December 22, 201311 yr There have been a few but not since the summer seeing as Britney's taken over since September
December 22, 201311 yr Tiesto holds the record, with the only song to drop out of the top 10 from #1: Tiesto, Mark Alston, Baggi Begovic & Jason Taylor feat. Teddy Geiger "Love And Run" (…-1-1-12-…) Other recent* big drops have been: James Arthur "Impossible" (1-9-…) will.i.am feat. Britney Spears "Scream & Shout" (…-1-1-1-9…) Porter Robinson "Language" (…-1-1-1-8…) High Contrast feat. Tiesto & Underworld "The First Note Is Silent" (…1-7-…) Avicii vs. Nicky Romero "I Could Be The One" (…-1-1-1-6…) Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party "Antidote" (…1-6-…) Steve Aoki, Chris Lake & Tujamo "Boneless" (…-1-1-1-1-6-…) *2012/13
December 22, 201311 yr Daft Punk's Get Lucky was my biggest faller this year diving 1-8 but to be fair that was Eurovision week, and I was at Eurovision enjoying all of the entries first hand, so it was at a major disadvantage. It rebounded to #6 the following week after that had died down a little. Otherwise, The Corrs went 1-10 in 2005 with Confidence For Quiet and Gigi D'agostino's Bla Bla Bla went 1-OUT in 2000, I can't imagine why I saw fit for that song to top my chart at all. A very quick obsession that came to a halt very quickly.
December 23, 201311 yr I think Klangkarussell dropping 1-7 with 'Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)' is the biggest in the current incarnation of my chart but I'll have to have a proper look through later. Lorde's 'Team' has just dropped 1-6 on my current chart but it's nothing at all to do with me tiring of the song, it's just I was kinda super hyped about it last week due to the video premiere and have now dropped back to just being slightly hyped about it (and there are a bunch of other amaze new songs around including another Lorde song which has replaced it at #1).
December 23, 201311 yr 1->30 Niamh Kavanagh - It's For You / 2010 1->14 Pearl Harbor - California Shakedown / 2010 1->12 Kele - Walk Tall / 2010 1->12 Harel Skaat - Milim / 2010 1->11 Booty Luv - Say It / 2009 1->10 Harel Skaat - Milim / 2010 1->10 Baths - Aminals / 2010 1->10 Josh Groban - Você Existe Em Mim / 2011 The majority from 2010 :lol: And YEP 'Milim' did that drop TWICE.
December 23, 201311 yr A drop to lower than #3 is actually very rare, a good example of that is the last 1-4 drop was Charli XCX "Nuclear Seasons" back on 1 January 2012, 23 months ago. The last 1-5 drop was Guillemots "Trains To Brazil" in 2006 and the only bigger drop I can see (from a quick scan ) is Mew dropping 1-6 on the chart on 11 January 2004. My chart runs are quite predictably boring. :(
January 15, 201411 yr Author I regularly went through a period of loving a song that much on first listen that for the format week it gets played twice as much and then the second week slips down my chart cause I've burned put that amazingness straight away!! Only avfew songs have actually rebounded from this, an example being Rebecca Ferguson with I Hope. She fell from 01-12 and then rebounded back into the top 10 for the rest of its chart run which it is still doing now :D Rebecca Ferguson - I hope [01-12-03-02-05-03-03-03-04-04-05] 10 weeks Edited January 15, 201411 yr by JSG

Pre-2012 era would however be a complete embarrassment.
January 28, 201411 yr Theory Of A Deadman - All Or Nothing Lady GaGa f/Beyoncé - Telephone Britney Spears - Perfume All fell 1-9.
January 31, 201411 yr My drops overall are nowhere near as harsh as some of these. :lol: 1-8 Little Mix - Cannonball 1-5 Ed Sheeran - Lego House 1-5 Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory 1-5 Scissor Sisters vs Krystal Pepsy ft. Azealia Banks - Shady Love 1-4 Britney Spears - I Wanna Go 1-4 Chase & Status ft. Louis M^ttrs - Lost & Not Found 1-4 Eminem - Rap God 1-4 Jessie J - Domino 1-4 Storm Queen - Look Right Through
February 5, 201411 yr I tend to avoid big drops, especially in the higher positions. Possibly partly down to me liking songs for longer than some (though this seems to be getting less at time goes on) and because I would hate my chart to have runs like 7-1-4-1-7-16-8-etc... I have some archive data sadly lost, but I remember most important events in my chart anyway. Biggest falls from: #1 (1-6) Editors - All Sparks This spent two weeks at #1 In March/April 2006, but in one week there were 8 new songs in my top ten, of which 6 were new entries at #1 (Red Hot Chili Peppers), #2 (The Raconteurs), (#4 (Arctic Monkeys). #5 (Dirty Pretty Things), #7 (Snow Patrol) and #9 (The Ordinary Boys). This suffered greatly but was still top 80 at the end of the year and was a worthy number one. I've only ever had one more drop worse than 1-4 and that was My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade falling 1-5 on a strong week after three weeks at #1 and getting 9 in the top ten in total (14-5-1-1-2-1-5-6-9-10-etc). #2 (2-9) Eric Prydz vs. Floyd - Proper Education Previous run was (9-3-2-2-) before the big fall. It was just after Xmas 2006 and there was a large influx of newer tracks which gave it a slightly artificial fall. It kept fairly steady after that (9-15-20-23-30-37-etc). #3 (3-11) Maximo Park - I Want You To Stay/Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire Maximo Park were my first climber to #1 after debuting outside the top ten and were unlucky to catch the same week as Editors. Take those new tracks away and it didn't move! KOL were also unfortunate, as it was on its 7th week by then (14-5-2-1-1-3-11-) and remained stable afterwards. But FIVE of my year end top 20 including four of the top ten overtook it the same week (Lady Gaga feat. Colby O'Donis - Just Dance, Britney Spears - Womanizer, The Killers - Human, PNAU feat. Ladyhawke - Embrace and Guru Josh Project - Infinity 2008). #4 (4-18) Goldfrapp - Ride a White Horse No excuses for this one. The first to enter at #1 in my still very new chart and it went (1-4-4-18) before spending a further 6 weeks top 40 and validating my decision to make it a big hit. Probably not a #1 though. #5 (5-20) The Rakes - All Too Human Fair enough. This was very overcharted. It went (3-5-20-31-40-) which to this day remains the least weeks for a top 3 and top 5 hit and joint for a top 10 (outside Christmas), tying with Captain - Keep An Open Mind and Dan Black feat. Kid Cudi - Symphonies which both peaked at #10. It was probably deserving of a top 15 slot but no more. #6 (6-18) The Feeling - Love It When You Call This is the opposite reason to the last two, a track which was doing well (3-3-3-6-) until I dropped it massively. I still liked it though and it went back up to 16 the next week and held onto the top 40 for 7 more weeks! A rare example of me being daft with my chart. #7 (7-23) Biffy Clyro - Many of Horror This was a post Matt Cardle X-Factor final and Xmas chart headrush placing. It had already done 7 weeks top ten earlier in the year peaking at #2 before interest was reignited by Cardle covering it as his winning single. It dropped again at a rate just less than the Christmas songs but still finished top 30 for the year. Funnily enough, Cardle's cover peaked at #14 and had a healthy 8 weeks top 40 itself! #8 (8-20) Muse - Knights of Cydonia Hmm, i'm very surprised. They're my favourite artist/band but I can't find a bigger faller than this! Not even slightly a flop, its chart run was (1-1-1-2-2-2-2-6-8-20-) to this point and then stayed top 40 for 7 more weeks and was top 100 for half a year. It was my #6 of 2006! This was just a post Xmas aberration with lots of new music around. #9 (9-24) Malcolm Middleton - We're All Going To Die Another Christmas chart dropper. Spent 4 weeks top ten over Christmas as the 'alternative' Xmas anthem, two years before RATM. It was a good track and I liked it lots but after the Xmas feeling washed away so did this track. Just gave it a listen just now and I'm pleased it peaked at #3. Also part of my most Scottish top ten ever, as it also included Amy MacDonald and Runrig! :D #10 (10-35) The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York I guess I don't need to tell you why this one fell. :D I don't chart old Christmas songs now, unless there's a specific reason to. The was top ten Xmas week in 2005, 2006 and 2007, reaching #3, #10 and #7 respectively.
February 27, 201411 yr Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas Is You" - #1 in Christmas 2007 - #28 the following week
March 5, 201411 yr Nothing has gone lower than #6 for me - the song that did that was Diana Vickers' Boy In Paris, a week after re-entering at its new peak of #1. March 17, 201411 yr Interesting thread idea. I've included songs which have dropped from 1-6 or lower... 1-6 David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium [2012] 1-7 Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time [2012] 1-8 Rihanna - Diamonds [2012] 1-9 Amy Winehouse - Back To Black [2011] 1-10 Stacey Solomon - Driving Home for Christmas [2011-12] (natural post-Christmas week drop, dropped 10-OUT the following week) 1-12 Adele - Someone Like You [2011] (To be fair, it was its 15th week in the chart!)
