It was performed on Sports Personality of the Year apparently (and also the Royal Variety Performance).

Nice to see this back in the top 40 again for whatever reason :D

I believe it was a different song performed on SPOTY.

First time properly hearing this - very Destiny's Child esque. I like. (zo urban)

Biography

Ellie Goulding is a British vocalist whose music finds the balance between electro-pop and indie folk. Born in Hereford, England, she later moved to the country's east coast to study drama at the University of Kent. Goulding had developed a love for folk music as a teenager, and her time at University also exposed her to electronica. After two years, she took a break from her studies and moved to West London, where she pursued a career as an alternative singer/songwriter and befriended producers like Starsmith and Frankmusik, who gave her songs an electro-pop twist. In 2009, Goulding began building an audience via the internet, where early tracks like "Starry Eyed" and a cover of Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold" were posted on taste-making MP3 blogs such as Discodust. Goulding soon graduated from the blogosphere to print media, gaining praise from mainstream publications like The Guardian and fielding offers from record labels. She ultimately signed a major-label deal with Polydor Records and began making preparations to release her debut album. In the meantime, she penned songs for Diana Vickers, Gabriella Climi, and others.

During the final weeks of 2009, Goulding topped the BBC's "Sound of 2010," a poll conducted by British music critics and industry insiders to identify new talent. Building on that momentum, she released Lights — a sparkling debut album that splashed Goulding's vocal flutter across a landscape of acoustic and synthesized instruments — in March 2010. Lights topped the U.K. charts during its first week and spun off a Top Five single, "Starry Eyed," which also charted well in Ireland and New Zealand. Later that year, the album was re-released as Bright Lights, featuring seven new recordings (including a cover of Elton John's "Your Song," which peaked at number two). In 2012, Goulding returned with her sophomore album, Halcyon, which showcased an even more sonically adventurous, electro-pop-infused sound. In 2013, a deluxe reissue featuring ten extra songs was released, entitled Halcyon Days, it acted as supplement to the original release. ~ Andrew Leahey & Jason Birchmeier, Rovi / iTunes

Album Discussion Here

it samples the same song as S Club 'Natural' - that takes me back in time to 2000
At least this time it wasn't Jameela who pointed out that it's her first #1 :P
This new Little Mix song sounds wonderfully early 00s

Like S Club 7's top three hit Natural! Thanks to the same sample use.

Wow 10 years since I nearly choked on my Sunday lunch when the darkness didn't get the Xmas no1, great chart!!

2003 was like the end if the physical era with those last big sales!

Like S Club 7's top three hit Natural! Thanks to the same sample use.

Ooh, S Club 7 probably would have fared well in the urban awards then :o

'Burn', much like 'Love Me Again' is growing again

This new Little Mix song sounds wonderfully early 00s

A lot of the album does, Mr Loverboy is a slice of Spice girls from the 90's and it is glorious.

Biography

Actress/vocalist Demi Lovato began making a name for herself after starring alongside the Jonas Brothers in the 2008 Disney Channel movie Camp Rock. Born in 1992 in Dallas, Texas, she was raised in a household that included her mother (a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader) and her two sisters, the youngest of whom launched her own acting career in 2008. Demi started out as a child actress, starring as a cast regular on Barney and Friends before finding her way onto the Disney Channel with a brief role in As the Bell Rings. Lovato's debut album, Don't Forget, featuring songs co-written by the Jonas Brothers, was released by Hollywood Records several months after Camp Rock's premiere. It debuted at number two, confirming Lovato's status as a star in her own right, and was followed in 2009 by the chart-topping Here We Go Again. Meanwhile, Lovato continued to act, appearing in a popular sequel to Camp Rock and starring in her own Disney series, Sonny with a Chance. In 2010, following a widely reported altercation with a backup dancer, Lovato left a tour with the Jonas Brothers to enter a treatment center for unspecified physical and emotional problems. After leaving the facility in 2011, Lovato announced that she had been treated for bulimia, among other issues, and had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She also revealed that she would not be returning to work on Sonny with a Chance. In 2011, Lovato released the studio album Unbroken, featuring the Toby Gad-produced single "Skyscraper," as well as the Timbaland/Missy Elliott-produced "All Night Long," but it was "Give Your Heart a Break" that was the album's second biggest hit, peaking at 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 on its way to being certified platinum.

Lovato's comeback continued in 2012 when she, along with Britney Spears, signed to be one of the four judges on the second season of the U.S. version of The X Factor, debuting in the fall of 2012. Lovato's role on The X Factor was a success, leading to her return for the 2013 season. Prior to the show's fall launch, Lovato released her fourth album, Demi, which appeared in May of 2013 preceded by the single "Heart Attack." - iTunes

Discussion Thread Here

I never would've expected Burn to still be in the top 40 by December when it was first released. I think it could stay in until January, if the gift cards boost it.
Demi nearly missing the top 40 entirely - lol bai. (Thank GOD we weren't subjected to this being high up in the charts again, hopefully the last we'll hear of it in the top 40).
URGH at this utter dirge re-entering the chart :puke: :puke2:  , thankfully it’s only at #37. :D
