You think so? Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I actually thought they'd be a little higher than that by now.
Considering it's only been sent to radio a few weeks ago and there is no video for it yet I think it's going pretty well so far .

Lily is like Free Falling and now 1D has like 18% lead... if only it wasn't "Thousand" gap I guess they could of win this.
Leona Lewis "One More Sleep" to #33. Hope it will make the top 30 tonight! :)
Lily Allen will almost certainly get a last minute boost from the XF ad break tomorrow anyway.

18 Pharrell Williams - Happy

It's climbing VERY fast in the past week... anyone knows y?

Just word of mouth. It's taking off in a lot of places.

82. Body Electric - Lana Del Rey

Well this is an interesting way to get a (very minor) hit single - Lana has released a short film ('Tropico') but it's only available on iTunes as an album-only 'track' on an EP with 3 of her songs on it, which is listed on iTunes as 'Tropico - Single'. So to download the film you need to download the entire EP and as it's listed as a single that means all sales of that are being combined to 'Body Electric'. Fun.

Looks like it. Strikes me as a bit pointless to release a single version only to delete it just days later. I suppose that benefits her by giving her Sunday sales, but surely the more logical move would be to just release the whole album on Sunday (I do not understand why record labels aren't doing this already).

 44. Nelson Mandela - Special AKA

Probably wasn't the plan but with it not doing as well as they want it to do, it's obvious that having two versions competing for an iTunes chart position isn't a good thing.

I'm really pleased Afrojack is holding up well. :D Currently at #13. I thought this would fall down to around the #25-30 area this week. It's a good track hope it can hold in the Top 40 for a while yet.

I asked an industry friend about why labels don't release albums digitally on a Sunday and the reason is they don't want to piss off physical retailers. Makes sense when you think about it.

Just begs the question why retailers of physical albums don't start selling them on a Sunday? I mean in a struggling Physical industry denying new albums an extra days sales seems so stupid.

Are U2 showing up in the chart yet with the track taken from the Mandela film soundtrack?
Just heard 'Happy' for the first time. With such a poor single release schedule, I can certainly see it going to #1. It's really good, reminds me of some of Gnarls Barkley's stuff, however I wish it wasn't quite as repetitive.

I agree, and when I worked in Asda new Monday releases were always delivered in advance on Friday's so why not just let retailers put them out on Sunday? Maybe they think that it's too unorthodox a day to start promoting new physical product?

I would have thought Sunday would be a good day to pick up some casual sales in supermarkets as well. For online retailers they often send out the physical albums early anyway to get them before the Monday release.

They're not denying them an extra days sales, it's just shifting the sales later.
