I didn't used to rate but grew on me over time and is infectiously catchy! Cry Your Heart Out is a song about Olly hitting back at a girl who continuously messes up yet always comes running back ~ despite this subject matter, it's an extremely chill out track that is one of many highlights on the album!

Multiple songs again for a position! Unfortunately this is the case right through to position 9 now, but then luckily the top 8 consists of single songs holding the spots! Anyway, 15th place belongs to 5 songs. Firstly, Heart On My Sleeve(3rd single from Olly Murs) which means that it is the first single to be knocked out from Olly's first album and the second single to be knocked out overall. Fun fact ~ it is actually a cover written by James Morrison - sang by American Idol season 7 contestant Michael Johns. Next, there is Love Shine Down (Album track from Olly Murs) which I find rather cheesy and is probably my least favourite from the album, but I do still like it on the whole as it redeems itself towards the end after the second chorus! Also to hold this position is On My Cloud, which was originally a B-side to 5th single Heart Skips a Beat, before then later being added on to In Case You Didn't Know as well. The fourth song to hold the 15th place spot is One of These Days (Album track from Right Place Right Time) which is a slow one about how Olly tells of waiting for somebody to love. One of my favourites from the album! Lastly, is Perfect Night (to Say Goodbye), a bonus track from the deluxe edition of Right Place Right Time which I think vocally in particular is a stand out moment on the deluxe edition.

I do think that Hand On Heart is one of Olly's weakest singles but considering it's a 5th single from an album, he's done pretty well for himself! Next up is I'm OK (Album track from In Case You Didn't Know), Oh My Goodness (Third single from In Case You Didn't Know) & Personal (Album track from Right Place Right Time). Firstly, I'm OK is brilliant, a song about Olly going through a break-up but manifesting a total "I'm OK" attitude to the world. A stand out on his second album and I love the charming hilarity of the "whatever" part at the end :lol:. Next up is Oh My Goodness, which personally I find to be his weakest single to date but the video is rather amusing! Lastly, there is Personal, a song about Olly questioning a girl about cheating from all the obvious signs, a great uptempo take on the subject matter!

Just outside the top 10 now, and this spot belongs to four songs! The top 8 however all belong to one song. ANYWAY, First up is A Million More Years, an album track from Olly Murs. It proved popular - receiving the first 11 so far! It's a glorious highlight from his first album for sure. Next up is I Need You Now from In Case You Didn't Know and I think it's absolutely stunning, my favourite from that album, although it looks like I'm alone with that opinion! Next The One - a bonus track from Right Place Right Time (Deluxe edition) and is the final bonus track to appear - I believe the first song in the countdown to get at least a 7 from everyone! Lastly is This One's For the Girls, and well lyrically is what it says in the title! Listing all different types of girls it's dedicated, of course adding in the Essex girls! It is the final B-side to be knocked out and is the B-side to first single Please Don't Let Me Go!
