There wont be a full line up until Saturday/Sunday. Waiting to see who turns up apparently.

Bang go Clean Bandit, Guetta and Olly's chances of No.1...

Definitely putting a tenner on X Factor for Xmas No.1 too with that release date.

Now we're in the age of the download, it'll be interesting to see how all the Band Aid songs will do on the charts.

Of the previous versions, I'd be surprised if the original didn't go at least top 30 this year, maybe even top 10!!!

Of the other 2, it would be nice to see them chart well too.

I was hoping Clean Bandit get a week, no chance of that now. It will be Band 30 at #1 for 4/5 weeks and than the Xmas #1, that's 2014 over. Its sooooooooooo predictable.
It won't be available to stream until 2015 apparently so it will rely on 100% sales. It's hard to tell how big it will be or how long it will stay at No.1, it's a completely different music industry to the 2004 version.

Very good cause, but I'll stick with the original version.

Watch Cowell immediately move the X Factor winner to the week after Christmas now...

It would have to be a 5 week number one to get Christmas and its a charity song with massive hype, its going to be front loaded.

That seems a bit iffy, would anyone be bothered to stream it after Christmas is over  unless I'm missing something

Midge Ure said that they get so little from it that its not worth it, they want to encourage downloads.

Unavailable for streaming until January seems extremely pointless to me. The line is good enough, some big names on it, but as i said in an earlier post i had hoped Take That would be on it. I also notice no old school males or females (except Bono)on the line up, such as Elton John, George Michael, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Celine Dion etc. I do feel a mixture of old and new artists would have huge appeal. Fans of the older generation would rush for the cd while the fans of the new generation would download.

I don't think Clean Bandit would have stood a chance against Olly but at least the good news means we could have a massive clear out with 4/5 new entries in the top 10 and Olly not getting to number one!!

Clean Bandit were surely gonna be number 1, even with Olly's XF performance? I don't know why people think it would lose against Olly. But yeah, this has Adele on it, so it'll sell on her name. They should rename it to "Adele and Others"
Surprised no Cheryl...They should put her line after (one of) Adele's. :P
Why can't they just release it in December? Annoying how we won't have a chart battle next week and for the next couple of weeks.

Yeah that's exactly what I think. There's no way it's gonna stay at No. 1 for 4/5 weeks.

Yes, now you mention it...unless it's really, really good. The original song actually is pretty catchy, it's just that the 89/04 versions were pretty awful.

Seems a little silly having a Christmas song out so long before Christmas. Who knows though, it might have a week at number one, three weeks hanging around #10 and then climb back up again in the last week.

Strange its out as early as 17th, waiting until 1/12 would have made more sense. Ah well itll be interesting to see how it does & if they take over all the tv channels with the video premiere!

Yeah if they're going for Christmas #1 (which I assume they are) it definitely would have made more sense to release it a bit closer to Christmas. I think it will be #1 for a couple of weeks, hang around the Top 10 for another couple of weeks, and then climb back into the Top 5 or Top 3 on Christmas week.

I just cant wait to see how it fairs in a 99.99% download market as i presume alot will buy the physical as its Band Aid. How much cd sales did last years XF winner have compared to downloads incidently?

Hope it sells thousands and thousands of copies anyway and maybe Simon Cowell will put the XF winner back to the final week of the year like he did with ehm Steve Brookstein ahm!!

At any rate sales in the comi9ng month should be stellar in the top 5 with the big new entries & Band Aid!
