Looks like some people don't realise 'One More Sleep' is a Christmas song :kink: Still at #25, The Pogues hanging in at #99. I hope they have done enough for one more week in the top 40.

'Skip To The Good Bit' is up to #19! To think it was #79 last week :o

Id say One More Sleep, Mariah & The Pogues will be top 40 on sunday both Mariah & The Pogues will have sold alot on Sunday/Monday & Tuesday this week (their sales were only around 20k last week & usually the week before xmas they are around 25/26k if they have a full week build up). Leona will have done around 20k this week id say as she was no2/3 in the chart up to the midweek point when she had sold 19K up to then last wed & this week it would have been more!

I think the iTunes chart is a rolling week chart - as Happy's album version stuck around for about a week after being impossible to buy. I don't think many people will be buying One More Sleep now but I'm hoping it'll still manage the top 10/15 on high early week sales.

Can anyone tell me why Move has moved back up to #12?

Most probably the Gift Card effect.

There's a good programme on ch4 now about gays and the pop charts it's really good!
Anyway Leona at 30, could well be out of the top 40 by Sundays chart!

Out of the three groups I think Little Mix are most similar to the Sugababes, although they're also a bit like the Pussycat Dolls or Danity Kane or Destiny's Child.

Yeah I'd say this too, and The Saturdays are more like the 2010s version of Girls Aloud - they're both girl bands but they have different styles which allow them to both be big at the same time.

The Saturdays are too model-ish to ever be big. Girls like girlbands they can see themselves in. The Sats are like models who formed a band and that is why their gay following is ridiculous with the 'flawless' rubbish. Little Mix will appeal to girls and gay guys thus have the potential to be big.

The Sats are big. They're not as big as GA were but they've had 13 top 10 hits out of 16 singles, and that's not bad at all. Thermo got it spot on and it looks like your own opinion is getting in the way there?

I'm shocked at how high 'Salute' is! Hopefully this means it'll be the next single.

Also, I can't at this descending into another LM vs Saturdays squabble.

I remember when all the iTunes threads used to descend into GA vs. Sugababes loonoffs. Those were the days ~

They are only hits in most of them being held back songs, pre-album releases that vanish 2 weeks after release.

I doubt anyone in the industry considers them anything but 5 pretty faces who sell multiple copies of the same song to a small but zealous fanbase all concentrated into one week for a high peak.

The album sales and peaks which are harder to manipulate tell the real story.

They've had lots of songs with long chart runs. Ego, Higher, Issues, Up, What About Us.

I thought the whole point of girl groups was to appeal to *straight* guys... :) After all, One Direction are aimed at straight girls...
