December 20, 201312 yr Author Afternoon Jackers- Welcome to the Christmas Chart show- NO SPOILERS PLEASE- THANKS!
December 22, 201312 yr Author From all the Chart mods- MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!- THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF BUZZJACK THROUGH THE LAST YEAR!
December 22, 201312 yr Wow, last year's top 10 was horrendous - the only one I find bearable is 'The Power Of Love'. Glad Kelly looks set to enter the top 40. :) Hope Little Mix can sneak in with 'Little Me' since it's been close to the top 20 for a good few days.
December 22, 201312 yr James should have had #1 instead of that GODAWFUL Justice Collective song. :manson: Anyway, can't wait for Sam to get that Christmas #1 today
December 22, 201312 yr Afternoon everyone! ^_^ My retro faves: 2012 2- IMPOSSIBLE- James Arthur (223,770) 5- LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN- Bruno Mars (46,113) 6- GANGNAM STYLE- PSY (41,191) 7- TROUBLEMAKER- Olly Murs Featuring Flo Rida (41,158) 8- I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE- Taylor Swift (38,823) 9- THE POWER OF LOVE- Gabrielle Aplin (33,334) 2008 1- HALLELUJAH- Alexandra Burke (576,046) 3- RUN- Leona Lewis (72,417) 6- BROKEN STRINGS- James Morrison Ft Nelly Furtado (36,021) 7- USE SOMEBODY- Kings Of Leon (29,821) 2003 1- MAD WORLD- Michael Andrews Ft Gary Jules (227,547) 2- CHRISTMAS TIME (DON’T LET THE BELLS END)- Darkness (222,561) 7- SHUT UP- Black Eyed Peas (54,000)* 10- TOO LOST IN YOU- Sugababes (27,000)* 1998 1- GOODBYE- Spice Girls (380,000) 4- BELIEVE- Cher (123,699) 8- WHEN YOU’RE GONE- Bryan Adams/ Mel C (75,000)* Fab retros this week  Edited December 22, 201312 yr by Slade
December 22, 201312 yr Merry Christmas Buzzjack :cheer: Shouldn't the question in the first page be how poor will Sam Bailey's sales be? Retro faves time: 2012 2- IMPOSSIBLE- James Arthur (223,770) Wasn't a fan of the 'He Ain't Heavy' cover, would've preferred to seen this go to Xmas #1, and it would've done it if X-Factor finished this week 3- SCREAM AND SHOUT- Will.i.am Featuring Britney Spears (88,400) 6- GANGNAM STYLE- PSY (41,191) 7- TROUBLEMAKER- Olly Murs Featuring Flo Rida (41,158) 8- I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE- Taylor Swift (38,823) 9- THE POWER OF LOVE- Gabrielle Aplin (33,334) 10- DIAMONDS- Rihanna (32,188) 2008 1- HALLELUJAH- Alexandra Burke (576,046) Amazing sales! 2- HALLELUJAH- Jeff Buckley (80,883) This is a good version too, nice to see it getting recognition during this week 3- RUN- Leona Lewis (72,417) 7- USE SOMEBODY- Kings Of Leon (29,821) 9- GREATEST DAY- Take That (24,174) 10- WOMANIZER- Britney Spears (22,722) 2003 1- MAD WORLD- Michael Andrews Ft Gary Jules (227,547) 2- CHRISTMAS TIME (DON’T LET THE BELLS END)- Darkness (222,561) The sales were so close, didn't realise! Both are great but this would've been a more fitting Xmas chart topper. It's gone down as a classic though, I guess that's what matters 6- LEAVE RIGHT NOW- Will Young (66,684) 7- SHUT UP- Black Eyed Peas (54,000)* 1998 1- GOODBYE- Spice Girls (380,000) 2- CHOCOLATE SALTY BALLS- Chef (372,890) 4- BELIEVE- Cher (123,699) 6- HEARTBEAT/ TRAGEDY- Steps (99,645) 8- WHEN YOU’RE GONE- Bryan Adams/ Mel C (75,000)*
December 22, 201312 yr Woop woop, happy that Kelly is finally top 40 (maybe top 30) today. Christmas no.1 campaign and to stop x factor aside I'm fully in support of AC/DC getting their long overdue top 10 hit :D Edited December 22, 201312 yr by Rob Rudolph
December 22, 201312 yr Totally forgot how close the 98 and 03 chart battles were :o Great top 2's though!
December 22, 201312 yr You know what, I REALLY don't like that Pharrell song but anything to stop another X Factor/charity song being the Xmas #1 would be fine with me. Could you imagine if Sam missed #1 though? Her and the show would literally get the worse press ever. Edited December 22, 201312 yr by ★ G R I F F ★
December 22, 201312 yr Retro faves; 2012 1- HE AIN’T HEAVY, HE’S MY BROTHER- Justice Collective (269,248) Glad James Arthur didn't get it, and I did love this (granted not as much as Military Wives). I bet hardly anyone remembers it now mind, my Mum couldn't recall it at all and she was one of the people that bought the CD single last year  3- SCREAM AND SHOUT- Will.i.am Featuring Britney Spears (88,400) 4- STAY- Rihanna Featuring Mikky Ekko (49,586) 5- LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN- Bruno Mars (46,113) 6- GANGNAM STYLE- PSY (41,191) 7- TROUBLEMAKER- Olly Murs Featuring Flo Rida (41,158) 8- I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE- Taylor Swift (38,823) 9- THE POWER OF LOVE- Gabrielle Aplin (33,334) 10- DIAMONDS- Rihanna (32,188) 2008 1- HALLELUJAH- Alexandra Burke (576,046) 2- HALLELUJAH- Jeff Buckley (80,883) So bizarre to have the same song at #1/2! 3- RUN- Leona Lewis (72,417) 4- IF I WERE A BOY- Beyonce (47,092) 5- ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS- Geraldine McQueen (42,541) Love Geraldine and both of her singles, one of the best non Take That projects that Gary Barlow has been involved with imo 6- BROKEN STRINGS- James Morrison Ft Nelly Furtado (36,021) 7- USE SOMEBODY- Kings Of Leon (29,821) 8- LISTEN- Beyonce (28,913) 9- GREATEST DAY- Take That (24,174) 10- WOMANIZER- Britney Spears (22,722) 2003 1- MAD WORLD- Michael Andrews Ft Gary Jules (227,547) Never liked this at all, what a shame that The Darkness couldn't make it. The fact that this was already available for a month on Now 56 makes it all the more surprising, I guess in the download era it wouldn't have happened as it could have been cherry picked for ages beforehand 2- CHRISTMAS TIME (DON’T LET THE BELLS END)- Darkness (222,561) 5- HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER)- The Idols (73,165) Was absolutely astounded that this wasn't the Xmas #1, let alone only selling 73k! I wonder what went wrong! 6- LEAVE RIGHT NOW- Will Young (66,684) 7- SHUT UP- Black Eyed Peas (54,000)* Don't think I've ever seen such a big sales gap between #7 and #8  These were hugely impressive top ten sales for 2003, way better than the sales that we'll see in this week's Xmas top ten in fact, save for maybe #8-10. 8- LADIES NIGHT- Atomic Kitten (28,300) 10- TOO LOST IN YOU- Sugababes (27,000)* 1998 1- GOODBYE- Spice Girls (380,000) Absolutely adore these six songs from 1998, don't care about the other four in this top ten. Yay at this narrowly getting the #1, Chef would have been dire 4- BELIEVE- Cher (123,699) 5- TO YOU I BELONG- B*Witched (108,000)* Pretty respectable sales considering the 1-5 drop 6- HEARTBEAT/ TRAGEDY- Steps (99,645) 7- END OF THE LINE- Honeyz (82,000)* 8- WHEN YOU’RE GONE- Bryan Adams/ Mel C (75,000)*
December 22, 201312 yr Good (?) thing there's absolutely no chance of Sam missing #1 then. But she's still looking to have one of the lowest opening sales for an XF winner's single (possibly the lowest? Not sure what Steve Brookstein did first week but I'm pretty sure Sam is on for lower than all the rest at least) and almost certainly only a week at #1.
December 22, 201312 yr 2012 4- STAY- Rihanna Featuring Mikky Ekko (49,586) 5- LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN- Bruno Mars (46,113) 7- TROUBLEMAKER- Olly Murs Featuring Flo Rida (41,158) 8- I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE- Taylor Swift (38,823) 9- THE POWER OF LOVE- Gabrielle Aplin (33,334) 10- DIAMONDS- Rihanna (32,188) That top 3 :puke2: 2008 1- HALLELUJAH- Alexandra Burke (576,046) 2- HALLELUJAH- Jeff Buckley (80,883) 3- RUN- Leona Lewis (72,417) 4- IF I WERE A BOY- Beyonce (47,092) 6- BROKEN STRINGS- James Morrison Ft Nelly Furtado (36,021) 8- LISTEN- Beyonce (28,913) 9- GREATEST DAY- Take That (24,174) 10- WOMANIZER- Britney Spears (22,722) My favourite X Factor winner's single :) 2003 1- MAD WORLD- Michael Andrews Ft Gary Jules (227,547)   2- CHRISTMAS TIME (DON’T LET THE BELLS END)- Darkness (222,561) 3- CHANGES- Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne (144,802) 6- LEAVE RIGHT NOW- Will Young (66,684) 7- SHUT UP- Black Eyed Peas (54,000)* 8- LADIES NIGHT- Atomic Kitten (28,300) 10- TOO LOST IN YOU- Sugababes (27,000)*   my favourite Sugababes ballad Best Christmas #1 of the century  (though there isn't much competition for that title....) 1998 1- GOODBYE- Spice Girls (380,000) - one of my least favourite Spice singles, but this is decent enough. And glad to see them get 3 Christmas #1's in row 2- CHOCOLATE SALTY BALLS- Chef (372,890) :D 4- BELIEVE- Cher (123,699) 5- TO YOU I BELONG- B*Witched (108,000)* 6- HEARTBEAT/ TRAGEDY- Steps (99,645) 7- END OF THE LINE- Honeyz (82,000)* 8- WHEN YOU’RE GONE- Bryan Adams/ Mel C (75,000)* 9- SHE WANTS YOU- Billie (73,000)* Very good selection of Christmas charts, bar last year Oh, and Merry Christmas Buzzjack :D Edited December 22, 201312 yr by n4yr
December 22, 201312 yr 5- ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS- Geraldine McQueen (42,541) Love Geraldine and both of her singles, one of the best non Take That projects that Gary Barlow has been involved with imo Poor forgotten 'I Know Him So Well' :P
