Also seeing Pharrell Williams completely miss the top 40 in 2008 with a brand new song is now absolutely unthinkable :P Quite enjoyed 'Everyone Nose' at the time too, much more than anything he's released this year. 'She Wants to Move' it ain't though.

Poor Sub Focus, getting 2 #41 hits in the space of 4 months :( 'Splash' especially deserved recognition. I'm glad he made up for it with the success of the Torus era though.

Also, I always forget that Duffy's Well, Well, Well missed the top 40, the hype all evaporated so fast around her but then it wasn't a very good song, to put it nicely. Surprised the Mumm Ra song didn't go top 40, seems to appear in a lot of films/TV shows. I seem to recall Marcos Hernandez being hyped at the time (could he even have been on the BBC's Sound of 2006 list?), so it's odd that he never made the top 40 with that. Pretty sure the lead singer of the Honeyz was the vocalist in Anotherside! Also, the Kat DeLuna song, as with everything she touches, is iconic.

Also, when Amelia Lily's Party Over came in at 40, I remember thinking she narrowly avoided peaking at 3 of the 'worst' chart positions with her 3 singles (2, 11 and 41).

Hardly, considering how well Cartoons did that year. It was just a lack of airplay and videoplay support. It was a huge hit in some European countries, even reaching #1 in Netherlands. I wonder why they didnt go with "Tarzan & Jane" first, that was their lead single everywhere else
