Not a day goes by without us considering the nether regions of The Paynis, but One Direction's Liam Payne has made a rather shocking confession this week, admitting that girlfriend Sophia Smith likes nothing more than to buy him lingerie when they're down the shops.

 

Having sat down with Cosmopolitan for a chat about new perfume You & I, Liam and Niall had a few things to share, but frankly we're having difficulty focusing on anything other than the thought of Liam shaking what his mother gave him in nothing but a pair of black lacy undies.

 

Asked if they'd ever change themselves for a gal, Liam was quick to repy, saying: “No. If she doesn’t take you for who you are then there’s no point.”

 

“I’d wear something particular if she asked me to," Niall said thoughtfully, making us think we might still actually have a chance of seeing him do the Macarena in a giant burrito costume one day.

 

It turns out Liam is quite open to letting gal pal Sophia dress him too, although apparently she's a little more interested in his undies

 

He added: "Sometimes I get Soph to do a bit of shopping for me, like, ‘If you want to see me in anything…’ So then she goes off to the lingerie section.”

 

Err, pair of lacy briefs, anyone?

 

While you take a moment to imagine just what they might look like, there's also a few details on what Liam and Nialler actually smell like IRL.

 

Chatting perfumes, Liam said: “Mine, I robbed off my dad when I was little, called Jean something. Jean Paul Gaultier! The blue one with the little stripy shirt.”

 

“From 13, I think, I started wearing Armani Mania," Niall said. "It’s Hugo Boss at the minute… Hugo Boss is the one with Ryan Sheridan [we think he means Reynolds] in the ad. It’s got a silver top and it’s got ‘Boss’ written down the side.”

 

But just because they've got fancy pants tastes in perfume, doesn't mean they aren't still the Mullingar and Wolverhampton lads they've always been

 

Chatting about what their private jet smells of, Liam explained: “Ours usually smells of McDonald’s.”

 

“Literally," Niall adds.

 

Yes, because that’s what we always order for the flight," Liam said, explaining like the wise man of the forest he is. "Although we’ve switched to sushi now, and er, some chicken teriyaki.”

 

Good to know.
